Give me a damn break. So tired of knee-jerk reactions to mediocre games. Probably just bait for the site but still. Did reviewer ENJOY it? Sure, probably, but a 10 is ENJOY ENJOY, gameplay, graphics, all of it, and I can already tell you the lame first-person clunky combat isn't worthy of including in a 10/10. What a joke, impetuous reaction to this game. Hope it's enjoyed but just so tired of the impulsive reviewer sites.

Codedan2284d ago

The game is great so far minus a few quest bugs, and these games are different then other rpgs. People have to realize this going into them, and not think everything will be mainstream fantasy rpgs....

Pantz2284d ago

This game looks amazing on Xbox One X. 10/10 sounds about right.

DankSinatra2284d ago (Edited 2284d ago )

But he's not talking about how it looks on a console, if a score is seriously based on how the game looks to you then we've actually hit the point that shows that gaming no longer is about fun but graphics, smh.

"This game looks amazing on Xbox One X. 10/10 sounds about right."

Every article aint about Xbox one X give your self a break ffs and read the article... The review comes from Xbox tavern and this dude quickly assumes it looks best on Xbox one X... lmao!

IamTylerDurden12284d ago

It's multiplatform and it's receiving average scores overall. It looks interesting to me but with Shadow of the Colossus, MHW, and Crossing Souls i'm not about to drop $60 on this.

bluefox7552284d ago

Looks better on PC, but I'm not sure of you're aware, but games are reviewed based on more than their visuals.

starchild2284d ago

Different strokes for different folks. We're not all going to like the same things. There's no one right score for any game. It's highly subjective.

CloudStrife9002284d ago

This ^

In fact starchild, I'm stealing that quote :]

yeahokwhatever2284d ago

is that even a quote you can steal? It's pretty much a universal concept.

frostypants2284d ago

But in OP's defense, it *is* kind of weird to give a 10/10 when even the people who like the game acknowledge that it has a lot of bugs.

CloudStrife9002284d ago

You're absolutely entitled to your opinion, and I can respect that. I haven't played the game myself so I cannot speak of its quality or engagement. I do, however, stand by the reviewer. If he gave it a 10, he gave it a 10 for good reason. We don't hand out high scores like candy, you can see our last 20+ reviews makes that clear. In fact, I personally gave Dynasty Warriors 9 a 4.5, which I believe is the lowest score for it yet.

I'm totally with you when it comes to impulse scoring. Though I can assure you that that isn't the case here.

yeahokwhatever2284d ago

I've been hearing a lot in other reviews about the game being great, but completely riddled with bugs.

75 on metacritic seems fitting. Game looks way to mediocre and buggy for a 10/10...

Dark_Knightmare22284d ago

Nothing about the game looks bland and yeah it's buggy but what game isn't hell witcher 3 had how many patches on console

paintedgamer19842284d ago (Edited 2284d ago )

Im sorry bland might been too harsh... i changed it to mediocre. surely you can agree it doesnt even deserve a 9... 8 at most

Dark_Knightmare22284d ago

I mean it depends on a person and what they think it deserves. I myself having put some hours into it really like it and would probably give it an 8 no higher than 8.5.

Elwenil2284d ago

This is obviously going to be one of those polarizing games. It does seem to have a few bugs here and there but in the Twitch streams I have been watching today I never saw anything "game breaking". Meaning a few crashes, and occasional quest conversation that didn't go right but honestly, most of the problems I saw were people trying to take the game off the rails and do what they wanted to do. I honestly don't see how someone can expect a scripted game to not get a little screwed up when people try to make it into Grand Theft Auto. But bottom line, this seems to be a game for people who want to get into the story, who want to play the character out and who don't mind not having a nanny to tell you what to do 24/7. I know a few people who absolutely love it and are after me to buy it. I also know a few who regretted buying it and it seems most of them are on consoles. Is the game a bad port to consoles or is it the difference in the mindset of the players? It's hard to say but it definitely is a love it or hate it kind of game. Me, I am going to wait a bit before I buy it but to me it looks like a cool game to get into some medieval action since Mount and Blade Bannerlord is taking a while to release.

frostypants2284d ago (Edited 2284d ago )

@Elwenil: "most of the problems I saw were people trying to take the game off the rails and do what they wanted to do."

But this game has been marketed as being exactly the sort of game that encourages such behavior. There were claims about going off on your own, and the world around you would proceed regardless, and you could jump back into things at will. It was half the reason I'm excited for it. If you are saying that it isn't like that, then I'm personally confused AF.

Elwenil2284d ago

I don't see it. It's being marketed as an open world game where you "Solve quests in multiple ways, then face the consequences of your decisions." To me that says something like Witcher 3, where you can do the main story quests or side quests at will, not that it's a sandbox where you can try to pick a fight with every guard you see and try to rob every house you come across. The game does appear to be a bit like Bethesda games where they give you enough rope to hang yourself and if you piss off the wrong people, it tends to grind the storyline to a halt. That may or may not be the case, but it seems to be from what I have seen of people goofing off in streams. Admittedly I am not watching too closely as I want to play this at some point so I am not wanting to spoil the story by watching everything.

Game is certainly beautiful and challenging at times. Lock picking was not as easy as I thought it would be. The saving feature makes it tough right now by not having a stock pile of saving potions. I did have a huge bug trying to get the talk action to come up on the coal helper at the beginning which took 45 minutes or more to finally get past! Everytime I went to go buy coal it would default to Rob!

All in all though the game is fun, but a tad slow. Overall I give it an 8. I feel their is some input lag when playing that should not be in this game. None of my other games do this.

3-4-52284d ago

BS...10/10?

Stop.....It has plenty of flaws.

The game is around 8.5-9, which is good but it's nowhere near perfect.

Just Bought it Thank you after checking reviews alot people enjoyed it Worth Picking up for that Price.

Spenok28d ago

I already own the physical copy on PS4, and even bought it on Steam for my Steamdeck... but I went ahead and bought this as well. Because, why not?

Aussiesummer27d ago

If you just like wasting money sure.

Spenok27d ago

It's not wasting money, it's me supporting the developer, in hopes it helps them in the long run to continue making amazing games.

This one was certainly not a needed purchase. As for the Steam copy, I wanted to be able to take the game on the go, and it was on a good deal besides.

thesoftware73028d ago

Yeah, good price, saw this yesterday on SX as well
