The game doesn’t appear to be compatible with Chinese core values.

Oh no.... and China is such a Bastian of reason and freedom. Surely this games is now doomed? 😂😂😂

cleft52405d ago

China is a huge market for PC gaming. I know we dont traditionally think that way, but having a game be successful in China is actually a huge deal. Obviously, they will be fine without China, but that is a huge market they could potentially lose out on.

indyman77772405d ago

Hey Gunstar75 when it is in our favore we call it freedom....when it is in others favore it is called morals or core values.

Eonjay2404d ago

But China's actions are nothing new. They only just unbanned consoles altogether. For them, its about control. They even restrict internet access.

notachance2405d ago (Edited 2405d ago )

China is one of, if not the biggest online gaming scene in the world

Microtransaction runs rampant in there, from mobile to PC games, many free-to-play or MT based games almost always has China as one of their main target. PC users there heavily outnumbered console players, truly the land of lord Gaben.

Judging by the comments many western gamers don't know about this fact eh?
that's because the mighty hands of google doesn't reach there

goken2405d ago

yes i believe you are right.
from what i can tell gamers in China are well used to microtransactions, and many gamers are willing to fork out.

console gamers are very much in the minority. of course China banning consoles doesn't help, they just lifted the ban a couple years back, but there are still too much regulation, games that are available for ps4 n xbo are really limited, shocking if you checkout the China PSN store

AzubuEntus2405d ago

"China is one of, if not the biggest online gaming scene in the world"

I thought South Korea has the biggest online gaming scene?

Dabigsiebowski2405d ago

Not since Starcraft 2 died a hardcore death

Rivia20162405d ago

As a Chinese I must agree with @notachance, in fact China is The Biggest mobile gaming market in the world (with Tencent, Netease and such making huge money from MT), and PC do dominates there, for some historical reasons (China's government forbid gaming consoles since, 2000 maybe? till around 2015)

We Chinese gamers love gaming just as you do, be it PC, mobile or console. I got PC, PS4, (PSP, PSV, PS2 back in my younger days). I personally prefer AAA SP games, have little interest for MP games like PUBG, but it is extremely popular among my fellow people, as I know.

So the thing is, hey, it's not Chinese people who don't understand video games, it's their government who don't.

Big business has nothing to do with freedom. The Chinese gaming market in 2013 was valued at $13billion. In 2017 stands at $27billion. This is across all gaming platforms in China. If I had an online competitive game I would definitely want access to the Chinese market.

China is valued as the #1 market, the US #2 then closely followed by Japan, Germany the UK and South Korea.

All that said, the proposed ban seems petty. Chinese cores and values, really. This is a country that seems proud of stealing ideas from others at any cost with a disregard for IPs.

Cy2405d ago

Lol, most of the Chinese economy isn't "compatible with socialist core values.” It's why they're an economic powerhouse and not a failed state collapsing under its own weight.

shammgod2405d ago

Bet you been waiting to drop that gem all day

Relientk772405d ago

China doesn't understand video games

notachance2405d ago (Edited 2405d ago )

and yet e-sport gamers are treated like celebrities there,
and has one of the biggest game company owners in the world (League of Legends among many, many other big online games are owned by Tencent, and is a major stockholder of Epic Games, Activision Blizzard, etc)
and a huge numbers of PC Master Race, so huge Valve decided to make an exclusive Dota server just for 1 country alone.
believe me there's a damn huge numbers of PC master race there, and not just there, mainland Asia is occupied by PC Master Race.

clearly it's you who doesn't understand asia video gaming scene, and all the other blind western disagrees, oh my god lmao, don't know anything about asia eh?

They want to protect their children from microtransactions and the horrors of modern gambling addiction. Such a noble cause, the rest of the world could learn a lot from the Chi-Coms.

zuul90182405d ago

Doesnt china have the most gold farmers for MMORPGs?
I remember back when I played WoW (2005ish) they were selling that all over. Seems to me you could make the argument gold farmers were the cause of microtransactions.
"Wanna spend real money for fake money so you can get ahead?" Doesnt seem all that dissimilar to Shadow of Wars Microtransactions.

opinionated2405d ago

I was being sarcastic, sorry.

343_Guilty_Spark2405d ago

The Chinese could learn from their cousins the Japanese

Razzer2405d ago (Edited 2405d ago )

Cousins?

Weeblordbad2405d ago

Yeah...I don't think he knows much about the region.

343_Guilty_Spark2405d ago

Yeah although the Japanese have more Korean haplotypes than chinese.

Every PlayStation Studios game available now on Windows PC

Windows Central writes: "Many PlayStation Studios games that are ported to PC get dedicated PS5 DualSense support, which allows users to experience haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support without actually having to own a PS5.

According to Hermen Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios, it's still the company's intent to launch the bigger single-player games on PS5 first, before later bringing the games to PC. This might not be the case for multiplayer games however, which are considered okay to launch simultaneously on console and PC."

My guess is after god of war. Probably last of us 2 that's a almost 4 year old game now and by the time it's released on pc it will be more than 4 years old or close to 5.

Elda1d 1h ago

Every old Playstation game that is now on PC.

shinoff218316h ago

Right. I definitely see what a headlined from a website named windows central was trying to do though. It's cute little wordplay to help out the green box

Flewid63814h ago

Are PlayStation games no longer good or worth playing once they are old?

Elda14h ago

I'm guessing my comment went over your head.

Good at least they can sell hardware

Can FSR 3 frame generation deliver the 120fps dream on PS5 and Xbox?

Frame generation technology has arrived on consoles, amplifying frame-rates and potentially transforming experiences.

adds between 8.3-15.3 milliseconds of latency on the game they tested, - no thanks

darksky1d 5h ago

Base latency is 130.8ms and frame gen takes that up to 139.1ms. A 7% increase in latency is hardly a deal breaker.

Zenzuu1d 4h ago

That's hardly a deal breaker and not really noticeable. Even the folks at Digital Foundry said so as well.

darthv721d 22h ago

Impressive results... sadly I don't have a 120hz display. I was thinking this technique could increase fps on any game that supports it regardless of the display.

purple1011d 22h ago (Edited 1d 22h ago )

I have a vrr telly in the lounge,

On another point, what if it were the other way around where the developer aims for higher fps, then used something like pssr to make the resolution higher, that might be better?

Any which way, PS5 pro sure looks interesting now, being they have already doubled frame rate, with JUST just this fsr3.0

sagapo1d 3h ago

It’s up to dev’s to implement FSR 3 support tho but most probably will I guess (hope).

Eonjay13h ago

Yes it would increase the framerate but it would add more noticeable latency. The impact of latency goes down the more natural frames produced. So a monitor that can push bast 60 will naturally allow the game to operate much smoother. Add VRR to this and now you have a much more enjoyable experience.

BlackDoomAx1d 5h ago

Can it deliver the 60fps dream?

purple10119h ago(Edited 19h ago)

no, it delivers approx 80fps.

which is why I say why not target 60fps with this new tech and use the upscaling pssr, (Sonys version of Nvidia's DLSS, that seems so popular in the pc realm)

then we have best of both, better believe ps5pro will be doing all the above.

andy851d 4h ago

Now I've extensively tried it I'm not too fussed about 120 fps. Give me a locked 60 and more details and I'm more than happy

anast1d ago (Edited 1d ago )

120 is a bit slow. My eyes can't look at anything less than 260fps.
