I can see that decision for sure, but it's gotta be Fallout 4 for me

Digital_Anomaly3085d ago

Fallout 4 wasn't made in Canada! 😉

generalwinter3085d ago

That's why I see that decision 😉😉

DarthZoolu3084d ago

Oh Canada, you show is crazy.

starchild3085d ago

It was actually a really great game. It was my second favorite game of the year after The Witcher 3, so I can definitely see it winning the Canadian goty.

ifistbrowni3085d ago

I bought it on black friday for $30. It's still sitting wrapped (unopened). I really wanna play it, but I have a list of games that I want to fully enjoy before opening another.

I already feel bad for chopping up my Fallout 4 gameplay with Black ops, Battlefront, NHL 16, Bloodborne DLC, Dark Souls 2 and Uncharted beta.

I need to quit buying games. I have MGSV and countless Digital games (Life is strange, Everybody gone to the rapture, Borderlands Tales, Game of thrones, TWD:2, Costume Quest 2 REmake and more) I haven't even played.

I'm looking forward to AC:Syndicate. I think It'll jump the list after I finish fallout 4. Mainly because I dont think it will require as much play time as MGSV

R6ex3084d ago

Yeah. Enjoyed the play-through of AC:Syndicate. Once I realized that it wasn't necessary to grind/level-up, I stopped wasting time conquering all the areas on the map and focused on the main campaign. Nice story. Evie Fyre - a gorgeous beauty with brains and a lethal assassin. PC version looks amazing and ran well. Love it!

Dabigsiebowski3085d ago (Edited 3085d ago )

Assassins Creed winning goty? LMAO.....ok Quebec.. I didn't play it so maybe it's a pretty decent game but GOTY...LMAO again

JackStraw3085d ago

Typical N4G user spotted.

Yui_Suzumiya3085d ago

Exactly.. You didn't play it.. I gotta say that I always thought the series was boring up until Syndicate.. Glad to see it getting some recognition.

WellyUK3084d ago

It's a solid AC game but it's not quite good enough to get GOTY.

Dabigsiebowski3084d ago

I didn't play it because I don't play Annual franchises in general. I don't pay for cash grabs even tho some of them turn out to be decent once in a while. I focus on the talents of those who put passion into their games and that goes for indie and AAA.

Isnt Weed legal in Canada? Would explain a lot.

Elit3Nick3085d ago

It's not yet, but one of the pledges of our new prime minister is legalizing weed.

Neonridr3084d ago

spring next year perhaps...

-Foxtrot3085d ago

Gee I wonder why

Developers - Ubisoft Quebec

Made in Canada

TheJacksonRGN3085d ago

Also maybe because the award event is for Canadian made games only.

AtariFanboy3085d ago

Couldn't of at least read the article?

_-EDMIX-_3085d ago

Sooooo do you even read the articles you post in? It seems your just posting in articles about games you don't like.

We really need a bubble down for not reading the article. Seriously bud...

smh. It states for Canadian games and games made internationally.

ifistbrowni3085d ago

he's got to leave his mark on every article. Theres not enough time in the day for him to read every article he posts on.

JackStraw3085d ago

That's all Foxtrot ever does. Whine and rant about things he doesn't like.

Anghellic3085d ago

Read the article and have you ever left a positive comment, jeez your life must be sad bud.

Yui_Suzumiya3085d ago

Lol... Classic Foxtrot.. Gotta love em!

DanielEndurance3085d ago

Well deserved. Glad Jacob/Evie Frye won best new character award as well.

Paulhammer3085d ago

Is this just for Canadian made games? Because Syndicate is mediocre at best

Yui_Suzumiya3085d ago

It kicks the hell out of all those boring ass prior entries!

Paulhammer3083d ago

The story is great, but the gameplay is straight out of AC2. They badly need to overhaul how those games play because they're predictable and continue to force bad mission design on people.

WellyUK3084d ago

It's not it's easily one of the better AC games but haters just wanna hate.

The 7 Best Western RPGs: Immersive Adventures

RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

SimpleSlave43d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan43d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave43d ago (Edited 43d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.

Played and enjoyed Far Cry, Far Cry 3 and 4 campaigns .

-Foxtrot65d ago

4 wasn’t so bad

Pagan Min was pretty entertaining

Skuletor65d ago

Yeah, 4 was good, was hard choosing which Golden Dawn member to side with, when they were both pieces of sh!t.
I've beaten all the main entries except 2 and 6, ended up uninstalling 6 to download something else instead.

Profchaos65d ago

I'd love a far cry pack with the original PC game (not the half assed port on ps360) instincts, predator even a port of far cry 2 to modern consoles back when these games had their own identity and weren't far cry 3 cut and pastel

Demetrius65d ago

Still one of my most favorite franchises along with assassins creed

banger8865d ago (Edited 65d ago )

Same here, I don't know why these games get so much hate. I've thoroughly enjoyed every single one of them, with only a couple of exceptions. I wish they'd hurry up and announce Far Cry 7. The only thing I'm concerned about is the rumoured time limit.

Tomb Raider 1
Driver 1
Abe’s Odyssey
FF6
King of Fighters 94
Mortal Kombat OG
LINK 2 the past
Street Fighter 2
Resident Evil 1

Inverno67d ago

Infinite but not the first two games? Witcher 3 but not the first two games?? GTA V but not literally any of the games before it??? Portal 2 but not the first? Also if you're going to play Shadow of The Colossus play the remaster and not the remake. Can't say I disagree with the list but my man it's all over the place.

Name Last Name67d ago

I mean some sequels are objectively better and you don’t need to play the whole series.

Inverno67d ago

But most of these games have a story to follow, sure you can catch up with a YouTube vid but where's the fun in that?

LucasRuinedChildhood67d ago (Edited 67d ago )

A list like this isn't telling you not to play the previous games if you want to. It's just giving you legendary games to play.

But tbh, you don't always have to force yourself to play every entry in a franchise to get to the better ones.

- The vast majority of Witcher 3 players never played the first 2 and had a great time. The first 2 games aren't in the same league.
- The GTA games are self-contained with the odd fun reference. You can easily jump into any of them.
- The Shadow Of The Colossus remake looks and controls better than the original (plus it has a 60fps option while the remaster is just 30fps). New players will enjoy it more.
- Portal 2 is a lot better than Portal 1 and takes the concept much further gameplay-wise. Storywise, Portal 1 is fairly light too. Not that you shouldn't play it but realistically ... you'd love Portal 2 whether you play it or not (at lot of Portal 2 players have never played 1).

Bioshock 1 is the only one I agree with you on simply because it's one the best games of all time and arguably better than Infinite. No other setting like Rapture.

Looking at the list, I'd recommend playing Uncharted 1 before 2 but no doubt, 2 is the legendary one you have to play.

Inverno67d ago

I get it, but that's just my opinion on his opinion. I just think that before you play a sequel you should still play what came before it. Maybe it's just me but i find it fascinating playing through the first game in a series and seeing how it has evolved through its sequels. Like I said I don't disagree with the list, other than SoTC which I strongly believe the remaster of the original should be played above the remake.

AuraAbjure67d ago

Awesome list! Hot take on Fear (and it's hard af expansion Persaus Mandate!) Bioshock Infinite is stellar, so is the Witcher 3 and you nailed it by having Ocarina of Time. So many fantastic games! Gotta play 'em all! Next one on my list is Prey after I beat Dead Space 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction.
