Price is Right for Playstation 2

(only of curse if your not a hard core gamer)

Wave goodbye to the Wii, pass on the PS3 and pull a 180 on the 360 - if you're looking for a way to play great games without breaking the bank.

lol was just about to submit this. How many yrs now and still fighting

Great selection there too. It has been about 7/8years no?

Beuaitful final selection. Including Shadow of the Colossus. I love it when websites acknowledge that game as one of the greats, up there with San Andreas and God of War. Although SotC is better than GoW, much better. Art direction, freedom, big bosses, and just an assortment of all those stuffed together.

The casual gamer has made the Ps2 the success it is.

The casual gamer has made the Wii the success it is.

Forget not the causal gamer

PS

Pls Sony, develop a Play-mote and game(stripped down Killzone1 would be cool) to be used on the Ps2 just to test the technology. You'll probably get some good sales as well further extend the life of the Ps2.

Then you can bring the Play-mote to the Ps3 or Ps4.

I think that it is funny that payed journalist at GameSpot and 1UP sites, like to pretend to wonder "Why hasn't Sony cut price down to 99$ on PS2 already?!". Instead of asking "When will first price cut on Wii come?". That machine costs 250$, they were making 50$ on units sold on release day, how much are they making 15 months later? Maybe 100$ or more? Only God knows, but no one is pressuring Nintendo to answer on those questions and why are they ripping customers? Instead they talk about PS2 and how Sony should kill it. Damn bots.

ReBurn5903d ago

I guess Nintendo would drop the price of the Wii if they were having trouble selling them, right?

heyheyhey5903d ago

didn't stop it from outselling both the PS3 and 360 at NPD

it's dirt cheap and has over 2000 games released- meaning it will continue to sell by the bucket load for years to come

and it's still getting great games released for it- like AITD5, Mercs 2 and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

it has serious staying power

I've read your post and am sure that theres a point to it but for the life of me i can't seem to find it. So help me out what was the point you hoped to get across?

Jamaicangmr5903d ago

Oh so am not crazy then i thought you had no point. Stating the obvious doesn't a good post make. Next time contribute to the article don't spam.

NO_PUDding5903d ago

Although I hate to bust your chops Jamaicangmr,

You did say you were "sure that there's a point to it but for the life of me i can't seem to find it".

And then your retort, was "Oh so am not crazy then i thought you had no point".

Anyway, that makes no sense.

In other news Rockwallaby, to be honest, it's not last gen news, because we are here in the next gen, and the PS2 is still selling like hotcakes to those who will all eventually jump ship to PS3 when the PS4 is released. 'Comprendeh'?

Hellgiver5903d ago (Edited 5903d ago )

Just because it is "last gen" graphically doesn't mean it isn't a great buy for people who are just now deciding to play some games. It is probably the absolute best buy you can make if you want to play some great RPGs, along with a SNES. It introduced some of the best hack n slash of all time, Devil May Cry and God of War. It even had some great GTA and great MGS on it. It may be last gen, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great system to buy, since great games are not always defined by their graphics. If I can find a game that has the amazing graphics of 360 or PS3 and the awesome content of PS2 games, it'd be gaming heaven.

$120 for a video game console with one of the best and biggest video game library ever and counting. Hmmm seems like a deal for me.
