Bautista has been very open and active in trying to play as Marcus for the Gears movie, so this is a nice nod, or perhaps a bit of foreshadowing for the movie news.

How so? Gears 4 introduces the DeeBees which are robotic enemies through most of the game. Gears 5 is now doing a Linda Hamilton/T-800 crossover which is a human vs robot story as well.

Yeah, they're totally "relying" (lol) on this guy. Gears of War doesn't have enough clout - they need this guy being advertised in people's 'Community' tabs to excite long time fans.
