Dark Sector review(ps3)

Dark Sector has been a long time in the making but finally has arrived in the form of a third person shooter action game.

In Dark Sector you play as Hayden Tenno a special agent sent to a small town in Europe to find someone called Mezner but after he finds him his big monstrous bodyguard infects Tenno with a deadly virus that Mezner had created but unlike other peoples he won`t die and instead would get some cool powers.

the game plays in what is becoming a standard for tps with an over the shoulder cam and a cover system.the game controls work pretty well besides the melee attacks, you start the with a pistol and then you can buy more weapons on the black market,Tenno can only carry to weapons at the time but you can also use the enemies weapons for a short time period this is because the shotguns and AK use by the soldiers have a mechanism for not to work with infected people and explode a few seconds after you picked up.

while the handguns, shotguns and riffles are a lot of fun the most important weapon of the game is the glaive a three bladed boomerang that grows of Hayden`s hand after infected while the glaive can be used as a weapon it`s primarily function is to solve the puzzle throughout the game you can charge the glaive with fire, electricity or ice.

at the end Dark Sector is a pretty fun game with amazing graphics good gameplay and some cool new ideas and while it borrows others from games like RE4,GeOW-uncharted and others it does a good job to keep the formula in good shape, the game last about 10h unfortunately after you pass it you cant play with the weapons you have already bough on the black market if you start a new game. there is a multiplayer mode so you can have some fun with your buddies. now lets hope for a sequel Darker Sector.

Five of the Best: PlayStation 3 Hidden Gems

Chris Needham writes: "With the launch of both the PS4 and the Xbox One now a fading memory, the current generation of gaming consoles has well and truly established itself, with games such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Batman: Arkham Knight and, of course, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, all justifiably taking the limelight. Here at Power Up Gaming, however, we’re not so keen to let go of the past. Originally starting out our coverage as primarily a retro games outlet, we take great pleasure in revelling in the titles of yesteryear."

Last Chance to Play: Dark Sector

"ZL: Before we knew of the Xbox 360, or anything concrete about the PlayStation 3, we had heard the name Dark Sector. This was a time when what would become the Wii was known only as the mysterious “Revolution.” The 7th Generation of video game consoles hadn’t even begun and we already received a taste of what was on the horizon with a video released by Digital Extremes."

That's interesting, They approached Sony with ideas several times, since they are independent, I wished Sony would have published one of their ideas as an exclusive! I loved Dark Sector, even the original concept of the game! Going to see about Warframe at launch.
