Retro-Inactive with Gaming Rebellion here with a special episode of Back In My Day A-Z, a series where I introduce my kids to classic video games, we're helping raise awareness for the ToeJam & Earl Back In The Groove Kickstarter. With under 2 weeks remaining, they are far from their goal and need all of our help.
So I want to encourage everyone to pledge what they can, but even more so, keep spreading the word to get this deserving game funded.
Starting today, Darkwood and ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove are free at Epic Games Store. The free game offers run until October 20 at 11 AM Eastern. Once you claim them, they're yours to keep.
In the 16-bit era, game devs and composers could finally change the type of tones used in the music, simulating a wider array of instruments and creating a whole lot of great soundtracks in the process.
It wasn’t easy picking out the best of the best because there were so many great ones. Even middle-of-the-road soundtracks seemed to deserve a bump if the game was just that damn good, and so many from that era are that damn good!
Here's the Ghetto Gamer list of top 20 soundtracks from the 16-bit era.
HumaNature Studios is exploring making a new ToeJam & Earl game and asking fans to take a survey admist the franchise's 30th anniversary.
Glad to see more people learning about this underrated gem.
Money!
Ill support the kickstarter once the goal hits ps4 release. It would be ashame to put money down on a game that i wouldnt get to play. And my wallet is broke from bloodborne and dark souls 2 preorders anyway
Toejam and earl was an awesome game back on the genesis though! Great childhood memories
This is easily one of your best videos, Levi. Great work.
This was a fun video. I had no idea Caveman Ugh-Lympics even existed until I saw this, or that Greg Johnson was the designer. The graphics and animation was pretty darn good for the NES actually.
