Halo Infinite Proves the Series' Future Is Open World

Halo CE only had one portion of one level that was "open world." All other levels in CE was mostly linear. The last level of CE wasn't totally linear, but it surely wasn't open world either. Halo is not really supposed to be an open world game. Just a small percentage of it at most.

I laughed a little at this puff piece. Okay, a little more than that.

But, if you ignore all of the games failings, The lack of features from previous games, Craig's debut and the game's delay, it's rumored development and release amount in comparison to it's quality, it's map amount, it's management, season pass content, etc.

If we concentrate just on the open spaces like this writer, I guess we could all agree. Maybe some gamers just like meat and a bun and not a fully featured burger. I mean, not even a squirt of ketchup.

Sure it isn't a massive success, but if you take the single player content into account, it was ok. Enjoyable campaign, despite the uninspired story line. I mean, ok story with ok multiplayer. Sure not what we hoped but it's a full burger imo.

Alot of "news" is just propaganda and paid promotion. It's like all those "previews" that release on an embargo day gushing about a game that nobody likes like the Saints Row reboot.

I didnt mind the open world aspect as generic as it was with the bases and elite targets to go and kill.

What they need to do is make sure the next one has way more varied enviroments as it literally all looked the same.

Maybe give us some proper side quests with story to go with it just to flesh things out a bit more.

Id have no issues with going back to more linear levels though.

Longer campaign wouldve been good as well.

Yeah I liked the open world a lot. They should get sure of those ninja theory employees to write their story or something. That's the biggest shortfall imo. Brutes rambling on and on about crushing you wasn't engaging at all

The multiplayer is good (7/10)
But the compain is where the game shine i really enjoyed the mechanics and freedom given to player in the game i will give it a (9/10) for the compain really had fun playing it

Campaign was WAY too short for me. I'm still miffed that we have no co-op option getting towards 2 years later, as well.

It was good while it lasted, it really felt like "Halo is back" but then it ended abruptly and I was left wanting more.

I hope not, because the open world made it so there wasn't even a single Scarab in this halo game.

Also because the game was open world there was less variety in the environment, so I want to see less same in the next game and more unexpected worlds.

Honestly, I don’t feel the open-world design added anything to Infinite. Maybe having a HUB world and making each mission take place somewhere unique looking with different objectives would be cool.

Infinite felt rudimentary when it came to being open-world. I want a better told story and tons of set-piece moments to make an epic Chief story. This game was fine, but it’s not the future I want for Halo.

i think halo failed miserably, the game lost it magic, the game lost 95% of its 20mill player base, this wont help the studio, most fans hates the studio and the lack of content in the game, the game rumoured to have been cost 500 mil and most players either download it for 15$ with game pass or for free on pc, most dont pay for its microtransaction, i really think microsoft will dump halo for call of duty or will give it to another studio which is another problem or who know maybe 343 will do something and fix it for halo fans

I actually enjoyed the concept of it being open world. However, a lot of it felt cookie cutter, and sometimes empty. I would like to see how this will be improved in the near future

This explains why they have no clue about videos games or even realize the issues going on with Halo Infinite. There's no way this game is a "massive success" otherwise they wouldn't be heavily discounting the game already. I've seen it on sale already for $30 and I bet on Black Friday it'll be $20 or $15.

It was so boring and uninspired though, full of busy work and meant less biomes and variety that you get when you have individually crafted levels.

I'd much prefer the linear levels with semi open sections like the older games.
