'Fallout 4' Review | Entertainment Buddha

EB: "Fallout 4 arrives as one of the most anticipated games of the year, with a massive legacy to stand on and a built-in fanbase hungry to explore the expansive wasteland. While a lot can change in five years, in the case of Fallout 4, a lot can also stay the same."

This seem way to low a score for a Fallout game. Going to play it myself to make up my own mind what score it deserves.

Neonridr3133d ago

That should be your philosophy on every game, not just Fallout.

Always make up your own mind.

boodi3132d ago

for the ones who have to choose among console/games ( wallet..) it s kind of hard to choose without reading the web about them

Neonridr3132d ago

@boodi - I am simply referring to the fact that you shouldn't let anyone else tell you if a game is good or not. Only you can tell yourself if you enjoyed something.

Obviously if you aren't sure if you are buying a game, then a review is a good source for determining if a game is worth your purchase or not. But ultimately only you yourself will be able to answer that question.

Anthotis3132d ago

It's almost like people would force themselves to love a turd if it came out the ass of a developer they worshiped.

elarcadia3133d ago

Of course everyone should play the game themselves to make up their own mind...if you are letting reviewers make up your mind, you have bigger problems. I respect the writer for giving the score he believes in, but I don't expect it to sway my own personal thoughts on the game.

WickedLester3132d ago

"if you are letting reviewers make up your mind, you have bigger problems"

Comments like these always amusing me. Just because some people like to use reviews as a source for helping them to make an informed purchasing decision doesn't make them mindless automatons.

Salooh3132d ago

Reviews help when you have no idea how to know the level of the game and then see if it's in your taste or willing to try something new. I played too many games in my life. I don't need anyone to tell me what will i like or not. As for facts about games , you can get enough content in videos or news to know the vision of the game.

suli55953133d ago (Edited 3133d ago )

cheap ass website that hasnt made a name for itself probably because of such crappy review scores, look at his website, probably cost him 20 dollars a year to maintain, 78/100 you know because 2 points away from 80 shows hes a professional critic, lmao such people make me laugh so hard.

madmonkey013132d ago

it drops to zero fps, it cant have a near perfect score with technical issues like that

Starscream863132d ago

Read his justification in the review first before you start trollin.

Clunkyd3132d ago

@Suli5595
Sensitive much?

DarthZoolu3133d ago

The gaming world has been taken over by none gamers, I hate it.

KyRo3133d ago

I'm glad I'm seeing some reviewers not being totally brainwashed by the hype. Fallout 3 was broken and so is this. Stop giving it a free pass when games much more polished are being slated for the same problems this game has.

3132d ago
elarcadia3132d ago

I actually don't think broken means "unplayable" personally. Anything that is broken can be fixed. I think "junk" or "total waste" would be much better terms to use, if you really consider something "unplayable".

TacticAce3132d ago

Google the phrase "Confirmation Bias"

elarcadia3132d ago

@WickedLester I see what you're saying. I mean reading reviews and using them as one source to make an informed decision is fine. But, do you know what I find amusing? When someone writes "That seems way to low a score for a Fallout game." If you are going to read a review, don't nag on it just because you don't agree with it! Or, at least if you are going to disagree make sure you have a) Actually played the game and b) Make a cohesive case for why you disagree.

Ocsta3133d ago

Here come the clickbait reviews. Fallout 4 is a masterpiece, end of.

TenBensons3133d ago

A 78/100 is clickbait? No. No its not, end of.

Christopher3133d ago

As opposed to all those sites who throw just 9 and above scores at major releases like this?

OhMyGandhi3132d ago

Fallout looks to be an awesome game, but seriously...Just the shear amount of bugs alone warrants a few points taken away. It's great that they can throw so much into this game, have an incredibly expansive and interesting world to explore, but if a game were to score higher then a 9, it needs to be the absolute pinnacle of gaming perfection.

Bottom line: 78/100 is not clickbait, and to think otherwise is hilariously short-sighted and childish.
It doesn't help that you have a fallout-related avatar, so combine hugely relevant bias with outlandish accusations of scoring fraud, and you have the picture of a fanboy in action.

madmonkey013132d ago

master piece with lots of bugs and frame rate issues?

