Time- A First Look at PlayStation Home

"I've been playing with Home for a month or so, and I think it's the most realistic-looking implementation yet of a 3-D world - more startling than even Linden Lab's Second Life. (Though in fairness to Second Life, Home is far more limited in scale: There's not much more than a shopping mall with a theater, a bowling alley and an apartment complex. That will change over time, of course.)"

Its a fair preview, even though I disagree with "opening the Platform" for users. This isn't Second Life, were people make porn and post it in their space, this is Home, it is a Service were people of all ages gather together, socialize and game, with the integration of PS3/PSN games on the side.

If they do open it up a bit, they would have to find a way in which they can moderate such material. Other than that, the content within Home is going to update every week, heck, maybe everyday.

I heard thursdays still...new rooms, new trailers, and new stuff, all in line with store updates...

and tomorrow is the beginning I guess...kind of excited to check out the far cry 2 space...

although...did I read something wrong?...did she try to say that there are only 200k ps3 owners in the US?...

man im excited to see how the "full" beta looks like :D

WOW I didnt realize this was from time magazine ... way to go sony!

They need to add some more sliders for the avatars as far as the bodies are concerned. The proportions seem off like the old Entropia Universe models were. Also some of the skin textures are blotchy.

Zip5635d ago

how would you know? the new beta arent out yet ;) you got no idea about whats changed or not

Skerj5635d ago

Well then, if tonight what I said has not changed then you shall never question what I say ever again for the rest of your natural life. Deal? Deal.

I can't wait to try HOME out.

techie5635d ago

he says 17 million ps3 owners and "a scant 200,000 of whom live in the U.S." WTF!? 200,000 PS3 owners in the US?! What is this guy smoking?

darkdoom30005635d ago (Edited 5635d ago )

wow, the US hates the PS3 more than i thought!!!

/sarcasm

either that a bad typo, or the editor skipped out 5rd grade maths.

So, I Finally Played Home

I recently published an article about beating my Steam backlog by getting organised and the first game I’ve completed with this new approach is Home.

I chose Home not because of its production values or reviews, but because, well, it’s short. I needed a game to start my new approach on the right foot and read that Home takes less than two hours to beat.

Whatever my reasons for finally installing Home, I found it to be an enjoyable yet flawed title.
