Other than collecting Pigs, chickens and snakes...and killing the same skeletons over and over....what great content is there? I want to buy this so bad, and enjoyed myself in the beta...but, there just isnt any info on the "great content" people talk about

Well I won't disagree with you as I see the same issue. I actually had a great experience with the beta, found a random kid who showed me what to do, we sailed and got treasure, fought skeletons. This game has a lot of charm, but I only got to play it a couple of times. I really don't know how much that experience I could enjoy over and over.

As far as content goes you may be right, but I feel like this game may not need it to succeed. Look at minecraft, I don't understand what happens in that game other than chopping at resources but it's insanely popular.

How about more varied and different enemies?? Not just the same skeletons and sharks over and over?? More varied and different quests? Not just collecting the same pigs, snakes, and chickens...for the same npc, again and again?
How about more varied areas? WIth different animals/monsters/quests to find?
Multiple big hub like areas where a lot of player controlled pirates are hanging out, trading(better in game economy), doing events with each other?

If the updates are CONSTANT....WEEKLY, then there isnt an issue with Day one content....as long as new areas/events/npc's/islands /items are added QUICKLY

They said we'd definitely be able to preload, but they're trying to jam as much in before launch day so the final build isn't ready yet... but will be in time for preload.

Best news ever about this game now ive jumped from PSPro to Xbox1X - no clans (yet) in this game but..... "to gather together a band of salty sea dogs, you can either play with friends or join up USING OUR HANDY MATCHMAKING SYSTEM" (or similar words at least, the important bit is in caps... Game now sorted for me! I was hoping for clans but this will do nicely.

A huge chunk of the game is your interaction with OTHER players. A review of a game without reviewing a one of the core components is no review at all.

So this is the first time I really looked at the water simulations in this game, and I'm wondering why everyone thinks it's so realistic? It looks good sure, but water when lapping against a boat, does not in any way behave the way it's shown here. A boat displaces the water in front of it as it moves. The waves don't just keep on going like they normally do. I also see plenty of movement through the water which makes it seem like its gliding through the water, with no foces from that water making a seeming dent in how the boat moves. While large boats aren't affected by waves that much, the kinds of waves they show in some of those shots would have a boat pitching much more than they show. In shots where a boat is moored, they show some somewhat choppy waves, and the boat is pitching in the water. But a ship of that size wouldn't be moving that much except in very heavy tides.

For all the hype, it seems that it's people misjudging good looking, for realistic.

Everything I've read about this game said that the water looked amazing. I don't recall anyone claiming it had the best water simulation but obviously I must have missed it.

I have to admit this looks a lot better than the closed beta I played last month. I was really worried after playing though I did read a lot of content was kept out for various reasons.

Haven't the devs watched any of the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movies?" Or watched that 'How to live as a Pirate' episode on the "Conquest' tv show?

I thought living the "Pirates Life 'is ambushing & chasing down Merchants a Trade vessels to overwhelm them take all their loot, scuttle their ships, make prisoners tell you their trade routes an make them walk the plank. They should have NPC Merchants and Traders vessels for you hunt and rob. What about raiding small towns and sacking them. Where is the ALL POWERFUL NAVY? Players should always be hunted by always be chased and avoiding the more powerful NPC NAVAL Vessels at sea and on land and towns you should always be aware and avoid being arrested or killed by groups of naval troops.

It plain sucks the only NPC characters you fight in the game are those cheap "skeletors"

The more I played the game the less I enjoyed it. The carrot on the stick just isnt large enough for the grind for me. Turning in repetitive quest after quest just to get cosmetics is boring. You arent working towards anything that actually gives you anything except for the "Pirate Legend" which gives you what? "Legendary Quests" that give you coins to buy more cosmetics? I know they teased about hunting a Kracken which is cool but this game just feels so shallow to me. I dont want to play a game for 8 hours to be rewarded with a hat... Usually other games have gear that affects stats and since this game doesnt the gear really is just cosmetic and so it means nothing in the concept of the game. Which means that you arent "achieving" anything of value to help you get further.

I will be on this game day one hoping it changes my mind but after playing the beta a few times, I already got pretty bored of it.

I used to be worried about this games so called “lack of content” but I really enjoyed the beta and had a blast with my crew at pretty much any given moment. I can see myself playing this for a long time with my friends. Maybe not so much on my own but that doesn’t seem to be the way this game should be played too much anyways.
