Capcom have already confirmed that the upcoming Resident Evil 7 will in fact have combat, thereby dispelling one of the biggest fears that a lot of fans of the series had about the title. Given its first person perspective, and the emphasis that the demos and showings of the game have viewed on exploration, there was a general worry that Capcom would downplay combat, long a series staple, entirely.

So it looks like they have abandoned unreal for future iterations of the game and are sticking with ego. So that means no decent VR support on PC and none on console seeing as the ego can't handle it properly. I really enjoyed the demo. I was skeptical, with first hearing about how it was going to be in first person. But after playing it, I was pleasantly surprised by how immersive the demo was. I really want to buy the game now :)
