Wow that's a lot of coverage for Gears 4, especially considering the game isn't out until October

christocolus2973d ago (Edited 2973d ago )

Nice. I'm sure I've watched that trailer over 20 times. I even watched it twice today. lol. If you liked the original mad world trailer then you'll probably like this one too. The Coalition made a good trailer and the choice of music is great. I hope the game lives up to the hype.

oasdada2972d ago (Edited 2972d ago )

The trailer is superb.. but im betting my horse the game wont be even close to the trailer. Mad world trailer was that bitter sweet thing where it got me super hyped for the game and later kinda left me slight dissapointed in the game due to the 'dude bro' nature of what I think technically should still be called a story

christocolus2972d ago

The Gears 4 trailer now has close to 10 million views. That's over 600,000 views since this article was written.. I think the trailer is doing a great job of getting people hyped/ready for the game. All the Coalition needs to do now is have an amazing E3 demo to keep the hype rolling till launch.

@oasdada

“But I'm betting my horse the game won't be even close to the trailer”

Are you talking about graphics or sales? Anyways the trailer is obviously cgi but I bet The Coalition will do a great job regarding ingame graphics and regarding sales it doesn't have to sell 9 million copies for to be successful.it just has to sell enough to recoup dev cost and make some profit. I'm a big Gears fan and I hope the game does great.I'm eager to know more about the new characters and I want to see the direction the story goes. Cliffy B said he got some info regarding the story and going by what he was told Gears fans won't be dissapointed at all. So I'm sure most Gears fans are excited for Gears 4. Its been a long time since a mainline Gears game was released. I'm sure It will sell great and hopefully me and my pals will be getting it day one.

It's advertising for the beta season. Not unheard of that Microsoft is pumping all it can into it. It's really the only AAA exclusive they have this year and the franchise used to be synonymous with the Xbox brand. They have a lot riding on Gears 4 and this game will determine the fate of Gears in the future.

Gol3m2972d ago

Including probably paying employees to sit on computers and give adverts hits to fake the massive interest. I mean one guy here just said he watched it 20 times. It's and advert. It doesn't change. Watch it once and move on

Gazondaily2972d ago

Lool that downplay effort...amazing!

YinYangGaming2972d ago

Only AAA game this year? Halo Wars 2, ReCore, Forza Horizon 3, Sea of Thieves beg to differ

Unite_Gaming2973d ago (Edited 2973d ago )

Gears of War when it arrived revolutionised the gaming industry. It has made cover mechanics main stream and till this day cover shooters exist. Yeah yeah the same poor fanboy excuse " oh gears didn't invent cover mechanics winback had it!!" Well Winback did not make it a common trend and core gameplay mechanic like Gears did. Nowadays cover shooters are common even Uncharted implented this. Another trend it started was the dark gritty artstyle and look of the game. So many games tried to have this look have failed

Gears 4 is looking to blow people away like Gears 1-3 did. Amazing must play series. Even though third person cover shooter games are dime a dozen now thanks to Gears. But they still cant make it feel as natural and awesome as gears does it. Legendary franchise.

Aloy-Boyfriend2973d ago (Edited 2973d ago )

Gears of War PIONERED cover shooting. It didn't revolutionise anything. It was already there in gen 6. Uncharted came a year later and both mechanics were inspired by Killswitch and made better with the power of gen 7. Devs words not mine

The best cover mechanics are in Splinter Cell Conviction and BlackList yet.

MyDietEqualsGames2972d ago

Gears pioneered cover shooting? Really?

This guy, lol.

game4funz2972d ago

It is okay to give credit where it's due. Even if it isn't in your platform of choice.

marioJP872972d ago (Edited 2972d ago )

It revolutionized over the shoulder shooting. (RE4 was great too but we all noticed a mass number of titles implementing over the shoulder after gears released on 360).
We noticed that Gears revolutionized cover system and blind fire shooting in cover because look at the mass number of titles implementing it after gears.
Gears basically did what Steve Jobs did with iPhone, used tech from others but revolutionized it and made other companies follow.
Seeing as i'm addicted to Splinter Cell Blacklist on PC (Played it 30 minutes ago), I do agree with you that they by far have the best and most realistic cover system of any game.

Imalwaysright2972d ago (Edited 2972d ago )

Gears of war cover system was made by Chris Esaki which was Killswitch lead designer. Gears of war was the evolution of what he started in Killswitch.

Uncharted wasn't even meant to be a shooter. It was supposed to be a game with Tolkien elements until Sony saw how successful shooters were on the 360. I can only think of 1 shooter with massive commercial success at the time: Gears of War.

Dark Gritty setting was not started by gears of war but it did revolutionize the Sticky cover system.

Trilithon2973d ago

its a better trailer. Doom had the most potential to make a cool trailer and the botched it.

The best games of their generation too. Its incredible how great most if not all of playstations games are. Whether you like the stories or not you cant deny the quality of each title.

Hated tlou part 2. But im going to buy it when it is cheap enough because i want to play the remastered content for $10 extra dollars. Theyre adding a roguelike mode...thats going to be fun!
