WHO CARES? Silly sensitive snowflake who can't take a joke, don't pander to these butthurt fanboys.

I remember on Enslaved it referred to a PS3 like machine as old redundant technology, where is peoples sense of humour?

DiceAndRice2639d ago

You have to remember this is Japanese players and Nintendo is really popular over there and I'm guessing they don't like their product being called "trash"

I doubt when it releases in the west that anyone would've cared but in Japan it's not something they are happy about.

hellothere19772638d ago

jpn doesn't care. SE and Plat Games are jpn companies. the ONLY reason this would be a big deal is from the trash SJWs in america taking to social media.

Nitrowolf22638d ago (Edited 2638d ago )

@helloethere1977

That doesnt make sense to me if it was because SJW, otherwise they would have removed the ability to take upskirts, or them keeping panties and such in. They are a japanese company catering to their japanese market as they stated before. If it was because of SJW they would have folded to that crap a long time ago with other areas

I think its silly to remove it because it really isnt that big of a deal.

conanlifts2638d ago

@hellothere1977 i think you are incorrect. Considering the game is not released anywhere except Japan at the moment. Your comment just seems like an excuse to have a dig at Americans. But the game is only out in Japan until March so you are most likely wrong. Or to be more blunt, you are just wrong.

dp2774072638d ago

@dice and Rice
Maybe it just meant if you were in the future and you found a piece of plastic that once played games i would also call it trash for not having value anymore.

kreate2638d ago

I agree w hellothere.

The world has gone far too politically correct. I don't understand why people get so upset about stupid trivial nonsense when there is far worse things going on in the world that they don't take action about.

RememberThe3572638d ago

How is this PC? These are just Nintendo fanboys getting upset.

kevnb2638d ago (Edited 2638d ago )

Probably a Trump supporter.

_-EDMIX-_2638d ago

I think it's sort of a funny tongue and cheek joke I'm not really sure how serious such a thing could possibly be especially to a piece of Hardware that is not physically a person

NecoTehSergal2638d ago

To be emotional and narcissistic is what's trendy, is why Trump won after all. Everyones' tired of it.

rainslacker2638d ago (Edited 2638d ago )

I'd imagine these people would have an aneurysm if they played the Hyperdimension series. The whole game references consoles across the board, sometimes not favorably depending on which character it's in reference to.

People getting upset about it is just stupid. No one should be that attached to a console that they would take personal offence over a reference in a game.

HallowedSoul12637d ago

They should rename it to #triggered lol

TheGamez1002639d ago

Lol what?? Jeez I guess some people cant take a simple joke/easter egg. Is NIN64 offensive in japan or something?

2637d ago
Neonridr2639d ago

people are so sensitive nowadays. Nobody really cares.. so what?

DiceAndRice2639d ago

I guess Japan doesn't like any kind of negative Nintendo reference. As I said above I don't think people in the west would've cared when it releases there.

Neonridr2639d ago

meh, I am a Nintendo supporter and I don't even take offense. I understand what you are saying though, Japanese are definitely a little more sensitive to insulting other companies. Very respectful over there.

rainslacker2638d ago

I don't think it's that. Hyperdimension makes shady references, although obvious ones, to every major console and gaming company for the history of gaming. It's the entire premise of the game. It pokes fun at them all like a Japanese South Park satire about the console wars, and Hyperdimension is one of the most popular new JRPG's franchises of last gen which is getting even stronger this gen.

I think this is just some very vocal minority that's making a big deal about it, and I'm wondering why the name would be changed in a patch. If there is context to the name within the game, that would suck completely, because it removed actual creative intent.

If people want to be upset, good enough, but for a developer to remove something with creative intent, that was put there with deliberate intent to placate a small group of people who are apparently upset because the dev took a jab at something they have an unhealthy attachment to, is just plain wrong.

I'm wondering if there is more to this story than was reported, because it seems rather odd for people to really get that upset over something like this. More often than not, little nods to other things people like is often appreciated. It's not like it's the only junk item in the game, so it wasn't singled out.

Tankbusta402638d ago (Edited 2638d ago )

Nintendo fans are the biggest crybabies, it's sad because they are mostly in their 30s by now and can't handle anything negative against their precious brand

Pamela-Ibis2638d ago

I love nintendo but more of a ps guy the last 3 years. I thought ot was neat. But some people. Jeez

2638d ago
CarlosX3602638d ago

I love Nintendo, but I'm more of a PlayStation guy ever since GameCube. I would be excited to find this easter egg, to me, it feels like a nod to Nintendo 64. Automata is set in a future where humans are gone from existence, and robots take over the world... So, it would make sense that an easter egg like this would be there.