SegaGamer3132d ago

Clickbait reviews just because you don't agree with it right ? that sound's incredibly childish to be honest.

He's obviously taking bugs and glitches into account. His money. His choice.

josephayal3133d ago

Buddha meh,this game deserve better

Two-Face3132d ago

This score seems fair. This game does not deserve anything better. Looks outdated, and bring nothing new to gaming. Bethesda played it really safe, and that's fine. It's a decent game, but not a masterpiece it was hyped up to be.

Stapleface3132d ago

None of the 10s I've played this Gen brought new stuff to gaming. Not a single one. Bloodborne, good game but nothing new, The Order 1886, basic TPS cover shooter. The Witcher 3, fantastic game. But I never encountered anything in that game ground breaking as far as gaming goes. Just a great game. I don't think that's something they look for when reviewing. I don't believe any game should get a 10 though. There is always room for improvement in every game I've ever played. I agree with you btw, a fair score.

Salooh3132d ago

Sorry, i pressed disagree even though i agree but not with all your points.

The order visuals , art and graphics are new experience but it's short story and limited gameplay stopped it from being something huge.

As for Bloodborne , yes the gameplay isn't as original as Demon soul (even that game wasn't all that original) but still it had a massive upgrade in every aspect compared to previous ones and it did everything well within it's type of game. So it did deserve that hype. Still not a 10 for me too

And that's why i agree with you but not entirely. I intended to press the agree button but it was a mistake.

As for the witcher i still haven't played 10% of the game. Busy with MGS which is a masterpiece for me so far.

guyman3132d ago

The Order 1886 is not nearly a '10' game

How nice of them to give us more control over graphical settings as a way to *completely* avoid taking accountability for the broken Xbox settings.

bondsmx23d ago

Well, I still crashed like 5 times last night within two hours. So there’s that.

anast23d ago

I had to stop. The game is not good. I'd rather play Skyrim and that game isn't that good either.

I Think It's About Time We Realize Fallout 4 Wasn't That Bad

Ahmed from eXputer: "2015's Fallout 4 received harsh criticism upon launching, but I think it was unwarranted and the game deserves more praise than it got."

helicoptergirl29d ago

It was totally that bad. I couldn't finish the campaign it was so bland and boring as I recall. Got so sick of it. 1000 stimpaks on hard. It is very rare that I play half a game and then just quit. I usually always finish it. But i was so bored with this game I just stopped and never went back and never regretted it. Just thinking about that game makes me shudder

Furesis29d ago

That's exactly what happened to me too lmao
Fallout 4 is not a fallout game period it's a bethesda game

Vits29d ago

The comparison with Skyrim is mind-boggling. Yes, Skyrim has streamlined many of the systems that Morrowind introduced. However, it did not tamper with the core of the Elder Scrolls franchise; it did not diminish the freedom and sense of exploration that made Bethesda RPGs famous. Fallout 4, on the other hand, did exactly that to the Fallout series. It eliminated what made Fallout such a beloved series to play. There are no consequences for your choices, no reason to explore, and barely any interesting set pieces in the game.

It's not terrible, but it's a painfully mediocre game in a franchise that typically doesn't produce such mediocrity. So that is why people see it as bad, the bar is just much higher.

anast28d ago

They both feel the same because they are, it's just that one has swords and magic and the other has swords and guns.

anast28d ago

I'm replaying it now. It sucks. I'm about 30 hours in and thinking about quitting again. I am so tired of the dialogue I just spam a random button because it doesn't matter. The upgrade just feels like a graphical mod, everything else is not good.

Good-Smurf28d ago (Edited 28d ago )

I couldn't play the game as-is it was insanely boring and grindy and the grind itself are not fun at all.
Mods helped me stomach the game a bit better but after a while I just stopped playing and uninstalled it because the game did nothing after the first few hours to give me any motivation to keep playing it, it just became a mindless looter shooter with obsession in settlement building and defending.
Compared to F3 and FNV, F4 was barely a mediocre game it wasn't bad but it's also very forgettable entry.

MrDead28d ago

It's not that bad after 300+ mods that fix it's issues and make the game fun... but lets not talk about mods right now as they are f****d.
