Famitsu clarifies: PS3 Last Remnant not out this November

PS3Fanboy: "Some of you may have read (and even tipped us off) about reports stating that The Last Remnant for PS3 would be released alongside the 360 version this November. However, and unfortunately, this statement is false. Famitsu, the origin of the mistaken release date has issued a correction (via IGN)."

This RPG gamer picked up a 360 to go with his PS3.

Isaac5752d ago

That the PS3 version is still coming out and it won't be on multiple discs? Just thought I'd let you know.

InMyOpinion5752d ago

Instead the PS3 version will have the gamer install it for 15-20 minutes in order to avoid extreme load times. As with most other PS3 games it probably won't have trophy support either.

The 360 will let you transfer the other disc(s) to the HDD(and cut load times by 30%). As with all 360 games it will have achievements.

Wouldn't be too surprising if the 360 version looks and runs better as well.

The last time I checked, installs didn't take the entire day. And you are not Nostradamus so don't start predicting this game won't have trophy support. -.-

Yeah, slam that disagree button like you always do. Either you or your buddies did it but that's okay.

god_o_war5752d ago

wont it take time to transfer the disc to the hdd and if its on multiple discs woodn you have to do it with every disc.... and it was said that u have to have the actual game disc in when playing it off the hdd you will probably have to keep changing discs anyway

InMyOpinion5752d ago

You will only need to have one of the discs in the tray. The rest can be run from the HDD. Awesome, isn't it? =)

Who wants to bet that FFXIII won't have trophy support when it's released on the PS3? Do any currently released third party games have it? No?

god_o_war5752d ago

omg trophies this game will be atleast 20-30 hrs long trophies dont really matter i dont really care about trophies or achievments their basically extras they dont do anything if they could be used to buy stuff from the store/marketplace than it would matter but atm their just numbers.... but most new games will have trophies and will be in 3d will achievments be in 3d(lol 3d numbers)...

juuken5752d ago

"Who wants to bet that FFXIII won't have trophy support when it's released on the PS3? Do any currently released third party games have it? No?"

And how does that concern you? You don't have a PS3 so I don't see how that affects you, unless of course you're just gloating over that notion too.

Oh whoopdy-doo, no trophies! All 1st party PS3 games will have them so don't worry your pretty head about it.

Peow5752d ago

"Who wants to bet that FFXIII won't have trophy support when it's released on the PS3? Do any currently released third party games have it? No?"

We've only had Trophy support for a short amount of time. This game won't come out until '09. That gives SE plenty of time to work on trophies.

JasonXE5752d ago

i think tlr is on one disc.

Lost_My_600_Dollar5752d ago (Edited 5752d ago )

Jenzo is right , if you like JRPG , then the xbox360 is a must buy for them
I know PS2 was a great system with hundreds of JRPG but, you know times change

@ ISAAC

why should gamers wait for one year ??? besides it's going to be the same !!!! pointless

Na~ I bet MS pay for time exclusive on this one. How does UE engine problem last about half year? SE isn't newbie and sure as hell got lots of talent employee, they can't figure out why and too proud to ask help from either Sony or Epic?

But all of those said, I still think IU is best among this year RPG.

JasonXE5752d ago

i remember there were a lot of complaints coming from devs about UE & ps3. Epic had to send devs to help but I doubt they would come to japan + language barrier so it would take more time to complete.

MvmntInGrn5752d ago

They are planning to hit Japan HARD this fall. With Tales of Vesperia and Last Remnant they are hoping to get some quick sales. It won;t matter in the end but quick sales is better than none.

timmyrulz5752d ago

I find it quite a sad state of affairs when the Sony crew are hoping that a JRPG is released on their console at the SAME TIME as it is on the xbox 360, just goes to show that money talks and apart from the odd proud person with principles (i'm looking at you Kojima), everyone has a price

While I agree that the combat in Star Ocean 5's combat is pretty fun, saying that its story is more enjoyable than its predecessors is highly debatable. Also, it's not just the technical issues the game suffers from.

Gaming4Life19811573d ago

Star Ocean 5 was garbage and I was a huge star ocean fan.

Docmortem1574d ago

Completely disagree the games I played from the list all deserve their scores (Star Ocean, Nier, Tales of Zesteria, Type-0). While there are certainly people that love these games, they have flaws in many categories, that justify those scores.
Star Ocean especially bored the hell out of me. Lame story and face roll battle system (I finished the game anyway). These games are really niche and when rated by a broader public, fall short. In my opinion even in their own genre.

solideagle1574d ago

I personally have not played any game below 80 and thought wow this should have been 80-90 game. The only game I thought should have been 90 was Shadow Hearts II: Covenant. I am pretty sure there will be some games but average score usually is pretty good indication.

do you recommend any JRPG which you think were good/amazing but it didn't score well? I just purchased Tokyo xanadu but it seems way too slow like trails game but trail at least has good story. I will give it a shot

rainslacker1573d ago

I think there were quite a few JRPG games that got hit with lower meta scores last gen when all these reviewers were on their anti-anime tropes kick. Not that they should get up there into the high 80s or 90s, but they weren't 60-70 games either.

That's mostly died off this gen, thankfully

WickedLester1574d ago

Ni No Kuni 2 is way better than it's metascore.

solideagle1574d ago

I think Ni No Kuni 2 combat is pretty generic but if you add all DLCs then its combat is pretty awesome. I purchased the complete edition so I can say DLC changes the combat completely

FinalAeonX1573d ago

Ni no Kuni 1 is way better than its metascore

Father__Merrin1574d ago

meta scores are rubbish best ignore them. many gems out there

solideagle1574d ago (Edited 1574d ago )

can you please name few?

Kocurstvo1573d ago (Edited 1573d ago )

Useless to argument troll, but e.g. Eat Lead is hilarious and extremely funny, yet mediocre on metastupids.... Lords of the Fallen, Strange brigade... I could name hundreds

It's a good game, but the story is only okay. The gameplay is where the game really shines, but the game itself does an atrocious job of explaining it's own systems. Basically, you need to read a "what I wish I knew before I started" somewhere online, and then the game becomes great.
