Sony unveils PlayStation Studios brand to launch alongside PS5

Sony has developed a new umbrella brand to unite its first-party PlayStation titles.

The PlayStation Studios brand will go live alongside PlayStation 5 later this year, and will only be used on games developed and managed by Sony.

Alongside the logo, PlayStation has created a new opening video that will appear at the start of its games. The video features characters from Uncharted, LittleBigPlanet, God of War, Ratchet & Clank, Horizon: Zero Dawn and The Last of Us. You can check out the video below.

Honestly, is that phrase a bad thing? Movies and games are very similar with having a beginning and an end but how you get from one to the other is the interactive part (in games). I could have said interactive entertainment (which is also true) but I said movies because Sony has their hand in both games and movies.

@army, well... considering we are a long way removed from the days of Metal Gear Solid 2, which could have coined the original phrase (due to you watching more than actually interacting) but most games these days are big budget AAA titles like Uncharted, HZD, Days Gone, God of War. All having a really good balance of story to interactivity. Thus breaking the phrases bad view and making it a good one. Personally I like when a game has that fully fleshed out story that keeps the player engaged to the end.

It's a good move for Sony to have a single brand to unify the creative work of their multitude of studios. I love the music, it sounds epic. The last part (12 seconds+ ) also references the original PS1 startup sound with the 'twinkly' sound and the deeper bass sound.

Well, Horizon is still exclusive to PlayStation consoles and that's really where the exclusivity matters: in the console market. It's made by a Sony owned studio so it's part of the Playstation Studios group either way.

Thats a very clever intro. The sounds are merges from all the different playstation's since playstation 1. That, really is so cool. (very clever Sony!) I would say that this intro will be pretty much not far off the intro to the PS5 when booting it up. Minus the games being shown. Awesome.
