So we can stop worrying about the Xbox One version then. Looks great. (not glorious or incredible Ab?)

I see our trusty friend sent you the footage too hehe.

Abriael3319d ago

They're pretty much equivalents, but "great" was the only one that fit the 100 character limit lol.

By the way, I was one of the first to advocate that the Xbox One version looks great :D

Bigpappy3319d ago

Yep. I remember when you posted that you actually ha hands-on with the X1 version. I wan never worried about the X1 version though. The higher resolution does give bragging rights to PS4 owners, but I only have to deal with being shouted down by rabid fanboys when I comment here. I when I am paying and speaking to real people who matter, resolution never comes up for discussion.

BecauseImBatman3319d ago

Great job getting this out there so we can this debate to bed. Looks great, lets move on...

GMR_PR3319d ago

Where are the haters now. Good to see the game looks great. Cant wait to play it.

PsylentKiller3319d ago

Have you seen he game running on the PS4? More specifically the same scenes as in this video? I'm curious because the beard on the dude ,who almost got killed by the griffin, looks really muddy like when your writing with pencil and your had smudges the graphite all over the page.

Also, have you noticed any screen tearing or noticeable framerate issues in either version?

mikeslemonade3319d ago

You X1 apologists are full of it. Stop trying to justify your purchase. The developers already admitted parity. They scaled down the PC version too.

Pogmathoin3319d ago

Been watching the comments for a while, and apart from Mikes Urine, has anyone found a valid reason other than stupid fanboyism to undermine this? Fantastic looking, without DX12......

Rookie_Monster3318d ago

Great work Abriael on the preview. Keep up the great work.

miyamoto3318d ago

"By the way, I was one of the first to advocate that the Xbox One version looks great :D"

So that means the PS4 version is even greater. Thanks.

wegetsignalx3311d ago

@Pogmathoin

With that it would still run pretty much the same on Witcher 3.

RocketScienceLvlStuf3319d ago (Edited 3319d ago )

The low 900p resolution is really apparent though. I'll be going with the full 1080p PS4 version.

@Abriel. I do have 20/20 vision thanks.

@Septic. The video is a 720p capture of 900p gameplay. You can still see the difference between 900p and full 1080p because it looks blurrier

Abriael3319d ago (Edited 3319d ago )

You must have 20/10 per eye.

Or... not.

I saw the game running on Xbox One, and it looks even better, by the way. Game DVR is crappy.

Gazondaily3319d ago

The video is highly compressed and limited to 720p as opposed to 900p.

GenuineGamer3319d ago (Edited 3319d ago )

Video is very compressed and still looks amazing.

A native uncompressed feed then upscaled to 1080p on your tv in person will look incredible. I highly doubt anyone in person would be able to say "hey, that's not 100% native 1080p" if they weren't told otherwise.

Game looks amazing but hey, haters gone hate.

skulz73319d ago

Dude don't be like that. I am a PS4 owner and I'm just respecting CDPR for making this game look insane on all platforms. Which ever platform you choose it will look great! :)

Fallen863319d ago

True words skulz7 witch ever platform you pick it will be freaking awesome!

christocolus3319d ago (Edited 3319d ago )

@Rocket

"The low 900p resolution is apparent though" do you know what res youtube vids run at? I guess septic just answerd the question. lmao your comment surprises no one. Once again you rush in to downplay xbox stuff. The game looks great. deal with it.

lifeisgamesok3319d ago

There's always one lol

Looks great!

AstroCyborg3319d ago

nice to know you didn't read the article

Kiwi663319d ago (Edited 3319d ago )

Well your concern for a game on a console that you constantly down play and otherwise have no interest in is very touching

3319d ago
OldDude3319d ago

You must have supervision to tell the difference off of a 720p you tube compressed video. Are you part of the Avengers with that Superpower? I really hope you use it for good, not evil! Wait, your obviously trolling so I guess I already have my answer.

gamer78043318d ago

why is the word "Full" in there, 1080p isn't the maximum resolution for this game, the game on pc can push way beyond 1080p.

+ Show (10) more repliesLast reply 3318d ago
MasterBaker3319d ago

It'll look pretty amazing when we get the full 1080p gameplay, because this is limited to the Xbox DVR

tgunzz3319d ago

Looks to be prestine for all 3 camps...

