Why “Boob Streamers" Aren’t the Only Problem on Twitch

One Twitch streamer played a game fully and refunded it live, outside of the return time period. Is this ethical?

Article complains about people trying to shock or capitalize on others successes. Uses boobs as a promo.

Then talks about something entirely different the rest of the article. The irony is off the charts

Mr_Writer852371d ago

Your failure to read is the irony.

I'll give you a clue, in the title the words "aren't the only problem".
Indicates that the article isn't focused on boob streamers.

Goldby2371d ago

Then why have that as the title and picture.

Because that gets the clicks. Simply as that

rainslacker2370d ago

Why is it cheatcc articles always get people calling them out for their clickbait titles and premises, only to have a few people devoutly defend them within the comment section....usually with insults, and some loose justification which actually doesn't seem to recognize the OP's point.

C-H-E-F2371d ago

why isn't this complained about with movies? food? drink? clothing? commercials.... i swear.

Mr Pumblechook2370d ago (Edited 2370d ago )

@yarbie1000 - that is the perfect appraisal.

I came to read an article that would be substantially about boob streamers, but it was only a quick reference in the intro. The actual story is a a ResetEra rehash about a guy who lied to get a Steam refund. Clickbait.

xHeavYx2371d ago

I have no issues with boob streamers.

butterknuckles2370d ago (Edited 2370d ago )

I'm in the pro boob boat. I'd never give them money cause ive never understood that whole pay to watch someone play but if they want to flaunt it who am I to tell them no. Obviously twitch purists would disagree but my arguement would be just watch a different twitch stream.

2370d ago
Zeref2370d ago

I mean... are we really complaining about boobs? who doesn't like boobs?

spoonard2370d ago

People who have no social skills outside of their shitty internet troll personas and can't see or touch REAL boobs. So they get all pissed off when they see these pretty twitch girls making that fat twitch money.

DonkeyWalrus2370d ago

@spoonard
I thought those were the people who watched boob streamers though...

rainslacker2370d ago

I'm more an ass man....but watching someone's butt while they play a game seems pointless, if not impractical when I can find plenty of butts to watch without being distracted by a game without resorting to lets plays.

Granted, boob streamers, and potential ass streamers, are much more welcome than those "reaction streamers" who always have weird stupid expressions on their faces in the thumbnails of their videos.

Loktai2371d ago

Boob streamers are only a problem for the type of people who want to call things "problematic". If youre not forced to watch them its not a problem. Oldest profession there is...

AnubisG2371d ago

Yeah.....I remember in the history books reading about boot streamers and how they influenced the downfall of ancient Rome. Heavy stuff....

Jk😆

zerocarnage2371d ago

I'd say there's a difference between these and babestation and studio 66 girls lol..

zuul90182371d ago (Edited 2371d ago )

Kinda flawed argument dont you think though?
Lets see a counter argument using that logic....

Kiddy porn is only a problem for the type of people who want to call things "Problematic". If youre not forced to watch them its not a problem.

Now i understand not all comparisons are fair and this is a bit of a false equivalency but i think the point ive made is valid, which is that the logic behind that argument is flawed. I think anyone that is being fair could agree that.

None of this is to say I do or dont agree with your point (i think all streamers are ruining the world) just that the argument behind it is only sound if you apply it ONLY to your scenario.

Zeref2370d ago (Edited 2370d ago )

"a bit of false equivalency"?
That's an understatement...

Dude, We're literally complaining about boobs... Why?

spoonard2370d ago (Edited 2370d ago )

If you don't like it, don't watch it. How is that a flawed argument? You're point about child porn is the very peak of false equivalency by the way, not just a bit of false equivalency.

fenome2370d ago

@zuul

Did you seriously just try to compare a grown woman showing cleavage to kiddie porn by...logic..?

ffs

silvacrest2370d ago

i know right? out of all the comparisons he could have made he goes with that, unbelievable.....

fenome2370d ago (Edited 2370d ago )

I mean honestly, besides all that, the "don't like it then don't look at it" thing totally applies here. Women are wearing the same things or less when they're out swimming in public (I love Summer), is it a big deal? No. If it offends you do you try to rush out and throw towels over them? No. Well I'd sure hope not anyways because that's just rude.

I'd also recommend anyone offended by the human body to stay away from any artwork from any era since we learned how to draw.

rainslacker2370d ago (Edited 2370d ago )

Maybe he was being satirical....you know, taking things to the most extreme outcome to try and show the fallacy of common thinking.

Although, I'm not sure why it's necessary here...given that most people are OK with breasts.

Personally, I don't watch any twitch streamers, but I'd imagine I'd much rather watch "boob streamers", rather than the super nerdy annoying guy who asserts their geekdom and condescending attitude at every possible chance like the comic book store owner on The Simpsons. Although, I'd imagine some of those do have larger breasts than some of the boob streamers, who mostly seem to like to wear cleavage inducing clothing, without having much else to watch otherwise.

