Xbox Wire writes: The day you’ve been waiting for is nearly here: On Thursday, July 23 at 9 a.m. PT, we’ll be giving you a closer look at the future of gaming with the Xbox Games Showcase, including world premieres and updated looks at some of the games we’ve already revealed.

Phil please bring your AAA titles both existing and new IP's. Sony didn't even have to do much I feel like to get all that momentum besides horizon and GT they didn't show any other major AAA Sony IP's because they didn't have to now bring the games and gameplay

Please don't do another zoom video call instead do professional E3 type digital event

It doesn’t make sense for Sony to show ps5 stream at 4k 60 FPS when they do 30fps cinematic games anyways. Xbox are making 60 FPS games for next gen not just better graphics but performance as well so it makes sense for Xbox to have that 60 FPS video available after

Can't wait to see what MS is bringing to the next gen table. Mostly looking forward to Medium, but I'm generally hyped to see more next-gen footage. 60fps stream is nice, althought the 1080p resolution + stream compression won't do the games justice. Hopefully MS can provide high bitrate downloads for the gameplay demos afterwards. It's a real shame that we usually don't get a chance to see an accurate representation of how those games will actually look.

The medium does look really good, and also Scorn. Medium has that silent hill vibe to it.

I doubt any game on Xbox Series X or PS5 will be 1080p, bare minimum these consoles should be able to push out is 1440p.

Aaron Greenburg specifically said... there won't be ANY hardware, business, or any other news for the stream. So we will only see GAMES. No console info or business acquisitions.

Sony’s showcase was assembled during the pandemic lockdown when everyone was working from home. Showcase was at a lower FPS and resolution to reduce file size and burden on the team. Good for MS releasing higher quality but let’s not act like MS is changing the game here. At the end of the day when these consoles release no one is going to give a crap about the quality of these showcases

Cut Sony some slack. They could have done 60fps too if they wanted too. Just didn’t make sense since their games are targeting 30fps anyway. Unlike Xbox that went with a more powerful next gen design to push improved graphics AND performance

Nonsense. Sony showed games showcasing ray tracing. We don't know that Microsoft will do the same. You cannot judge anything by frame rate alone.

I'm sure Sony could have provided a 60fps stream if they wanted to. Not sure why they would need to for a compressed stream, which they should have tried to have a better quality stream to begin with as the steaming services sucked, but it is what it is. They had higher quality stuff afterwards.

Hopefully MS actual stream will be of better quality. Sony's 4K stream was also kind of dodgy, regardless of frame rate, but I don't think that was on Sony's end.

10 minutes is too long. Show us a variety of games and do so quickly. 5 minutes should be max.

1hour is the right amount of time. The showcase is focused on 1st party games and some 3rd party. There won't be any filler between games.

If it has good pacing, then it can be 5 hours long for all I care. If it's dull or slow in parts, or even most of it, then one hour is plenty....or sometimes too much.

Assassins Creed reveal already tells us you cannot expect every game to run at 60FPS on either new console. Just because the stream is in 60 doesn’t mean every game will be. Likewise, Sony showed off GT7 on a 30fps stream but will obviously push way past that framerate for release. All in all, just saying the stream Hz rate doesn’t matter that much in regards to final specs we’ll get on various games.
