F-Zero Wii AKA F-Zero Z rumored to be announced at E3

A new F-Zero Wii game is said to be unveiled by Nintendo at the E3 Summit 2008 on July 15-17th, currently it's codenamed F-Zero Z. Expect the racing game to have been developed internally at Nintendo, since Shigeru Miyamoto commented Sega's F-Zero GX "did not deliver".

F-Zero GX didn't deliver? Since when? Um.. (head scratch here)
GX's timing was kinda tough, because it was around the time arcades were dwindling down. That I understand, but GX was an excellent, although challenging racer. (it was missing an online mode.. but then again it would cause some eye strain, seeing how fast some of the tracks were.)

Thing is.. is another F-Zero possible? Since most of the AM2 team isn't in the same dept. anymore. Plus whomever used to be part of the F-Zero team moved on to other things. Nintendo has its hopes a bit too high.. Guess we'll have to wait and see

" A weapon system has also been confirmed,” according to German website NintendoPlanet who leaked the news a while back.
"

this was a late Arpil fool joke >_<
if there are going to be weapons F-zero = dead.

Omg...screw weapons...I just want fast times. If I can turn them off when I play online that's fine. I was playing f-zero gx like 20 min ago, I love it.

Isaac5809d ago

So what will be new? Oh, the control scheme which won't add much to the experience, mediocre online play with friend codes and no achievements/trophies. I guess I'll pass.

Ex-Nintendo designer says no new F-Zero due to Mario Kart, low sales & high costs

F-Zero has been a dormant franchise for a couple of decades now. In fact, if it weren’t for the obvious appearances that Captain Falcon has been making in Super Smash Bros. games, you could get the impression that Nintendo has forgotten all about the series.

Have a new F-Zero hit within the first 2 years of Switch 2 and watch it sell away.

Can’t believe Nintendo chose a remaster for Cruise N Blast over F-Zero GX

GhostScholar318d ago

I wish they would see the license then.

Maybe Nintendo should learn to drop the prices on their games if they want more sales. I have seen games that are 4 years old on store shelves at full price.

Rockstar317d ago

I've had treasure tracker for the switch bookmarked since it was released waiting for the price to hit my sweet spot of 30 bucks...still waiting...

We haven't seen a lot of franchise's from Nintendo. Mario will always stay as the shit stain of Nintendo. Mario games are fun and Kirby but some times you get tired of seeing Mario everywhere literally everywhere. They are playing it safe.

It's Time for a New F-Zero Game

F-Zero is one of Nintendo's most neglected franchises, but the high-speed racing title could stand out from Mario Kart and utilize modern graphics.

We are probably only getting a new one when Miyamoto dies.

ZeekQuattro498d ago

There's a rumor GX is being ported over but we know how that goes.

Minute Man 721498d ago

No....the last one sold like 20k or something lower that a limbo pole

It is, but it’s a bummer it would most likely be held back by Nintendos weak hardware

Top 20 Soundtracks From the 16-Bit Era

In the 16-bit era, game devs and composers could finally change the type of tones used in the music, simulating a wider array of instruments and creating a whole lot of great soundtracks in the process.

It wasn’t easy picking out the best of the best because there were so many great ones. Even middle-of-the-road soundtracks seemed to deserve a bump if the game was just that damn good, and so many from that era are that damn good!

Here's the Ghetto Gamer list of top 20 soundtracks from the 16-bit era.