So, to shorten my point....who cares what the streamer looks like, and why is it a problem?

Oh, according to the article it's not, it's just a way to get clicks.....kind of like what the boob streamers do.

"Why cheatscc boob articles aren't the only problem with their writing skills"

zuul90182370d ago (Edited 2370d ago )

If thats what you read from my comment you didn't understand it.

I merely stated his argument seems flawed, and works when its ONLY applied to his case. (This was why I summarized my comment cause i assumed a lot wouldnt grasp what I was getting at.)

As for why I chose that out of "all the comparisons i could have made" its because its an extreme and it was to demonstrate how far you could reach with it. Although still a stretch (I acknowledge this)

But instead of being reasonable insult my intelligence more.

fenome2370d ago (Edited 2370d ago )

@zuul

I wasn't trying to insult your intelligence.

@rainslacker

Cheatcc article about final Fantasy vii remake, thumbnail of cindy from vx. Lmao

They must have used that thumbnail on like 20 different articles.

Sucks too, I liked Cheatcc a long ass time ago, I was even on their forums.

Call Of Duty On Game Pass Is A Big Risk Big Reward Gamble

Most folks that have a Gamepass subscription will not spend the $70, they will use Gamepass instead to play COD. MS will most likely make their money from some solely PC players & some solely PS5 owners. Even some PC players may opt to use Gamepass instead of spending $70. I would think MS would want to make every dime they could from retail sales. As long as they put new releases of COD day one on Gamepass, MS will lose out on some sales of COD.

Nice. It's really cool that PC players get to play this masterpiece.

PrinceOfAnger1d 6h ago

It has surpassed spider man now
it's 71k+
game did this with way shorter time than spider man.

itsmebryan8h ago(Edited 8h ago)

@prince
I'm confused. Does that number mean total players at one time playing like a snapshot
or total sales? If it's the former that's not very accurate because I know I'm not the only person that buys games and plays them later and that number is not included.

RNTody1d 4h ago

Great, I loved this game. Definitely think it's Sucker Punch's best work to date!

rippermcrip1d 4h ago

Is this going to be the new thing thing? Articles about Steam reviews? Which of course was in response to the false article about the review bombings in the first place.

Christopher1d 1h ago

Hey, just a heads up that the new owners did open news to Steam updates, but we try our best to not allow them to go on daily updates unless relevant to some other news. I understand this isn't everyone's cup and tea and sympathize, but the door has been open. If you feel it's 'too much' please do PM me or submit a ticket to the mod team. Thank you.

shinoff218317h ago

I came here to post this link in that specific article. 84 perce t is pretty good. How many bad reviews were there like 5

GamerzElite1d 4h ago

This is good game and Ghost eliminate all fake outrage.

CrimsonWing691d 2h ago (Edited 1d 2h ago )

I always get confused by this, but is 72k good sales numbers for a game? I keep seeing games fail at selling 2.5 million and that they need to be on multiple platforms but is an additional 72k adding much?

Fishy Fingers1d 2h ago

Im not sure how its confusing :\

72k actively playing. Not 72k sold.

A good example is Helldivers 2, 6m sold, 450k (at its peak) active players.

But how many swords swung is what we're all really waiting for.

shinoff218317h ago

Lmao. How many swords swung. I was hoping for how many steps

wesnytsfs6h ago

And its how many years old from initial release.

Crows901d 2h ago

72k is concurrent
...that is not the sold figure.

Michiel19891d 2h ago

for one they already had a huge launch on the playstation, they don't need to sell 5m to make the porting to pc profitable and as pointed out below that number you see is just the people playing it at this moment.

Plague-Doctor2723h ago(Edited 23h ago)

Also from the insomniac leak we know these PC ports are a quick turnaround and budgeted around $2-4 million. At 100k sales they break even including Steams cut. They may not sell millions but they are a great ROI

elazz13h ago(Edited 13h ago)

72k concurrent. That is a global number. People who bought the game are not playing at the same time because of timezones, working schedules, holidays, events... There is no good rule of thumb but you can extrapolate based on other games that also released sales data. Then it is clear that the PC release alone accounts for at least 500K copies sold on steam, maybe closer to 700-800K. Probably will sell over a million this extended weekend.

According to steamspy and other data gathering sites games like Days Gone, Spider Man, God Of War, Horizon Zero Dawn have sold 2 to 5 million copies on Steam. So I expect Ghost to reach similar numbers. Probably even surpass it.

PSN Store "Weekend Offer" Includes Loads of AAA Titles, Here's the Full List

Sony has also launched the PSN Store "Weekend Offer" this May 17, and this one includes a lot of AAA titles, and 2K-published games.

TwoPicklesGood1d 7h ago

Some good games but they are all old and should be a lot cheaper than what they are on that sale. Hard pass.
