Are they annoyed that fans seem to be able to do things better then them

Nebaku920d ago

If the fans are better than them, why do they need their engine to do these?

They're so good, they should be able to make their own superior game.

giveyerheadawobble920d ago

In some things, a modder can show a big studio up. But its usually them just doing something that the developer should have had to start with. Like the recent RE2 Remake mod in VR with full hand tracking. Capcom said it wasn't right for the game and the best way was 3rd person. Praydog, the modder, basically pulled Capcom's pants down. In regards to GTA, most mods are terrible "realism" graphics mods that destroy the art style and make it look like a mirror or a blown out mess. Model changing and other stuff is great, though. Take Two are going down the wrong path by pissing off the PC modding community here.

SimpleSlave920d ago

Spoken like a true ignorant goofball. Clearly reality means nothing to you. Why don't you go ahead and try again? Trust me, go on and read your own dumb ass comment and think it through just a little bit longer. You'll get there.

I believe in you.👍

anast920d ago

Devs and fans are using the same engine. The fans are sometimes better at using the same engine the devs use. Actually, some modders even get jobs doing this. A person does not have to create another space entirely to be better at something in shared spaces. I think there is an underestimation out there about how rare creating new spaces actually is.

Army_of_Darkness919d ago

Rockstar doesn't want to be exposed for putting very little effort to these remasters just to earn higher profits you know!? These modders are making them look bad.👌🤣

notachance919d ago

lmao

it's not even their proprietary engine, the remastered trilogy runs on unreal engine.

WillyC009919d ago

lol this guys is so clueless.

NotanotherReboot919d ago

because they don't have millions of dollars...?

It's not even that they're made that fans can do better than them. it's that since they know they aren't willing to put in the same amount of work or more to make it look as good or better, they don't want that other version to exist for people to even be able to compare it to

jeromeface920d ago

If your company spent millions developing an IP you'd prob be protective of it too.

luckytrouble920d ago

As they've spent years basically just cashing in on GTA Online and making the lives of fans that dare to make mods and fan projects hell. I feel zero pity for a company that is losing literally nothing to a modding community releasing mods for free.

7EVEN919d ago

Maybe but most of the mods are made to do what the companies should have done from the beginning, like I said most, not all.
And again most of the mods are free, that means the companies lose literally nothing.
They can do the same as Konami did with UnMetal or I think Snk with a fanmade Metal Slug, let the autors publish what they did and even let them gain some money.

anast920d ago

People get punish for making the games better. A better game means less MTs.

Ok time to torrent GTA Trilogy out of spite not playing that turd but will take and seed. I would tell em to fuck off, then move your work and if you have a website on the dark web and post download links to your work there. This would be the logical thing to do. Go around them, this will be the only way. If all fan remakes were in this way we would all be having them finish to completion. Ain't no one going to bother you on the dark web with this, when there are much worse things up there, and never taken down. Now I'm going to post the torrent site and their game on that site right to Take-Two's email address and say to them what can you do now? Nothing that's what, you lose I always win 🤣 Keep messing with modders, casue in the end you won't get a dime from me.

annoyedgamer920d ago

I wish more people would torrent these things and stop supporting the companies.

got_dam919d ago

That's a double edged sentiment. I agree that we need to vote with our dollars and stop letting these shitty corps release broken shit and rake in the money. But if the sales weren't there then they would just abandon the IPs for not being profitable enough. Won't be anything to torrent if it's not being made. Again, I do agree with the sentiment. The ubi/ea/actibliz/Rockstar are all way too comfortable and they keep getting rewarded for their bullshit.

XxINFERNUSxX919d ago

Way ahead of you 😁 Been doing this about 2003, before that old school newsgroups, which are still around. You have to pay per month or year but it's well worth it sometimes.

Fntastic919d ago

Only 2003? Pretty sure I got Win XP using an auto redialer just before i moved to 128k broadband, ahh return to castle wolfenstein multiplayer was so smooth, first smooth online experience like 2001, unless playing a turn based game like Worms 2 or Armageddon then dial up was ok for that.

These days i mostly support software devs, steam and key sites are very cheap.

SDuck919d ago

I try but Denuvo's a b*tch. Crackers are having a hard time cracking the trilogy

Take-Two Mandate on Microtransactions: Over-Deliver on Content and the Monetization Will Follow

Take-Two Interactive states their edict on microtransactions has been to over-deliver on content, and the monetization will follow.

lucasnooker2h ago

Warning. Boatloads of micro transactions coming for GTA VI

porkChop1h ago

To be fair, while GTA Online is monetized heavily both GTA Online and GTA V offer a massive amount of content without paying anything extra. Though I do think GTA Online's optional subscription is bullshit.

neutralgamer199255m ago

Can you please focus on delivering enough quality content to justify the $70 asking price? While I appreciate the idea of over-delivering, it's essential to ensure that the base content itself is worth it. I have concerns that GTA6 might have less single-player content because most of the focus seems to be shifting towards online play and microtransactions.

It's understandable why publishers are capitalizing on microtransactions when they generate billions with relatively little effort compared to traditional content creation. We, as consumers, are partly responsible for this trend. I've seen people spend on FIFA cards as if it's a normal part of the game. Previously, features like player cards and big head mode were earned through gameplay or cheat codes, but now gamers are willing to pay for them, so publishers have no reason not to monetize these features.

It's astonishing that the gaming industry is now more profitable than any other entertainment sector. Yet, despite record-high profits, the industry continues to see increasing levels of greed. It's baffling to hear about record profits followed by significant layoffs of developers. This disconnect makes no sense.

I know it’s unlikely given the size of the industry, but it might take a significant downturn for things to reset. Currently, there are too many decision-makers who lack a genuine understanding of gaming, focusing only on financial spreadsheets. A prime example is Andrew Wilson, the CEO of EA.

It must be a nightmare working at Rockstar in a Production role...dealing with the team egos and those of the V suite. #soulcrush

Crossplay Will Be In College Football 25 But Not In Online Dynasty Mode

EA Sports dropped their first gameplay trailer for College Football 25 today and the game looks truly amazing. Buried in the details of the game hype, however, is a significant letdown for those who play online dynasty (a significant portion of the userbase).
