PlayStation app coming to PS Vita as “PS4 link” with “next update”

The PS4 PlayStation App that’ll let you trigger remote downloads and message friends from your phone or tablet will be added to the PS Vita with the next firmware update according to yet another Twitter update from Shuhei Yoshida.

Here’s what Shu had to say on the matter when questioned. The fact that he refers to it as the “‘PS4 Link’ app”, and not the PlayStation app, specifically suggests it’s a PS Vita specific version of the service.

they dont have to do much when you think about it. they can integrate voice messaging and remote downloads and other things through the vita's default applications.

Now they just need to put "Friends", "Messages" and "Party" into one single app instead of 3 and make the Vita be always connected to the internet unless you deactivate wi-fi. Doesn't make sense when I go to friends and it connects to psn, then I exit and go to messages and the process repeats and even worst I can't receive messages in real time like ps3, unless I'm smashing the refresh icon on the screen inside the app -.-'

Ps4/Vita remote play is easily the best feature imo in regards to next gen consoles, this stuff just keeps getting better with the Vita apps and ps4 link!

Edit - i should have read the article first lol, seems i can now trade my unsed tablet in as i can use my vita for second screen apps!

You can use it for the playstation app. It hasn't been confirmed that other second screen apps will be available for vita. For instance, Watch Dogs and The Division are PS4 games that will both have second screen apps, but we don't know that those apps will be available on the Vita yet. I am very hopeful that they will, but right now, we just don't know.

yea im hopeful that it is, would be stupid if not really. The way the tweet read makes it seem like its gonna be though, fingers crossed
