Yes I Play Racing Games In First Person, No I Don’t Need Help

Let me put it this way. You are allowed to not like this mode if you use most popular displays.

But if you have access to 120Hz display, with real 120fps signal from the PC (or future consoles in some games), and if, that's super important, it has a good low persistence mode (go to blurbusters if you don't know what it means) then either you love it or you're lying about not loving it.
The sense of speed is simply too much to compromise. I always play on mask/bonnet/bumper camera or FPP (for example in Gran Turismo games). Otherwise there's simply not enough thrill to the driving.
And yes. I did play through all Burnout games in FPP mode. And that was not even at 120Hz.
Currently playing some future racers at 120fps. Sometimes in TPP camera for start, just until I memorize the track enough. From this moment, only FPP, cause I love to feel the speed. And it definitely gives me an impression of being pushed into my chair.
I can only laugh at trolls who feel superior while making jokes like "do you sit on your car bonnet/hood while driving a car in real life?". If you prefer realism, it's fine, but FPP cameras in racing games should never be a minority and unpopular opinion!

I used to play Gran Turismo (3, 4 and possibly 5) in bumper cam, and yes, the speed sensation is more intense, but even so I moved on to cockpit view only. No going back for me.

The_Sage1551d ago

Cockpit view is the only way I play.

The_Sage1550d ago (Edited 1550d ago )

Any true racing game. Not GTA, or anything like that.

Driveclub is awesome in cockpit view and it's kinda arcadey.

Xack1550d ago

You brave soul. I can't do it!

VTKC1550d ago

The problem is i cant even play in any other view. I lose the sense of turns and cant control the vehicle. I cant gauge how much to turn. But playing in cock pit i dont have this problem. Wipeout is an absolute nightmare for me, but in first person i am fine.

Xack1550d ago

Interesting. I find cockpit way more obstructing personally

Bourne4141550d ago

I switch between first person and cockpit, honestly I only switch during certain weather's or even races. But I do play in FP most of the time.

5 Best PSVR Games That Need PSVR 2 Ports

Alongside big hitters like Horizon Call of the Mountain, Gran Turismo 7 and Resident Evil Village, PSVR 2 is already home to some of the best PSVR games and experiences, like Moss and Tetris Effect. Better yet, some ports like Job Simulator, Song in The Smoke and Pistol Whip offer free cross-generation upgrades if you bought them for the original PSVR.

There are many PSVR titles we’d love to see leap onto PlayStation VR2. Here's our pick.

True indeed. Great picks. I'd also like Raw Data remastered, LA Noire, Iron Man, Arch Angel, Mortal Blitz and many others. We'll see what gets ported over time.

SullysCigar468d ago

There are so many that would benefit from a PSVR2 facelift with all the bells and whistles.

To add to your list, I'd also like: Hitman 1-3, Xing: The Land Beyond, The Room: VR, Red Matter, Farpoint, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, The Persistence, To the Top, Until You Fall, Arashi: Castles of Sin, Sniper Elite VR, Fracked, Dreams - I'm sure there are loads I've forgotten!

IAMTHEVOID468d ago

To add a sixth game to that list I need on ps vr2 is Vader Immortal

Abnor_Mal468d ago

Did anyone ever play Robinson: The Journey?

Oh and to add to the list I’d definitely put Bravo Team up for porting to PS5. I don’t understand why that game got so much flak when the only problem was the camera zooming out from first to third person when you had to move locations.

Other ports I would like to see wake its way over at some point would be DWVR, Immortsl Legacy, The Mages Tale, Killing Floor Incursion. Never played although I know I own them Unearthing Mars1/2 and Budget Cuts. Doom and Skyrim VR I’m not holding my breath on but would be nice.

EverydayJoe466d ago

I did. Was a beautiful game for its time.

MIDGETonSTILTS17468d ago (Edited 468d ago )

I would just add SUPERHOT.

Great list otherwise.

I’d easily pay $10 for an upgrade for any of these games, or full price for a vr2 version if I don’t own it yet.

Idc if the games are brand new, just as long as they work for my new headset.

Please update and take my money, devs 💰

Six racing games we'd love to play on PSVR2

Since we recently tried out Gran Turismo 7 on the PSVR2, it had us at Traxion.GG wondering what other racing titles might be just as intoxicating on this epic piece of hardware.

Here's a video discussing the games we'd like to see and our thoughts on the chances of a PSVR2 version for each of them.

Profchaos481d ago

I know it's never going to happen but a midnight club LA remaster with psvr2 support would be very high on my list along with NFS underground 1/2.

I wish I could play wipeout in VR but that was the only game I really struggled with motion sickness on.

ApocalypseShadow481d ago

I'd like Motor Storm, Tourist Trophy, Pod Racer, NFS Hot Pursuit 2, F355 Challenge and Mod Nation Racers. Just to start. Could use a lot more over the years.

Abnor_Mal481d ago

While I have no problem with circuit racers,, I would prefer more open world driving/racing games in vr.

Living cities with real traffic with drivers obeying road rules for the most part. Stopping for red lights, yielding for merging traffic and traffic jams.

I use to love just driving around in Midnight Club LA listening to the radio and using my Logitech wheel. I still do the same in the Crew1/2 but it’s not the same.

I’d also like to drive through GTA5s Los Santos in first person in vr but that’s not going to happen with a wheel on PS5.