People are just too sensitive. Whatever.

Zarock2638d ago

Nice try by the developers but would have named the trash item Switch720p Instead LUL

PFFT2638d ago

Might be the new name after the patch. lol it be awesome if they did changes to that.

Yoko Taro Passes Respect; Says Stellar Blade Is "Much Better" Than Nier: Automata

Stellar Blade's creative director, Hyung Tae Kim, has also claimed that the game is deeply inspired by Nier: Automata.

shadowhaxor31d ago

I feel like Yoko is downgrading Automata because he has expressed multiple times he'd like to revisit the universe, but Squenix hasn't been keen about it. We know he loves 2B and would love to take her out for another spin, so maybe this is how he gets the company to think about it.

gold_drake31d ago

u do realise that Square made Nier a franchise after Automata right?

Taro is downplaying it cause hes not a snob like most of the directors that think their games are gods gifts to the human race.

he said the same thing when being interviewed during the development of Automata too, that he couldnt have done it without the devs.

hes just a humble guy rly.

shadowhaxor31d ago

I mean, Neir existed before Automata with both OG Niers and Drakenguard. I don't count NieR Replicant, since it's a remake of the OG games. Sure, we have Reincarnation, which is still stuck on mobile devices (quite a damned shame). I just remember Taro saying he'd love to revisit Automata if Square Enix lets him. I do recall there was supposed to be a sequel to Automata, but it wasn't confirmed and I'd imagine it was just for Reincarnation.

Enjoy Taro, he seems like a cool guy, who loves the ladies and is humble. But damn, don't put down one of your masterpieces.

Cacabunga30d ago (Edited 30d ago )

I really liked Automata and cannot wait for Stellar Blade

isarai30d ago

I get he's giving them some credit, but i strongly disagree based on the demo. I honestly don't think any aspect of it feels good, it's not bad, it's just kinda ok but definitely a little jank. Also the souls like formula it is adopting does not help it imo. I was looking forward to this for years, now im just kinda let down honestly 🫤

fsfsxii28d ago

Its not a souls like, its a dmc-ish game with rpg elements. Any game with a third person camera and a sword is souls like to these buffoons

H930d ago

Man exputer can you stop putting words like that after someone's name, i read Yoko Taro Passes and just went blank

Snookies1230d ago

Same... Awful way to word that title's beginning.

exputers30d ago

Whoops. Sorry to startle you.

H930d ago

It's alright brother, maybe I am just slow

Hereandthere30d ago

Thats because Sony had a heavy hand in funding and developing this game.

purple10130d ago

They sent in XDEV one of their traveling support studios to Korea to lend a hand if I’m not mistaken, Sony pulled out the big guns to help this studio

jwillj2k430d ago

(From the demo) Stellar has better direction in terms of stage layout if you like that ninja gaiden type feel. Nier is more polished by far.

Is Square’s ethics department gonna insert themselves into this one?

CrimsonWing6981d ago

They weren’t around “last time.”

isarai81d ago

Yoko Taro doesn't play that sh!t

81d ago
Dirty_Lemons82d ago

If it can be done right then amazing, yes please. Yoko Taro seems to change it up each time so I'm curious what a 'sequel' really means.

blackblades81d ago

Either way hope he learns and give her more outfits like Stella got.

vTuro2481d ago

On a sidenote assuming this is indeed Nier 3 then I kinda wonder if Yoko Taro will stick to his guns of creating new characters and stories each time, or if he'll continue with 2B & co due to their skyrocketing in popularity. I guess he'll probably do whatever Squeenix pays him to do lol, but I'm hoping for the former. 2B and her gang got a decent enough conclusion (especially for a Yoko game) and I feel like continuing their story would ruin it.

vTuro2481d ago

Actually, now that I think about it, a new Nier game would technically be Nier 4 since the gacha Reincarnation was declared as the sequel to Automata and is therefore Nier 3.

Dirty_Lemons81d ago

Oh man, that game was a slog. Graphics and music were excellent though, and it's nice directly strongly to Automata.

Red3f1ned81d ago (Edited 81d ago )

Tifa is a good sign. There's at least some hope, lads.
Just maybe they'll leave things alone.

Plus, like people are saying - Taro don't play that sh*t.
