Looks like the upcoming South Park: The Fractured But Whole can't catch a break, as the latest Ubisoft quarter earnings report implies that the highly anticipated RPG title has been delayed again.

>Implying all delayed or long dev cycle games have been flawless/good games.

This will still get a day one patch like every other game that is nonsense today with comparison to days of before.

MRMagoo1232646d ago

the first one was a surprisingly great rpg so if they need to delay again so be it imo.

fenome2646d ago

I never got around to the first one, but I heard it was really good. I'll have to check it out one of these days.

The 10th Rider2646d ago

I mean, I agree. However the first one was made by Obsidian, one of the best RPG devs out there right now. This is developed solely by Ubisoft and my expectations are a lot lower.

Greg28012646d ago

And it saves some money in a already expensive month

rdgneoz32646d ago

Yah. There are a lot of good games coming up, along with Nioh that just released. My wallet can use the breather with South Park getting pushed back another month or so (hopefully not towards a year -- 2017-18 fiscal year [April 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018])..

XanderZane2646d ago

Yes. I'm fine with that. The first game got delayed like 3 times. It turned out to be great when it was finally done. So I can wait.

deafdani2645d ago

Better whole than fractured.

I'll hold on purchasing the game after reviews hit. I truly hope is as good as the first one if it ain't it'll be a skip for me. The thing I kinda dislike is the combat change. Hopefully it's not bad

Kribwalker2646d ago

I waited till the first one went on sale dirt cheap then snatched it up. Really good one

DeadlyOreo2646d ago

Way to support the developers buddy. If everyone were like you we'd have no games to play. Go you.

Injusticewarrior2646d ago

DeadlyOreo,
If he bought it from a retailer the devs already got thier money.
If not so what? It wasn't stolen
Have you never bought anything on sale?

Kribwalker2646d ago

@deadly Oreo
You are telling me you never bought a game on sale?

Also, I bought the Xbox one at launch and traded in my 360, while the game came out after the new systems launched, so when it was on sale for $5 last year and backwards compatible, why wouldn't I buy it. I also bought knack and the order last month when they were on sale for $5. Am I a bad guy for doing that?

badz1492646d ago

@DeadlyOreo

by your logic, Steam users are the worst of the worst! those Steam sales are damaging the industry, right? /s

@deadlyoreo

"If"
And if you have to invent a scenario which can't fiscally happen then you have no argument.

What an utterly stupid thing to say. Think before you post.

Dont you hate three judgemental types? And 7 agrees? I'm guessing all alts

The 10th Rider2646d ago

Yeah, and this one isn't developed by Obsidian, it's all Ubisoft. That's a bit of a concern right there.

TXIDarkAvenger2646d ago

That's a shame but probably for the best. Lot's of games to play until then though.

Just like the first one, repeatedly delayed. It will come out eventually

Blu3_Berry2646d ago

Doesn't surprise me as it didn't have a concrete release date after it was delayed last year. Honestly I rather have them take their time anyways since The Stick of Truth was fantastic.

We are going to see a lot of crap South Park products since they sold out to paramount years ago. It's their IP they can sell out, of course; it just means the quality of their show has tanked and other products as well. Nevertheless, they put on excellent musicals, but those haven't been sold to a mega corporation.

cammers199542d ago

They said awhile ago that Ubisoft holds contract rights to the main flagship South Park games. So like stick, fractured and phone destroyer.

Snow Day was handled by THQ and Question and is a random spinoff. Hopefully Ubisoft is cooking something.

anast42d ago

That's one reason to be hopeful, but Ubi is trending down too.

chicken_in_the_corn42d ago

Loved the RPGs but never played the others. Have to track them down. Still not sure about Snow Day though.

The 7 Best South Park Games

The South Park series has somehow managed to stay relevant for over 25 years, but which are the best games based on the TV show?

cammers1995149d ago (Edited 149d ago )

The only two worth playing are Stick of truth and fractured but whole. The rest were garbage except snow day which I can't say anything about yet. But with that said, unlike stick and fractured which debuted as AAA full priced titles by ubisoft, snow day is a new developer and publisher and has a budget price at only $30 soooo

Best Superhero Video Games Available Right Now

From Xfire: "A lot of video games are designed to make players feel like a superhero. However, very few actually feature superheroes or have players take on the role of a superhero. What makes this even worse is that there are even fewer superhero video games that can be considered good."