Magicite3318d ago

We all know that open-world games are weakness of any consoles, so its always wiser to take PC version when possible.

Godmars2903318d ago

It was never about how the game looked on the platform, but rather MS's insecurities how well there version ranked against other platforms. Whether it looked just as good if not better than the PC or, and especially, the PS4 version. Not that such pointless tactics wouldn't be found out by anyone interested in the differences.

TheOneWhoIsTornApart3319d ago

Very impressive. CDProjekt truly are wizards when it comes to programming. This is unreal honestly.

meche3343318d ago

Imo this is the start on the generation. This might be the standard of graphics next year

TheOneWhoIsTornApart3318d ago

Yea this,THe Order, Bloodborne really show what the PS4 can do and this is only the beginning. When finished FFXV will also be a visual spectacle you can be sure. It's definitley an exciting time to be a gamer.

TheOpenWorlder3319d ago

I don't get what the fuss is. The only major difference is 900p vs 1080p...that's what they said and I see no reason why they would lie.

I am definitely to a loss as why they are hiding direct Xbox One gameplay footage for dear life...which would make anyone suspicious as hell but I trust them after Witcher 2. Hopefully they didn't pull an Ubisoft with the XB1 version.

Psychotica3319d ago

I will be playing on PC but this looks perfectly fine unless you want to get nitpicky..

starchild3319d ago

I agree. I'm playing on PC and I can see a few differences, but I won't point them out because I think that all three versions look excellent.

tuglu_pati3319d ago

PC will always look better no doubt about that, its always been like that.

The 7 Best Western RPGs: Immersive Adventures

RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

SimpleSlave65d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan65d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave65d ago (Edited 65d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.

I can't fk with this list. They missed on alot of games probably before the writers times. Also I know people loved some portal but I was never a fan.

Abe’s Odyssey
FF6
King of Fighters 94
Mortal Kombat OG

Street Fighter 2
Resident Evil 1

Infinite but not the first two games? Witcher 3 but not the first two games?? GTA V but not literally any of the games before it??? Portal 2 but not the first? Also if you're going to play Shadow of The Colossus play the remaster and not the remake. Can't say I disagree with the list but my man it's all over the place.

Name Last Name88d ago

I mean some sequels are objectively better and you don’t need to play the whole series.

Inverno88d ago

But most of these games have a story to follow, sure you can catch up with a YouTube vid but where's the fun in that?

LucasRuinedChildhood88d ago (Edited 88d ago )

A list like this isn't telling you not to play the previous games if you want to. It's just giving you legendary games to play.

But tbh, you don't always have to force yourself to play every entry in a franchise to get to the better ones.

- The vast majority of Witcher 3 players never played the first 2 and had a great time. The first 2 games aren't in the same league.
- The GTA games are self-contained with the odd fun reference. You can easily jump into any of them.
- The Shadow Of The Colossus remake looks and controls better than the original (plus it has a 60fps option while the remaster is just 30fps). New players will enjoy it more.
- Portal 2 is a lot better than Portal 1 and takes the concept much further gameplay-wise. Storywise, Portal 1 is fairly light too. Not that you shouldn't play it but realistically ... you'd love Portal 2 whether you play it or not (at lot of Portal 2 players have never played 1).

Bioshock 1 is the only one I agree with you on simply because it's one the best games of all time and arguably better than Infinite. No other setting like Rapture.

Looking at the list, I'd recommend playing Uncharted 1 before 2 but no doubt, 2 is the legendary one you have to play.

Inverno88d ago

I get it, but that's just my opinion on his opinion. I just think that before you play a sequel you should still play what came before it. Maybe it's just me but i find it fascinating playing through the first game in a series and seeing how it has evolved through its sequels. Like I said I don't disagree with the list, other than SoTC which I strongly believe the remaster of the original should be played above the remake.

AuraAbjure88d ago

Awesome list! Hot take on Fear (and it's hard af expansion Persaus Mandate!) Bioshock Infinite is stellar, so is the Witcher 3 and you nailed it by having Ocarina of Time. So many fantastic games! Gotta play 'em all! Next one on my list is Prey after I beat Dead Space 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction.
