Nintendo Switch’s Launch Lineup is Secretly Great

Compare it to Nintendo’s previous launches and it’s booming

Erik73572612d ago (Edited 2612d ago )

In general its first year is whats great, has three system sellers in the first year of it's release.

Granted, maybe even 4 if smash bros gets ported to it but these are ports.....ports of games most people didn't get to play last gen like me who to most of us is new games!

Really excited to try mario kart 8

Out of the seven home consoles, I think Switch can be placed at number three or four in launch software. NES, SNES, Switch and N64 launched with a bonafide all-time classic game (Super Mario Bros., Super Mario World, Super Mario 64 and The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild). Gamecube had the awesome Luigi's Mansion so I would place that number four or five. NES will remain number one, it was a classic launch line-up with classic nostalgia.

That picture represents only JP, US did not get half those

Moonman2612d ago

This system is region free and it's also simple to buy digital games worldwide if you want.

LAWSON722611d ago

Yeah, dont count in my book. If it is not on American websites and retail stores it is not a game on the system.

joab7772612d ago

Nothing better than a SECRET launch lineup!

OCEANGROWNKUSH2612d ago

No secret here, dont even have enough time for all the awesome games. Zelda is much bigger and engrossing than i could have ever imagined so very glad they spaced out the big releases.

I know what you mean I am the same with Zelda amazing game and massive.

Ubisoft to Focus on "Return to Leadership" in Open World Genre, Expand Live Service Experiences

Ubisoft says they are focusing on two "core verticals," and that's to return as a leader in the open world genre, and live service games.

enkiduxiv1d 3h ago

Calling Ubisoft a leader in open world gaming at any point in time would be like calling Dollar General a leader in retail.

excaliburps15h ago

Well, to be fair, they did pump out good open world games before. It was used as a template so much that people now know what it means when you say it's like an Ubi open world collectahon.

shinoff218313h ago

What though? I can't think of one game they had where I liked anything about it. Atleast since the ps3/360 Gen

Kornholic13h ago

If they have never been the leader in open world gaming, then explain me this: why does almost every open world game follow the same tired old Ubisoft open world formula?

Follow the Leader.

Aphrodia1h ago

YO dont' talk bad about the General. There'll be problems...

You were never the leader bro 🤣

shinoff21831d ago (Edited 1d ago )

I don't think they were ever the leader tbh. I've never really cared for any of their open world games. I do wanna try watch dogs 2 because it looks like it's set in San Fran. Looked interesting

Name someone that isn't trying to look us these days maybe cdpr.

Take two, ubi and yes even PlayStation are pushing us to own nothing and be happy with our live service ad injected games on a sub so they can raise prices at will and take access away when they see fit.

If it keeps up I'll be a full time retro gamer and this industry will be crashing hard

As rediculas as it sounds we need government reforms to defend consumer rights
