I played the heck outta this game for two months but after I realized my wife was getting hotter and going out with girlfriends more often, I decided I'd better put the game aside forever. This game is addictive, I've played it but I've also quit it. But honestly, to go through THAT much trouble to just do something like raid dungeons and instances is just beyond idiotic.

How is his life any different than yours? How is playing video games any different than going to the bar every night? Watching CNN? Going to the movies? There is no difference. These are all hobbies. This guy clearly enjoys his hobby enough to go to the "extreme" and own several accounts. You know nothing of his daily life outside of this vast, and impressive gaming setup, and yet you mock him.

Hell I say kudos to him. Not only is he enjoying his hobby. A hobby he pays for.. but he has found a way around what a lot of MMO players have found.... the frustration of trying to form a raid. Especially those in casual guilds, you know how annoying it can be sometimes. This guy, has found a way around it. So what if he spends about $450 (usd) in subscription fees a month. The point is.. he enjoys what he is doing. I know people who spend that weekly in a bar. Since he is able to play so many accounts at once, how do you know he really has no life? You spend 2-3 hours a night maybe more on 1 game. 1 account. He can spend the same time, and run several accounts. Several games.

I played WoW for a couple of years.. leveling 1 character at a time. If I had the hardware to run more than that. I would have leveled my 4 lvl 70's at the same time, and cut out the middle man.

As long as he is "having fun". He could have a form of autism which makes him oddly addicted to games. He could have been a deprived child, and now that he's grown enough to do what he wants, he plays WoW. In any case, he's not:
Killing people,
Abusing or soliciting drugs,
Robbing anyone,

From what we know, he pays for all his stuff, so he must work. It's no different than when your playing (favorite game) and your girlfriend turns over, away from you because she told you already, so many times, to "cut that s#!t off, I wanna (enter adjective here)!"
I'm sure that if we calculated just how much money we spend on games alone, and mention it to a non-gamer, they would judge us and say things like "you know what you could have did with that money?"

But all kidding aside, this kind of behavior is what ruins online gaming for others. Multi-boxing on MMOs gives a significant advantage to those who do it, specifically in PvP, where a multi-boxer can literally kill someone with one spell that just so happens to be multiplied, in this case, by 36. That's hardly fair to those who don't have the money to blow on multiple rigs and copies of the game, let alone an interest to do so. It's a form of cheating any way you look at it and it appalls me that Blizzard's policy even allows it. Can you say greed?

I disagree completely on the multi box issue. When you have 2-5 accounts going, I can see an advantage. It is much easier to monitor and keep up with a few toons. But if you actually run 36 at once, not so much. In this guys case, 31 shamans. By the time he gets to his 3rd or 4th target, any smart group loaded with a few mages, locks and warriors should be able to mess him up really good. Not to mention, the downside of having to wait until all characters are alive again, and regrouped to do what you planned.

Like I said 2-5 much more of a threat. Sure 31 shamans rocking chain lightning and chain heals is going to be a pain, but any good players with 1/2 a brain would clean this guys clock. Just don't stand in front of him =D

You have the right to disagree, but I don't understand your logic. It doesn't matter if it's 2-5 or 36, it's still an advantage over any person playing a single account. Let's say his chain lightning hits for as low as 700 damage to any surrounding enemies aside from his target, which hits for a lot more. Now let's multiply that by 36. That's 25200 damage. That's a killing blow to most classes. It's overkill. He can do at least that amount of damage every 6 seconds, not to mention chain heal his own raid.

You say any good players with 1/2 a brain would clean this guy's clock. So? How does that change anything? You would still need a raid of people to do it, which takes time to accumulate. In instances such as BG, it wouldn't even matter. He's still able to kill people in single blows.

It would take a RAID of people to kill ONE multi-boxing bastard. Think about that for a minute. How is that fair? He's not a god damn world boss. He's one person. Any player not pathetic enough to pay for 36 accounts, not to mention the 36 copies of the game and its expansions, should be able to kill him like one.

It's much easier to take on a multi boxer than it is to take on multiple people. If the group, or multi boxing player/s get the jump on you. Lights out! If you can get the jump on them, you have a chance. A larger chance than you do taking on multiple people. Who can dedicate healers and dps.

I don't see the disadvantage. You still have a way to victory, no matter the makeup. Where the multi boxer is more "robot like" with a one track mind play style. Yea, if the multi boxer gets the jump on you, I guess you could possibly call it a disadvantage for you. But any other time, it's more of a disadvantage to him. Not you. Blizzards push for class equality, and balance is to thank for that. Regardless of whether it's 2, 5 or 36. If you can get the same number of players as he has accounts. Chances are, hes a goner. If not, the battle should be damn close!

You call it pathetic. I call it taking that extra step to win. Or in this guys case, 35(1, plus the 35 extra accounts).

As for the BG's, I would rather go against a 10man, multi boxing WSG group. Than a pre made server/guild team.

Anyway, as a final thought.. if you can match the multi boxing players numbers. It's a fair match. If you can't, you probably shouldn't win anyway. It really has nothing to do with multi boxing, more along the lines of being out numbered.

Obviously. It doesn't matter a single bit if this guy can be taken down. What does matter is it eliminates any chance of a fair fight between TWO individual players, whether in BG or in the game world. If I'm playing on a PvP server and I come across a multi-boxer with 36 accounts, do you think it's fair that he can kill me with a single multiplied spell? It doesn't matter who got the jump. I can't compete with that. That's called an unfair advantage. No matter how you spin it, it's not fair to people who choose not to do this. I shouldn't be forced to do the same thing in order to compete. If this guy wasn't PvPing with his accounts and stuck to PvE, I suppose I wouldn't really care. But the bottom line is people will be killed instantly with a single spell, which is something people who don't multi-box can't do. That's the difference.
