Final Fantasy XV's Level of Photorealism Was Far Greater Than Expected, It Felt Unnatural at First

Final Fantasy XV's Luminous Engine enabled such great level of photorealism that the environments felt unnatural at first and needed tweaks.

FF graphics are always ground breaking, can't wait to see this for myself!

Mostafeto2858d ago

Every trailer and bit of gameplay we saw so far points out tjat this is going to be a ground breaking game.

UltraNova2858d ago

Indeed. It goes to show that current gen consoles have some steam left in them when optimised well.

That said I can wait to get my hands on this FF game and its been a long long time since I've felt that way for an FF title.

mark_parch2858d ago

im really looking forward to it but some areas in the demo's didn't look that impressive to me

NotEvenMyFinalForm2857d ago (Edited 2857d ago )

That's not true. The game's presentation on this last E3 was awful and a real hype killer. Both of the demos have been meh too because the truth is that he combat in this game is not very good.

-Foxtrot2857d ago

Well...I mean we don't really know do we. The trailers shown at E3 were not the best.

Looks great, but so did FF13 at first and the only thing you can take away from that was it's amazing graphics.

bouzebbal2857d ago

I hope you are right.
Haven't been excited for a FF since FF12 so i'm still a bit hesitant on this one but i will buy it day one because the first demo was actually good and the story seems interesting.

@NotEvenMyFinalForm
If you played the demo (platinum demo) and fought the final boss fight (the only one too xD) you'll know how good the gameplay is,simple yet hard to master and have some deep mechanics to it,its just the dude from E3 demo was high or wanted to pull some advanced move but couldn't
and from the demo too you'll know that exploring and searching for items will be hard but rewarding 1

Pintheshadows2857d ago

I agree. I have said a lot of bad things about FF13 on this site, but visually, it looked incredible. The character models were excellent. This looks to be continuing on that path.

Festano2858d ago

I want to see it on PC soon. That's where it will truly shine.

Alexious2858d ago

It'll be a lot less than five years. Square Enix liked all those Steam sales of recent FF releases

phallusitator2858d ago

@ Alexious

You mean the recent steam releases of games that were out 10 years ago?

Shubhendu_Singh2858d ago

I'm also waiting for it on PC.

Don't worry...I can wait plenty, but it will be worth it.

Chinkyinc182857d ago

If we had to wait a whole extra gen of consoles for this game, I can wait another year or two for this to come out on PC...

shuvam092857d ago

Sqenix have some of the most insane sales prediction for their titles...
So I can see it going to the PC pretty soon...

TheCommentator2857d ago

If it's graphics that matter most to you I heard that SE is pretty excited about working on Scorpio. If it doesn't come to PC, then the best looking version of the game will be on Xbox.

_-EDMIX-_2857d ago

Might depend how much Square supports that version in regards to scaling, but by default the PC version should be the best.

@Harkins- not based on what Square has been doing, I see FFXV on PC maybe a year after release. They've been doing more PC titles lately and I think it will do good for the JRPG community to have another install base for sales, look at I Am Setsuna. This is a good thing bud, and I'm getting FFXV day one on PS4. Trust me, its going to be less then 5 years and why even hope for that?

The more FFXV sells over all, the better Square is, the faster you get FFVII, FFXVI etc. Why want them to delay getting paid when it benefits you?

Frisky2858d ago

Why are they nit bringing it to pc then? It'll be a whole lot better on pc in terms of graphics

Movefasta19932858d ago

There's a chance it will come to pc in the future.

SoulMikeY2858d ago

Because console gamers pay for things....

DragonKnight2858d ago

@Vegamyster: That article doesn't do anything to help your cause because it's about XB1 not consoles in general. It even says PS4 outperformed everyone. Try again.

Haru2857d ago Show
Vegamyster2857d ago (Edited 2857d ago )

@DragonKnight

If PC gamers didn't pay for anything like OP says then the platform would look a lot like the Wii-U right now, barren. There is a simple reason why i posted that article and it had nothing to do with which platform sold the best but to show people do buy games, plus i don't see why you would lump all consoles together when they're separate platforms & companies. would you like to argue otherwise?

@Haru

Selling less games doesn't mean it's sells badly.

I'm pretty sure they are. Look at the recent PC releases they've done. I just don't think they want to cannibalize their consoles sales until after its come out and they can fund a proper port, look at what GTAV did.

The console versions will fund the PC version. Don't worry, I'm legit 100% calling this.

FFXV has been in development for well over 11 years, I don't see them leaving this on 2 platforms as it just makes zero sense considering this games wild development and Square's recent ventures in PC.
