Some people love to hate on The Scrolls RPG, but the influence is way greater than the Souls series or anything else you think may be better. I actually enjoy the combat in the scrolls series. It is simple and does not get in the way or lead to frustration. Feels effective and I still loose fights if I am not well prepared for the encounter. Love playing immersive games in fist person. I have a greater sense of being in the environment.

I really hope this game can have the same impact in this different setting, just like Fallout managed to do. We get to see it at E3 and try this month also. These are exciting times to be a gamer.

The elder scrolls games were great worlds with rpg leveling, but boring combat. Swing the sword like an idiot then strafe/back up. It was more about gear than actual combat. Why are you bringing up the scrolls game in a kingdom come article?

Its and RPG first and foremost, not and Action Adventure. You probable think the Souls series is a great RPG because the fights are challenging. I do not enjoy the souls series because of the constant focus on combat. That gets boring to me. I like an RPG that has immersion in every aspect, to the point where I feel like I am actually liking in the world. Have to earn a living, spend wisely, make friends and enemies, earn and own stuff, gain respect any different ways. It is way more than combat. If I need a game that focuses on combat, I get a fighting game. Because I can play that in small spurts. I don't want to do that for hours. But I do understand that many younger people love that heavy focus on combat. Ryse is a combat heavy game. It is not an RPG, but it added finishers and strategy to make it fun along with an entertaining story. But I that is not what I want in an opened world RPG.

Well, there were some nice combat mods :P

@bigpapply lable it what every you want, it has combat, and it sucks. The awful combat is immersion breaking to me. The whole game is just repeating the same missions, getting more gear and level to be stronger/better. Souls games are great GAMES and very immersive no matter how you want to define it; call it a card game for all i care. All the aspect ls you listed in skyrim are either non-existent or completely shallow. Friends? Earn a living? Gain respect? You think that was actually an aspect of skyrim? The world is almost completely nonresponsive and the npcs with even shallow dialogue options were few. Since you are going to do this condescending nonsense like "you probably think" and "younger people" I will go ahead and suggest you try the sims. It has a much better friend making system and monetary management system. To say combat isnt a big aspect of skyrim is crazy. Point me to all the missions that don't involve combat and are just about hanging out with some pals. I never said it needed more combat but combat is a big part of the game, and it isn't good.

Also, Skyrim doesn't have a damn thing to do with this game. This game looks great, and they are attempting to improve upon all the things wrong with the scrolls games and other rpgs.

Just Bought it Thank you after checking reviews alot people enjoyed it Worth Picking up for that Price.

Spenok49d ago

I already own the physical copy on PS4, and even bought it on Steam for my Steamdeck... but I went ahead and bought this as well. Because, why not?

Aussiesummer48d ago

If you just like wasting money sure.

Spenok48d ago

It's not wasting money, it's me supporting the developer, in hopes it helps them in the long run to continue making amazing games.

This one was certainly not a needed purchase. As for the Steam copy, I wanted to be able to take the game on the go, and it was on a good deal besides.

Yeah, good price, saw this yesterday on SX as well
