Rumor: Animal Crossing Game Coming to the Nintendo Switch

Nintendo's been dropping some pretty heavy Animal Crossing hints. Could we see a year one Switch AC title?

They could really use one. If they could hit this holiday season with Super Mario Odyssey, Animal Crossing and the rumored Pokemon Stars/Eclipse/Whateverit'd becalled they'd be in great shape.

It's much more likely that Nintendo will spread their AAA games out. They have almost always done so, and it makes sense as Nintendo's AAA games don't come out too often.

It would be smart to make an Animal Crossing for the system since it's pretty popular in Japan.

If they can get Monster Hunter, Pokémon, Splatoon 2, and Animal Crossing released in Japan within the next year(2017-2018), it'll sell really well in Japan

They did say they'd moved a lot of Wii U projects to Switch. Maybe this is one on them?

That's a huge possibility you would have to consider that Animal Crossing new Leaf released on 3DS and the Wii U did not receive an animal crossing so it is definitely within the realm of possibility that its development shifted over to the vice a while ago but why not show it at their press event?

Btw Animal Crossing was one of the biggest reasons why I never purchased the Wii U and got a 3DS, with me playing shin Megami tensei 4 in the Bravely Default series I probably wasn't going to get a Wii u anyway now that I think about it but Animal Crossing definitely coulda help me change my mind

I don't even know What animal crossing is. Never played it or even looked at it. Although i randomly own 3 animal crossing amiibo that i just picked up in the sales.

If this actually progresses the series then I'm in

I was the bloody Mayor and I still felt like I couldn't do anything. I want the power to change my town the way I see fit, who is allowed in, where they set up a house, where new shops open, change the layout of the river, move or remove rocks in the way of potential structures.

I mean if you've seen some of the Animal Crossing towns which have been modded you'll see how beautiful some of them look.

Oh and include a happiness bar for our villagers. Why is it when I talk to a villager every day and interact with them while ignoring someone else the one I talk to is the one who wants to leave.

So many things to add onto.

1000000% agreed

I want a true successor to Animal Crossing that released on the GameCube.

This is a series that just has so many areas but it could progress to with adding a larger Town ,other cities, more items to craft etc

Animal Crossing city Folk was so Bland that I had an extremely hard time believing that any team spent any considerable amount of years developing that game because you would have to wonder exactly what the hell was going on? It literally felt like it was just a part of the GameCube version even looking at the game side by side and look extremely similar and they just didn't add enough to justify the titles existence.

I absolutely agree with the bar for happiness or some sort of stats for the characters in regards to social interaction, this game is a simulation and I believe that information could help players interact better with the game.

I want to be able to know what buttons to push to get someone to leave my town or what nice gestures I could do to have someone stay by having a bar or meter to track that information.

There's just so much that could be added onto the series that it still surprises me to this day that they've just neglected this series despite being so much to be progressed.

I think they really need to take some inspiration from the Sims. Especially with the build it tools. I want to elevate my town, create hills, cliffs, ramps etc

The world should be big to explore aswell. Not open world but a lot of hubs to keep you busy. These would present new jobs, characters, items, events

Your Village
The Beach
The Town
A Forrest
A Field with a Park
Mountains with Caves
A Snowy Mountain Peak

Oh and let us build our house how we want. If they let us choose where our house is then we could have a choice to pick a big enough space to expand as much as we can pay off...let us load the entire house aswell, no more transition bullshit it's 2017 for this kind of game

@fox- 100% agreed.

There's no reason why both options cannot exist, especially considering all the suggestions you brought up can all be optional for the Casual users

I see no reason for them not to progress the series. they have a plethora of avenues that they could go down.

Crafting needs to be in this game series!

I want to be able to buy more than one house especially knowing this is a long-term series why limit the player?

That would be part of a good start for the switch.
