PLAY Magazine writes: "Beast Rider is a pure action game, free of prompts, navigation, wordy cinematics, quick time events, inventory screens or item management, and based on swordplay, beast riding and magic-period. In an era of games stuffed with excess and all manner of diversions to draw the player out of the game, Secret Level have forged those fundamentals into an enormous game that sucks you in and keeps you riveted by constantly building on its core while traversing some of the most grandiose panoramas ever produced out of polygons. Not panoramas as in periodically peering over a great expanse-the "levels" in Beast Rider are panoramas; you can always see the entire region. It oozes seventh-generation technology."
Okay, Sega. the devs of Streets of Rage 4 together and let's make a new Golden Axe happen.
Not every game made the transition to 3D as smoothly as Mario or Zelda. Here are 15 games that made the worst transition from 2D to 3D.
Why do you have a screen from Street Fighter X Tekken for Street Fighter EX?
Joe from GamersFTW writes about 5 of the worst games that have happened as a result of rebooting a video game franchise
Can someone put a pillow over Sonic's face and hold it down until he stops struggling? It'll be an act of kindness.
So many disappointments. It's so sad when a well loved franchise looks like it's dying in front of your eyes. (I miss you Sonic, I hope you come back some day)
I dunno, I think these games are great in a certain way. They're a fantastic counter argument against reboots in general and that at least is something
Man I am absolutely loving this game. Its really sad that this game has received the low scores that it has because it doesn't deserve them. Damn you IGN. I believe that too many sites (IGN, Eurogamer, etc) gave up on the game way too early and didn't really give the game its chance to show what its all about. The game is kind of slow in the beginning but serves as a good opportunity to get used to the game mechanics before moving on to the later levels where you really have to know what you are doing to proceed.
I definitely recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of pure action games. However, if you do try the game out I urge you to give it some time before declaring the game a dud ala IGN.
Oh and how could I forget to mention the most wonderful aspect of the game, the lovely Tyris. Need I say more?
