I agree most of those will almost definitely be good games, a lot of them aren't exactly GOTY material, though. Out of all of those, the few that are big contenders are Horizon, Mass Effect, Persona 5, and Red Dead Redemption. The rest don't stand a big chance even if they're 10/10 games because they're pretty low profile. Not saying that none of the others could win, but if they did they'd be considered the underdog.

I'm pretty sure the goty fight will be between Horizon, RDR 2, Mass Effect A and Zelda BoTW. I'm incredibly hyped for Ni no kuni, Nier and Gravity Rush 2, but those games usually don't get picked for goty.
My wish is for Horizon to win, as it is a new original IP.

And sorry to say, But Horizon Zero Dawn, Death Stranding, Hellblade will push more consoles than Zelda.

Yes Everyone, including myself want a new zelda in our lives. but the console it's attach to is the issue i'm having. i don't want to have o worry about charging 3 different things for the console, including the console itself.

the gimmicks of the switch will hold back sales of zelda and most 3rd party games by the end of the year, bringing it back in line with it's 2 recent consoles. 1st party games only.

well some of us are looking forward to it because of the tech involved in it, the fact that its an independant game and no publisher has any say in the image it is portraying.

Also the fact that it is dealing heavily with mental health is a huge plus for me, as i deal with alot of what Senua will be dealing with in that game.

Wellcome Trust backed it as a form of therapy for people dealing with depression, psychosis and PTSD.

So ya, i did compare it and i will keep comparing it. and in my eyes, i will probably get more out of Hellblade over Zelda

I was pretty disappointed with Skyward Sword as well, it was a good game, but it just wasn't what I wanted out of Zelda. Breath of the Wild looks to take everything Skyward Sword did right, strip back everything that made it a disappointment, and take the series back to its roots. A few years back, after playing Skyward Sword, I remember thinking I want to see a Zelda that really captures the feeling some of the original art had . . . Lo and behold that's what they're going for. I'm still keeping my expectations in check, but I do have high hopes for this one.

Even music I found was better in past games

I could go on. However I can't say for certain what BotW will be like because if we take everything we have so far I can't help looking at the stuff going on in the background and thinking "This world looks really dead". I mean it's supposed to be a world which is in ruin but I just don't see much going on, it seems they've just decided to focus on the little things most other RPG games don't bother with. Like using a shield as a sledge, fire spreading effects, turning water to ice and using it as a platform, gliding, campfires and so on.

It may be, but it has big shoes to fill as open world games have been really good lately. TW3 has set the bar very high and Horizon looks damn good too. I am sure that Mass Effect and RDR, as well as P5 will have something to say about it all b4 it's said and done.

Oh brother... Dumbest article I've read in a while. This is the sort of thing you'd read in a comment section like this. Dude, the game hasn't even been released and you haven't played it. Ever heard the saying "don't count your chickens before they hatch?" Nobody's saying it's not possible, what we're saying it's it's absurd to make any sort of a claim when you haven't actually tried it. Nintendo isnt without fault. They are subject to error just as much as anyone. Sure, Toyota, Honda, or SuBaru have a reputation before being reliable cars, but just because it's advertised hyped up doesn't mean anyone knows for sure unless they test drive it, thoroughly. I don't know how I can make myself any clearer. That said, bias can't exist in journalism. The point is to be objective to reach a wider audience. Your bias shows fanboyism which doesn't go so well. Your comments sections already does that for you. Tip, don't do stuff like in the future, if you keep doing this, you won't last long.

I'll say it again what I've seen of Zelda looks OK but nothing I'm jumping to get. Horizon Zero Dawn looks way better imo and maybe looks to be my game of the year contender. Its too early to know.

It's a very strong candidate for sure, but there's also Mass Effect: Andromeda and Horizon: Zero Dawn to think about... also, Red Dead Redemption 2 is slated for a 2017 release, although to me this looks very unlikely... it will most probably be delayed to 2018. But if it does come out this year by miracle, it will also get GOTY awards from a lot of websites.

Main point being, Zelda won't get the GOTY this year so easily. There are other very strong contenders. Hell, if the new 3D Mario for Switch launches this year (rumors point to this), even that one would pick up a serious fight for the title. 3D Mario games are also an hallmark of Nintendo game excelence, with the lowest-rated one getting a 90 in Metacritic (Mario 3D Land, and that was a handheld entry). Very few IPs have this kind of pedigree.

Could be but it'll have some stiff competition this year. Horizon looks awesome, ME:A, and RDR2 are also coming this year, my guess is BoTW will be a contender but It's not guaranteed to win GoTY. Also there's always a couple sleeper hits that no one was anticipating to be GOTY. Look at Overwatch and Doom in 2016.

Honestly, all games aside, I am just waiting for Warren Spector's System Shock. Whatever wins GOTY, System Shock will be GOTY for me. Years since I played a Warren Specor game and sure as hell am not missin one even if I have to sacrifice all other games in the process.
