I liked a couple of things they showed, nothing else. Mario Party stuff looked good but it's not even DLC for the current game. I bet Wario Ware will be a short game, same for tennis.

Nintendo are getting really lazy, it's like they do the bare minimum content wise then charge full price for it.

So far paced poorly but loving it. Everything shown is for this year and Dread back from the dead since 2008?? Dope.

Overall I'd say it was good but not great. BotW 2 looks incredible, Metroid was a nice surprise, SMT looks like a JRPG epic, and all of the game shown are coming this year. The new Mario Party even looks good.

Not seeing Prime 4 or Bayonetta 3 was surprising.

You left out the biggest announcements of all? First new 2D Metroid game in 19yrs and a new Shin Megami Tensei... Advance Wars 1+2 looked rly cool too. Not sure how anyone in their right mind can hate on this direct. I don't even play anything Nintendo and even I thought it was a very good showing.

Metroid: Samus Returns came out on 3DS in 2017, which was a 2D Metroid. Well reviewed as well. So it's nice, though it doesn't seem monumental (doubly so, given it is gonna cost $60).

Edit: Though if you meant wholly new, then I suppose that's true given M:SR was a remake of the first game. I'm pretty interested to see how it turns out, but definitely going to wait for a price drop.

To be fair, this year is also the 35th Anniversary of Metroid, released same year as original Zelda. So the timing of Metroid Dread release is at least relevant, although I also would have loved a Metroid Prime Trilogy Switch release.

I'm with you on the lackluster celebration of Zelda's 35th. I am highly disappointed that Windwaker, Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask HD haven't been announced.

Almost all of those games (plus games like Pokemon Shiny Pearl/Diamond Remake) are coming this year. I’d say it is a pretty good year for the Switch.

They showed mostly CGI at the MS event. And the other events were cliff notes for existing games and DLC. 2 games sparked my interest from this E3 one of which wasn’t even announced on a stage by pre-e3.

As for the Nintendo Direct, I honestly saw nothing that interested me. They are porting over a bunch of games, a 2D Metroid game they are going to charge 60. And essentially BoTW2 being the most they had but I personally didn’t enjoy BoTW so I wasn’t excited for what they did show.

I’m really not in the minority, I hear it ALL the time when it comes to BoTW. And I’m seeing it everywhere already how underwhelming this E3 was. To think that because you enjoyed it that means it was great is in its own a pretentious thing to assume.

I never once said people couldn’t enjoy the conferences or what was displayed. However, myself and plenty of others have voiced our displeasures with this E3.

BoTW wasn't the only thing shown at E3. Either way, what you say you see everywhere, I've been seeing the opposite. There are those who were disappointed with Microsoft. And there were those who were disappointed with Nintendo. But I've seen almost no one (aside from yourself) say that E3 would've been better as an email because there was nothing interesting shown.

Crusin' Blast was a welcome announcement, but the Advanced Wars 1 & 2 Remake was just a delightful surprise. Metroid Dread was interesting and the Breath of the Wild 2 gameplay was sufficient. Overall, it was poorly paced, but the show was okay. Not much to get excited for, at least in my opinion.

They saved the show...Just...The only highlight was for Mario Rabbids sequel but it was leaked so the impact was gone and then BOTW2 showed very little with a 2022 release date.

I really don't give a crap about Game & Watch It will be too damn expensive for what it is anyway either Nintendo do or Scalpers will.

I'm pretty sure no game from Nintendo will launch at less than 60 from now on...because nobody seems to care so why not.

Great:
- Shin Megami Tensei 5: I always love what Atlus make. Is it AAA TLOU level? of course not but you do always get a quality product that keeps its value over time and usually with tons of goodies?
- Mario Party Superstar: Basically the Halo MCC of the Mario Party and playable on the Switch lite with online play
- The Zelda game n Watch: Somehow I really find this neat vs the Mario Game N watch.

interesting:
WarioWare Get It Together: I'm a huge fan of the Gba Version and Wii version and perhaps it can recapture the magic of the previous game but the unique character thing and coop make me doubt.
Zelda BOTW2: Ok it looks beautiful but I hope the game features a real story and a better reward system to get 100 orbs.
Metroid Dreads: As a budget, the title signs me in but knowing Nintendo they will sell it for 70$ my only doubt is it seems like a filler title while we wait for Metroid Prime 4.
