I almost fall a sleep. Really HOME is not my thing, i respect Sony for making it and it being free. I only care for XMB in game

lol whatever floaats your boat, you must not play the sims right?

...close to The Sims.

I like the look of home but I just can't seem to get my head around how it will improve gaming for me. However, maybe is doesn't have to as Home does not have to be for everyone. I will check it out once it's released and who knows, maybe I'll get hooked.

My biggest concern I do have for Home is how will it perform in a country like NZ where broadband is still iffy (especially in the evenings when everyone seems to jump on-line) and we don't have dedicated gaming Servers for PSN. Hell, I do speed checks (www.speedtest.net) in the evenings against NZ based servers, most nights I'm down to 400kbps - resulting in a Playstation store that crawls along (NB: the same test performed during AM hours and prior to about 4:30pm yields speeds of around 3.5Mbps). Doing the same speed test against overseas servers (e.g. Australia) in the evenings can yield speeds slower than dialup....grrr.

Let us hope that Beta testers have been talking and Sony have been listening because speed, variety, flexibility, support and integration are all key to this working for Sony. Let's hope that there is some kind of real common sense and focus behind the development of this application.

Who knows what we could end up with? Maybe some sort of leveling system with privileges based on gamer score perhaps? Game trophies to include items such as T-shirts, hats, item coupons?

They should be looking at everything online that makes people brag and compete and use it!

Game launching needs to be quick, useful, dynamic and entertaining to be a success. I really hope that they pull it off in the end...

We will have to wait and see ;)

I kind of agree that I do like the look of Home but can't see how it would improve gaming for me.

I mean if I wanted to chat to a friend I would rather do it in a game playing co-op or multiplayer or something instead of just stading around in Home.

I can see how it would improve gaming for the guys that are in clans since they can easily get together in Home and meet in their spaces.

That's kind of what I want to see. Say now I buy Burnout Paradise I want things like a t shirt with Burnout on it available to wear and when I reach 100% I want a silver and black elite t shirt to wear. And you can unlock other stuff the further you progress.

Another thing I want to see in Home are spaces for developers so I can say go to Insomniac's own space and watch exclusive videos of Resistance 2 and maybe they can host live chats with the developers in Home. That would be interesting to join in.

Home is like a 3D gaming site, why do you come here for video games? In PlayStation Home you're able to talk to people in real time of what you see instead of doing this text thing. Basically that's what Home really is a 3D world where gamers can connect, share, and communicate. It's like how come people make video blogs or text blogs on website instead of just talking in person? On the internet things can spread a lot faster and can have a wider audience then a couple of people in the conversation.

People come here to communicate, share, and maybe connect if there is a friends list. You can also think of it like a 3D virtual experience of the PlayStation Network.

So, I Finally Played Home

I recently published an article about beating my Steam backlog by getting organised and the first game I’ve completed with this new approach is Home.

I chose Home not because of its production values or reviews, but because, well, it’s short. I needed a game to start my new approach on the right foot and read that Home takes less than two hours to beat.

Whatever my reasons for finally installing Home, I found it to be an enjoyable yet flawed title.
