1000 signature are like a moschito on the ass of an elephant. Let's hope it doesn't seat. I did rent the game through GameFly and I am enojoyning. I do understand the hunger of having a sub-par version of the game compared to the 360/pc one. I do also have a 360 but I wanted to see myself these issues. They are not too bad and the single player of HL2 is playable, however there are some sequences were frame rate problems condition my aiming skills. All in all the content of the package is stellar BUT for a full price of $60 one would expect a better polished product.

I'm surprised to see not a lot of servers are on steam, or maybe I'm just expecting more because this game has finally pulled me back from console gaming to pc. Valve has actually scoffed at the idea of upgrading the Source Engine, or even starting from scratch to make a more powerful, up-to-date successor to that engine (which itself is derived from another developer's engine).

They're great at designing, but design can only hold up for so long before old technology starts to hold it back. If they don't want to develop for PS3, they shouldn't even bother outsourcing their games to that platform. It's a bizarre decision that basically says "We don't want to do the work, but we want the money."

Ima have to say that the fool said something intelligent for once. Valve said they had no interest in the PS3 long before orange box was even announced for 360 or PS3. I dunno why people expected them to put the same effort into the PS3 port as the 360 port. So ya, be happy that there's even a PS3 version of the game. ...HL2 was dull and extremely linear. Vehicle controls were also what I'd expect from a cheap knock off of a HL game.

HL2:E1 and E2 were ok and got better as you went but was any of it as ground breaking as the original HL...in my opinion no.

Team Fortress 2 just didn't do it for me as after experiencing the much more realistic COD4 TF2 just felt like something that should have been released 3-4 years ago.

Portal, whilst fun seemed like something that should have been classed as freeware or something you'd download from XBL marketplace or PSN as it no way feels like a full game or any nature.

The only thing that was of great value was the fact that all of the above was bundled together for one low price. When I owned it on the 360 it provided me with about 10-12 hours of something to do but nothing that drew me in like a COD4 or the original HL. I have avoided getting the PS3 version just to see what its like because to be honest, there are much better games out there (i.e. Gears of War, Uncharted, COD4, etc).

I'm an Xboxer, but I hate it when my ps3 brethren get a raw deal on a game, like Lair, and well, this poor port of orange box. I mean come on, if you're not going to put any effort into devving for the ps3, then don't. But don't think that because of your name you're going to get these guys hopes up, take their money, and laugh as they talk up their 1,000 person petition for a resolution for such a poor excuse for a port! 1,000 person petition couldnt even get you farted on. But I will say that you ps3 gamers do have some killer apps coming up, I guess we'll have to see. We'll enjoy Ninja Gaiden II and others while you guys enjoy MGS4 and others. Play on players!

...if they'd actually play and review the appropriate versions of a game on the respective systems AND stop slapping up the same score/review for a game they've never played on another system we wouldn't be falling into these booby traps called crap games developed by crap developers. You are a crappy developer if the SAME game doesn't have the same quality across platforms. That's like going to a Burger King in another city and the Whopper not taste like a Whopper.

Likewise we as consumers wouldn't waste our hard earned money on a purchase that isn't worthy of a rental. I wouldn't hold Valve responsible for this. They have stated time and again that they are not PS3 developers. They had no intention of getting this game onto the PS3 to begin with. That was EA's call, and as such, their responsibility.

I do agree, however, that you should hesitate before buying a Valve game on the PS3, because a third-party developer was most likely involved. You're better off renting before you buy in those situations because quality will suffer if the port wasn't done properly. That's why most of the early cross-platform games were such utter crap on PS3 - developers didn't know how to program for it properly yet, so we ended up with a slew of horrible ports.

Vote with your money. If you have a problem with the way EA treats PS3 customers, don't buy their garbage shovelware in the future. If you're particularly passionate about it, write them a letter or email whenever you decide to pass up on one of their games due to past performance with the platform.

Petitions are dandy if you can get the word out and get signatures, but a boycott would be better. Get other people involved and just don't buy their products. They'll either shape up, or they won't, and either way, you won't be disappointed by another one of their games again.

It's a pretty safe bet that you should let your hope for an Orange Box patch go, though. Nothing's going to get done to improve that situation. EA got their money, so they're done with you.

Either way, you should always make use of rental services first for cross-platform games. You never know when they're going to suck. Like it or not, PS3 owners have been second class citizens to game developers for a while now. We're finally coming into our own, though, so I don't expect this to happen nearly as often in the future. EA got a lot of sales on the PS3 this last year, so I'd be surprised if they kept shoveling dog poo our way.

Hl2 franchise is wearing thin.

I've played every one of them on pc and tbh, i could not careless about the game now.

They badly need a new i.p. and i'm not talking portal.

Graphics are outdated. Enemies are weak and so easy to kill even on the hardest mode.

How long has the petition been up because 1000 seems quite low. Seems like they can get that for a crp local initiative in a day or two and thats sitting on a corner or at a grocery store.

Ultimatly I dont think a patch or remake will be worth the effort for the devs or for the fans. This is by far the most overrated of all the games on metacritic. I mean it seems quite the value with 4-5 games in one, but as I didnt even bother to finish HL2 (got bored and moved on to better games) it really wasnt worth the $60 to me. Though I have gotten a lot of recommendations on Portal so I may have to go back and play that sometime when no other good games are out (whenever the hell that will be).

Multi-Platform Outcryies started with the DMC4 jumping ship. Well it really didn't do much with petitions.

Gamers abandoned the franchise and some boycotted it, which only helped MS in the long-run.

Has there been one petition that has swayed Gaming devs? Is till have like 10(GAME REMAKES) that are still going strong, but yet, not have work.
