Funko Figures (and in conjunction Disney Infinity and Amiibo) are only popular because cheap figures of popular characters don't exist otherwise. Modeling your game characters after them (basically) is just... ugly.

Also up in the Dutch PS Store. Just finished it.

I like the cute character-design. Backgrounds are a bit bland though, and apart from the end-fight, you basically just see the same background in the fights the whole time. Battle-system seems nice although obviously you're still at very early levels, so your attacks aren't that big yet. I like calling up the 'hero' who swoops in with an impressive display of attacks, although I can see it becoming a chore to sit through after so many times, considering you can only fast-forward attacks, instead of skipping through them.

It's pretty basic stuff though: Walk through a green boring environment, come across different little characters from the FF-series who just give you a potion or whatever. Then find a chest or come across a fight. That's basically it.

The stacking stuff is nice, although again, still very early in, plus it's nice to be able to capture creatures and use them.

The battle-system doesn't seem to allow you to pick a specific target in the normal mode, but only in classic mode.

Also really didn't like the fact that Japanese voices were missing from the demo. I know it's included as a free download when you buy the Day 1 edition or special edition or whatever, but here only the Japanese battle-sounds/victory-sounds are included, while the English option included the small dialogue with the characters (although there isn't that much dialogue to begin with). I chose the Japanese voices, which sadly just completely muted the dialogues, but I preferred no voices over the English voices.

Not sure yet if I'll buy the game. The demo was nice but also became a bit repetitive later on, probably because they kept re-using the same background for each fight and you don't have that many different attacks yet), plus I really don't like how they have butchered out the Japanese voices and have made them DLC-exclusive, cause I prefer it to just be on the disc, instead of them using tactics like these.

Overall a nice little game, but perhaps just like Dragon Quest Builders, a game where I might wait a bit till it drops in price.

I know the demos for Bravely Default and Bravely Second were pretty underwhelming... and not representative of the full game whatsoever.

Yeah, like I said, some stuff I liked, some stuff I didn't like, but there's potential there and it seems like a nice enough game, and it certainly has my interest ever since it was announced, but obviously I'll wait for the reviews and such to come in before I decide on getting it or not.

I do really feel the backgrounds/environments are much too bland for a game released in 2016. Especially with a game that's 'slow' like this, where it should be pretty easy to get far more details and animation etc etc in there to make it look as gorgeous as possible.

Having boring textures and trees that all look the same, etc etc... it just looks a bit outdated. I absolutely love the character-design, but the world, in this demo, just looks very 'last-gen' to me. Not ambitious at all.

Yeah, it's best to always wait for reviews.
There really isn't any reason to pre-order games.

I recommend anyone interested in this one should watch the english trailer. I wanted to be excited about this one, but after that trailer it really feels like this one is just out there to grab a new audience of kids vs the nostalgic audience it should be targeting.
