Reggie Fils-Aime made a promise today: the Wii U's launch will be the greatest in Nintendo history. Rant Gaming takes a look at the launch titles of Nintendo's past to see what New Super Mario Bros U and ZombiU are competing against.
The Nintendo 64 era was a fantastic time for platformer games, featuring timeless classics and obscure hidden gems.
Game developers have already started to confirm that they will support the Nintendo Switch 2 with their future titles.
Hanzala from eXputer: "As Nintendo takes out 20 years' worth of stuff from Garry's Mod, I watch in shock, thinking why it continues to hurt and discourage its fans."
The irony that some of the most disgusting business practices come from companies like Disney or Nintendo, i can't even begin to understand what terrible damage was Garrys Mod making to Nintendo bottom line, imho they're getting pretty nervous about where they're heading in the future, handhelds are no longer something exclusive to Nintendo, from Steam Deck to many others, now you can play the latest games and pay a fraction of the price on Steam sales, so it's up to their exclusives, which just on their own would make hard to justify purchasing a closed overpriced hardware with outrageous price policies (Super Mario Odyssey is still 60 euro 6 years later!), and as a home console they're always underperforming compared to Sony or Xbox.
Look at how they handled Nintendo games being streamed or uploaded on YouTube in the past. They killed Yuzu and Citra even when they had nothing to do with ToTK being leaked, not to mention it was basically unplayable on emulation the week it was leaked. Smash Bros tournament, that was fairly recent. They shut down their online services without any care for purchases made. I bought a switch after skipping their last 2 consoles and handhelds but I don't plan on buying anything Nintendo in the future. They take things to the extremes, they legitimately hate their fans. They're honestly right up there with the likes of Acti, EA, and Ubi, only difference is that they disguise themselves as being family friendly all the while being shady.
Well, if the shoe fits...
i dont see anything great in it yet, i see one good game (ZombiU) and i could see myself playing the Metroid Blast in Nintendo Land but thats about it and thats all im getting at launch (the premium system, ZombiU and Nintendo Land ) then i will wait to see if another game catches my attention because as of today only ZombiU has done it, of course i will be getting zelda when it releases thats a no brainer for me.
Everyone said the Vita's was oh so amazing, now look that them, saying it has no games. No, I am not bashing the Vita, I love mine, just saying.
I don't see anything great about the Wii U's launch, most of them are ports of games I can get without the system. Which is expected when a console comes out, I shall pick one up sometime next year, when SSB, Zelda, and B2 are shown in full and the first of those three come out... Which will most likely be B2.
I firmly agree and believe that the Nintendo Wii U entertainment system sports the greatest launch lineup in the history of the gaming spectrum. Never before have I witnessed so many AAA quality offerings touching down with the mother ship. Far too many great experiences to purchase all at once. A problem that I openly welcome.
This is one console that likely will not have a dry spell shortly after launch. Nintendo has played the cards very well as far as pretty much everything is concerned this time around. As a consumer I am honored and grateful for this achievement unlocked in the home console gaming space. Thanks to Nintendo taking a leap of faith in the name of Elite gaming and technology. The next generation is already shaping up to be one of the very best. Strengthening the Nintendo Brand name all around.
Nintendo shall always be remembered for taking gaming and innovation to the next level. Likely paving the way for future next generation consoles to come in the next couple of years.
Have a blessed day and happy gaming.
Rated E For Everyone
I'm all for Wii U, but the lineup looks decent because of ports and exclusives, not because it's amazing. They aren't system sellers, but they're good.
