Great choice. Astro Bot: Rescue Mission was amazing! Excited to see what the studio has in store for us.

Astrobot is my all time psvr favorite game.
I'm hoping for a sequel. 🤞

I liked it better than some other well known platformers that I won't name here because it'll just start a flame war. Some truly innovative gameplay that took full advantage of VR, and an amazing soundtrack to compliment it.

Yeah I'd agree 100% playing astrobot well into adulthood is the first time a platformer has taken me back to feeling like I'm 6 again playing crash Bandicoot or Mario 64 for the first time.
I've played all the remakes of my childhood favourites and they are good but none of them make me feel the pure wonder and joy of discovery like astrobot does.

They are actually promoting people who developed games. This could be great for creative freedom

looking forward to their next (vr) project. astrobot and moss proved the vr titles don't need to first person to make them work.

AnubisG1565d ago

For me, it is better if they aren't first person because if it is first person, I tend to get really sick.

Astro bot is one of the best games of the entire generation.

Kind of wish they’d expand the series outside of VR. I’d love to play a full fledged Astro Bot game on PS5.

ShadowWolf7121566d ago

The VR is what makes it. VR in and of itself has the potential to revolutionize the platforming genre, and this game is the proof. Taking it out of the VR space would remove a lot of what makes it special.

I remember people saying the same for Tearaway on Vita. That the Vita made that game what it is. Same with Gravity Rush. Both played fine on PS4. Curious and serious question, not flaming. What makes Astrobot not work on anything outside VR?

Profchaos1566d ago

I recall tearaway didn't do as well on ps4 as it did vita

rainslacker1565d ago

Both those games engaged players differently between the two platforms. So, while they may not have been necessary, they added weight to the inclusion of their unique features on the vita.

That's hilarious because he did and said the same thing with 2K Marin who developed Bioshock 2

They've been closed since 2013 but not officially acknowledged

He just doesn't want the backlash so pretends there's no issue.

There are no "thoughtful" ads in video games, EA

I think the only type of games that can gets away with it would be sport games, having those sponsors ads on the side like on real life.

But don't put freaking Doritos ads in Star Wars or something, it breaks the immersion. If it is a pop-up ads, then big no.

Hofstaderman1d 2h ago

EA can thoughtfully eff themselves.

EA coming back for the crown of being perceived as the worst company in gaming.

Chocoburger9h ago(Edited 9h ago)

One of my favorite series is the THPS franchise, and it was packed with ads, but it didn't bother me. Posters for skateboard companies, JEEP, and Nokia phones. It did sort of fit in with the game world, but that was the past, these days ad would be intentionally intrusive or unskippable loading screen type of imagery. Ugh, I know EA would do it in a horrible fashion. Screw them.
