Atlus USA confident about Persona 5′s 2015 release calender for North America

Gearnuke: "During an interview with Godisageek, John Hardin, PR Manager for Atlus USA reaffirmed that Persona 5 will see release exclusively on the PS4 and PS3 in 2015, both in Japan and North America. However, Hardin declined to give a confirmation regarding the game’s European release."

A question here. I'm interested in the series. Do I need to have played the previous games in order to understand the story, or is it more like FF?

More like FF. Though some Persona's are linked slightly, you don't need to play any previous to get the story in any Persona game, even with some characters in Persona 4 that are relatives for folks in Persona 3, its not too spoilerific and doesn't harm your playthrough in any way.

But while waiting for P5, I would legit play P3 and P4! Amazing titles and you'll get why the excitement is about P5, I would also recommend playing them to get lots of hidden jokes and connections to the previous games.

You don't need to, but it sorta helps, I mean...you may not even like P3 or P4, but at least you didn't spend full price on P5 only to find out you don't really like the concept.

each main entry is a self-contained story, so you don't have to play the previous games. That said though, you should try playing the previous games, at least P3 and P4, they're both masterpiece.

Love Persona games, imo Persona 2 innocent and eternal are better, still 3 and 4 were so fun to play, waiting for 5 >_<

Well i wouldnt say it's like FF . FF titles arent tied to each other except when hinted or specified . They dont even usually happen within a same universe

Main Persona games are each self contained , but they still happen in a same universe and within a chronology .

Well at least starting P3 .

if you never played persona do yourself a favor and start with P4 Golden. Dont start with P3 or you will come to hate a *little* thingy called persona fusion.

Once you play the story of P3 and start to really get to the heart of it, its a pain to get the right personas with the right abilities.

It has the best and deepest story though

Dunno , Persona fusions were actually quite fun for many of us . And even if it was indeed annoying , i wouldnt say it's a good idea to start in disorder

Remote play will be the only way it reaches Vita I would guess.

Vita couldn't handle the graphics. I own one and while great it is only slightly better than a ps2 in terms of power.

Er no it's more than slightly above a ps2 ... it's pretty much handling like a ps3 lite . Granted it's not quite at ps3 level , but still closer to that .

It's actually running some ps3 games at lower graphic fidelity , or similar to ps3 versions for the less demanding games

Dead or Alive Extreme 3 is for PS4 and Vita

Super Street Fighter IV was a launch title for the 3DS.

You're telling me 3DS can run SFIV at 60 fps with and all features plus bonus features AT LAUNCH...and Dead or Alive Extreme 3 will run on PS Vita and PS4...

But Vita can't get P5 in 2016? Even though it's a PS3 game?

Have fun living in your fantasy land but Vita can run almost any PS3 game (if not all) and some PS4 titles and you have to accept that.
