Bethesda Announces Fallout Anthology, Including all the Fallout Games

During the welcome speech of Quakecon, Bethesda announced something quite cool, in the form of Fallout Anthology, that will be released on PC on September 29th in North America and October 2nd in Europe.

i have the fallout trilogy, and i have the game of the year edition for fallout 3 and vegas..so im good , but the min-nuke tin is pretty funny..hahaha like the look of it.

Yes they would lol, they just need to have it layed out properly, it being very point and click and turned based makes it pretty easy to bring over.

I've played some of Fallout 1 and 2 using Motionjoy's app for my PS3 controller and it actually feels ok, but I'm sure Bethesda will do a better job with control inputs then me lol

I thought Diablo 3 would never worked on consoles but it turns out better than expected, actually better launched than PC. why fallout 2 or 1 wouldn't work.

well the PS4 touch pad on its dual shock 4 would work pretty nice for mouse pad support, and since the xbox one is getting mouse support..it would indeed work now, and also since they are x86 with tweaks im sure they could indeed port them over now.

yeah, most likely not on the old ps3 and xbox360, but the xbox one and PS4 are pretty much has the hadware to run the those orig. fallout 1,2 and tactics very well no doubt, because fallout tactics being the most demanding out of those three could run on a processor of 400 MHz or less!

There would definitely need to be some enhancements done to the F1 and F2 games to enable them to play effectively on a console, that's for sure. But it's not too say it can't be done. After all, InXile is bringing Wasteland 2 to consoles and it plays very similar to the original Fallout titles. I think the biggest hurdle for Bethesda would be found in convincing the new generation who have never known Fallout existed until F3, that the originals are worth playing despite their incredibly dated graphics. I for one go back and replay Fallout 2 at least every couple of years and quickly find myself obsessed with it all over again, just like when I first played it back in '98. But again, it might be a hard sell and therefore not worth all of the effort. Especially since practically any PC made within the last 10+ years should be able to run the game with no problems.

I got stuck in the ant cave in fallout 3, i was like an hour into it and didn't have enough ammo to move forward without dying and I didn't want to back track over an hour to get out so I just stopped playing.... Maybe I'll give it another shot

Yeah, I had never played fallout before, didn't think of befriending anyone, just got really frustrated and said screw it, there were other games I wanted to play more at the time and I didn't want to fight my way back out when I kept dying

Yeah I know it was silly but at the time i had Gta4, gears of war 2, left for dead, world at war, fable 2, and more to play so it was a pretty easy decision, especially when my wife also liked to play gears of war 2 with the split screen so we played a lot of that one plus I had gotten my PS3 a few months earlier and was playing Motostorm pacific rift and resistance 2 as well, too many games to play and when I got stuck it was easy to put it down for a couple months and never come back

well i'd say Fallout 3 even though i liked New Vegas a bit more.

Just pick any fallout you can get your hands on and play.

I would recommend the ones that will play like fallout 4 though over the original 2.

Fallout 3 and Fallout new Vegas all the way.

Try the first one. If you don't like it (It hasn't aged so well so it would be understandable if you don't like it) try Fallout 3 or New Vegas.

well as a long fallout fan, if you can find wasteland for PC play that one before fallout series, and of course play fallout 1, than 2 and tactics with lan play is quite a hoot, squad vs squad, and has custom playing board creation for players to make areas to play in. the squads of each player can be custom with equipment and skills and abilities. perks and tactics as in cover fire tactical positions like climb ladders and shoot from above and you can flank targets while hidden. turn by turn..pretty awesome game

Hahaha. I was thinking the same things. Even the PC version wasn't exactly flawless, but the console versions were a shambles for a long time and patched up to 'somewhat playable' over time. I remember the PS3 version was so bad at one point, I had to save and restart the game every 30 mins to prevent it from becoming a slide show. Yet I still plowed through them, hundreds of hours worth on each.

No major glitches and bugs just doesn't seem to be possible from Bethesda, they are the worst big name developer by far. I waited over 4 years to play New Vegas and it's still a bug riddled mess.

I don't know about 8/8.1, but there are guides on how to get it to run on Windows 7. It's quite simple really, butttttt you still get frequent crashes. Also, you get some weird gameplay issues, regardless if you have the official/unofficial patch.

agreed from both of you, fallout:tactics on PC was just too freaking Awesome...the fact you could have a death claw in your squad..hahahaha too funny. and the intro with the brotherhood of steel, ..bam right in your snot box..hahahah classic.

and yes in my opinion fallout tactics was very underated for the fact you could drive vehicles!

but i must admit, with fallout 4, to me for myself i think it will dethrone fallout tactics as my fav. fallout. that mod system and customize...well pretty much every freaking thing..lol modification weapons and power armor hell even combat armor mods..so awesome.

For the low, low price of . . . twice the asking price of grabbing them separately. At least when you account for the constant sales you can find them on.

Guess it's good for those on PC who still look for the physical copies, anyway. The nuke is a bit cool.

But still, if you're just worried about the games, everything can be had at dirt cheap for a long, long time now.

I would love to get that but there is one problem......I live in Japan and have my man cave at my home and we have Japanese mama sans (house keeping) come and clean the house, I wouldn't want them to come in here and see a model atomic bomb and think differently of me because they are so nice.....going to unfortunately pass on this one.

This is awesome, but it would be better if they ported to Xbox One and PS4. Having them all on console would be great.

Note, I say better because I play mostly on consoles, no hate to PC.
