All the old hits
A renowned industry insider has suggested the rumored PlayStation May 2024 showcase featuring Silent Hill 2 could happen this week.
Bogus!
Why would Sony do that and how would this benefit them?
1) It would piss off their media partners (IGN, Gamespot, Edge, etc.) since they would have to allocate resources fast to cover the event.
2) Risk of not having great coverage or proper coverage from the various source
3) It could give the impression that they are not confident in their own stuff.
4) They would miss the chance to hype the event losing viewers and losing free marketing time.
Again I'm calling it bogus unless it's a small showcase before the big one or because they want to announce that Hellbalde 2 is also coming on PS5.
Going in with no expectations but likely will see something that resonates with me.
Here is a look at the new Joker Trailer. Warner Bros. Games today released a new MultiVersus trailer revealing the first look at gameplay for The Joker, who will join the roster as a playable character when the upcoming free-to-play platform fighter videogame launches on May 28th.
Really interesting news and we will be watching and waiting. Today, Ubisoft revealed the title of the next installment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Stay tuned for the game’s full reveal on May 15th.
So likely a CGI trailer. And maybe the obligatory edition pricing to get ahead of criticism.
Jesus... Now imagine not having a single next Gen game yet ... The spin done here is amazing. For me the free astro game was enough to understand what next Gen is and understand that experience on the ps4 is just so far away. Returnal and ratchet are both amazing experiences. Beside miles morales at launch was crazy fun. Beside the fact that in the first two years almost all games are crossgen... This year... Please...
My God what a disasterous take by the Author. The last State of Play was a Master stroke, one of the best in years! It proves Sony still has a metric ton of secrets and can have the whole internet talking whenever they please.
MS and Ninty need to take note on how to do a proper show like this.
I thought it was Playstation's best State of Play ever. State of Play's usually suck.
I think many of those who feel this way just expect more from Sony. I am personally happy with my PS5. Id prefer a few more games that weren't also on PS4 and it was a better launch window than just about any other console since probably Xbox 360.
But Sony is looked upon to provide the megatons and that just isn't happening right now. Pretty much everything they showed was for next year and most of it wasn't exclusive. Final Fantasy 16? FF doesn't hold the weight it used to and I don't like VR, I've had a couple concussions and cannot use VR without getting sick. Not my idea of enjoyment.
I'm hoping there's another one this summer where they show us those new franchises and big exclusives we know they've been working on. I don't care if it's not releasing until 2024, I want to know about it and at least see some kind of teasers. I just want to see something that screams "you MUST own this console, and they're just not there yet. I know they will be, but so far this gen has been owned by 3rd parties. Which is fine as I own a 3 consoles. I just buy PlayStation for those big-time exclusives, not 3rd party.
People forget this is a state of play. A 30 minute State Of Play. What they showed in a span of 30 minutes was actually good imo. I wasn't expecting SF6 but we got it. I'm bot into horror stuff CP looked great. Again, it's about gow you use that time and Sony use that time wisely.
