Does Anyone Still Want a New Prince of Persia

It’s a bit unsettling to me to think back and realize that the last time we had a new Prince of Persia game, it was back in Christmas of 2008. It was supposed to be a reboot the series, taking the Prince we all knew and loved and giving him a high-def debut, complete with Nolan North as the voice of the prince for the HD generation, and, like Assassin’s Creed, the start of a new, profitable franchise for Ubisoft. Instead, five years later, we got a mobile game and no peep at any E3 or Gamescom about the fate of the series on consoles. Unfortunately, given the problems that the reboot had, at this point.

as much as i enjoyed the 2008 reboot i think they should have just left it the franchise alone and ended it with two thrones

ShugaCane3939d ago

Errh, I didn't like the reboot. And the way they handled the ending was unforgivable. I would love a PoP as mesmorizing as Sands of Time, which is to me the best episode to date.

TopDudeMan3939d ago

Forgotten sands, anyone? Or did everyone just forget about that? That game was awesome!

-Foxtrot3939d ago

I do because I completed the Epilogue DLC for the 2008 reboot and it left it with a cliff hanger. If they end up rebooting it again I would be highly p***** off.

I enjoyed the games. I would buy and play another one.

Looking Back to 2004 and the Dark Prince of Persia: Warrior Within

Edgar writes: "Back in the early 2000s, Prince of Persia was the franchise to beat. Parkour-like traversal, intricate puzzles and intense combat: what's not to like? Earning flattering review scores and numerous awards, The Sands of Time established itself as the prime action-adventure game. But how does one follow up something so flawless? Two words: Warrior Within."

This game was really hard! It took me over a year to beat and one of my friends just couldn't do it. I wish I'd known at the time about getting all the collectables in order to kill the Dahaka.

KaaF1644d ago

That game was pretty unique, the Dahaka is one of the best bosses in video games ever, the battle mechanics really felt like aerobics.

Loved the Prince of Persia games, hope they'll make a return some day.

Fist4achin1644d ago

Yes. I was going to say there hasn't been any POP entries in a long time.

wwinterj1644d ago

I'd even settle for another remaster of the old games.

cochise3131644d ago

This was my favorite one. Still have it for the gamecube.

Genuinely a poor list. When I read a title like "Worst Male Character Designs.." I expect the author to have some grasp of artistic methods, aesthetics, and knowledge--but here all we get is a few sentences which add up to "dun like the character because they look angsty".

Eilers2509d ago

Prince - Warrior Within
Danta - DmC
Chris Redfield - RE 5
Rad Spencer - Bionic Commando
Remy -SF 3 Third Strike

Not worth a reading IMO
