In Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in 4K Resolution You Can Read the Logo on Kaz’s Shades

Hideo Kojima keeps teasing Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain with new pictures, and today he showcased something interesting for those who like small details.

Kojima has a knack with filling his game with Easter eggs

Magicite3220d ago

Kojima makes games for fun not for money, thats why Konami parted with him. Their loss..

I remember when we all went gooey over the zoomed in tranq darts in MGS 2, the oranges from the boxes and the ice cubes melting on the tanker after shooting out that large pane of glass in the foyer.

Such fond memories.

and who can forget.

"It's a dud" line when introduced to Fortune.

Oh we couldn't get enough of the drama.

MGS2 artistically stands out to this day. Amazing that a game that came out around 2001 can till hold its ground visually today. I still remember the first time I played it back then, I was amazed at the graphics and the overall presentation.

Can't wait for The Phantom Pain.

Captain_Wormy3221d ago

Or Raiden's infamous "We've managed to avoid drowning." line.

I wonder how much of dialogue is spoke only to put in exposition. I ask this cause my wife who is very smart, and worked paying doctors for a prominent university, will watch a movie and unless something is explained clearly she takes a lot longer to understand what just happen ed. My grandmother is the same way.

And lately every movie I see the dialogue assumes the audience is stupid. But just look at the movie Up, not a word spoken for almost 10 minutes and the set up for the whole movie is done.

Oh just a heads up. Don't know how good it is, and don't know if it has above 60hz at lower resolutions, but right now, after rebate, they have a JVC 42" 4k/60hz for $299 at tiger direct

50k:1 dynamic contrast is pretty bad as is the 6.5ms response time, especially for video games. I'd rather get a 1ms response time 28" LED LCD display designed for PC.

edit\

I can't seem to find ANY reference to this TV on JVC's website which worries me. Also, I don't see any evidence that the screen uses HDMI 2.0 which is required if you want to use a PC @ 4k w/60hz. And even then, only two nVidia cards actually support HDMI 2.0 and none of the AMD cards have it.

JMyers3220d ago

Imagine a hidden room which has the Kojima Productions Logo, you meet Kojima and he tells you about all the Konami nonesense and about Silent Hills.... I can dream :(

JMyers3220d ago

I know right?! Would be so awesome!

Now we'll have to see how much the Master Collection will add to those numbers.

Number1TailzFan208d ago

Too bad it was a lazy release. They could've updated the visuals and everything. Missed opportunity.

Stanjara208d ago

...and yet, they couldn't give more respect and effort into the collection.
What a terrible company.

Minute Man 721208d ago (Edited 208d ago )

Are they counting every game?

Edit: they did

Nyxus208d ago

Yes, these are total lifetime sales of the entire series.

ApocalypseShadow207d ago

.... mostly with the help of PlayStation.

Yea I don’t get why they’re allowing old reviews to be posted here. Someone did one on Soul Reaver and I got so excited thinking there was some stealth release of an HD Remaster, but no… it’s just someone who had a slow day posted an old review…

Cacabunga223d ago

I liked the game but for me it felt somehow like a military simulator rather than a proper MGS.. i got bored of that

micdagoat19223d ago

I do wish they would remaster all the soul reavers

micdagoat19223d ago

it was done this morning though

goldwyncq223d ago

The author was in a coma for 9 years and didn't get to play the game when it released.

Chocoburger224d ago

This review arrived just in time for launch. Perfect timing!

RupeeHoarder224d ago

Amazing how bad this game looks already. We keep acting like this gen doesn't feel like an update but I think we're starting to see it.

YourMommySpoils223d ago

Looks better than Starfield, Cyberpunk and most recent games out. Still fine.

RupeeHoarder223d ago

It most certainly does not lol.

andy85223d ago

Have you player Cyberpunk since the first day? It's absolutely stunning now

1nsomniac223d ago

One of the worst games ever made. Absolute overhyped trash!

Snowb420223d ago

The gameplay was great. It was the tacked on open world and repetitive missions that messed the game up.

Shane Kim223d ago

The game started really strong in that hospital, but after a couple of hours I wondered if it was even an mgs game I was playing.

KyRo223d ago

The hospital section was the only bit that felt like a MGS game.

MGS4 was the ending for me. I totally ignore the fact 5 exists. It didn't need to exist tbh
