Yes, those barely better than PS2/Xbox graphics are 'the best the 360 can do'.

Epic was able to capitalize on the humiliation Xbox fans felt from the Xbox 1.5 label and feed them the lies about graphics they so desperately wanted to believe. On its own merits Gears of War is nothing more than a Kill.switch clone with crap graphics and broken online play.

I am not sold on Quantum Theory. But I think UC2 has filled my 3rd person action fix for the time being. If Epic is working on a New IP it will likely be multi-plat. If it is multi-plat then PS3 will get a Gears of War Game since Cliffy B. has never done anything but Bruding Super Space Marine games, I would be shocked if he could do something different.

First off, don't get me wrong, I loved both Gears games and thought they looked excellent, but when I played the first Gears back in 2006 I thought "All right! This is finally next gen! They just raised the bar on the 360 and I can't wait to see what they do next!"

Then I waited. And waited. And kept waiting. Two years later, Gears 2 came out and I have to say, it looked pretty much on par with the first Gears. Again, not that there's anything wrong with that but Epic seemed to be the only one who really pushed the 360 and I wanted something more. I'm very much looking forward to the next Gears installment, but I've already resigned myself to the fact that it's probably not going to look any better than Gears/Gears2. I mean, if the 360 were capable of better, wouldn't somebody have done it by now? It's been 4 years.

First of all, Gears 2 look so much better than the original. You have to see them side by side and you will see the differences. More detailed characters, better lightning, more characters on the screen and more. Secondly, Alan Wake is looking fantastic and it's a better looking game than Gears 2.Go and see the latest game play footage for Alan Wake at Gametrailers and I swear you are going to see the best lightning effects thus far. Also, Final Fantasy 13 look phenomenal.

Gears of War 2 looks just as bad as the original. The laughable bad graphics didn't improve at all. The two games look so close that when comparison stories came out people kept getting screenshots mixed up.

Unreal is Third Party and they do what they think is best, if they want to jump to the PS3 there is nothing that can't hold them, knowing that we can assume M$ is making sure Gears stay exclusive

And again I feel it's necessary to point out, I have nothing against either Gears game's graphics - they are hands down the best the 360 has to offer, but I disagree. I don't think Gears 2 was a leap over the first Gears. They changed the color palette, added some blurring and lighting but other then that it was the same, and the texture pop in and framerate issues were still there like the first. Considering they both use the same engine, that shouldn't really surprise anyone. Still two of the best looking games I've seen this generation.

As for Alan Wake, don't tease me. I've been looking forward to that game for years but for the longest time it was like Bigfoot, more rumor than anything else. Now we've got some gameplay footage but we don't even know if that's running on a 360 or some developers PC hardware. I'm quite looking forward to this game, it'll probably be the first 360 game I buy since Fable 2 came out, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up with this title. There's nothing worse than being caught up in the hype and then let down by a mediocre title. I was so pumped for Too Human and that game was such a let down, from one of my favorite developers, no less.

I too agree with PirateThom in that although I really like Gears the gameplay in the sequel had become a bit stale, the vehicular felt as though it was tacked on and not done very well.

I did like the new way they did the boss battles where you had to hit certain buttons in time but I think that it needs to be expanded on and be more like the way it is in GOW and UC

Developers are not stupid. They know the English language well and the gaming community. If he wanted to be definitive he would have clearly stated something along the lines of "Gears is a MS 360 exclusive title. There are no plans at all of bring it onto the Playstation in any form. Let's not forget how rabid 2k were about denying PS3 Bioshock while they had developers working on it on the PS3.

Good to see he liked Uncharted 2! It is a well polished game and his studio should take some lessons from it and apply them for Gears of War 3, which we all know is coming exclusively for 360.

Epic is a smart studio and obviously are hoping to get money bags for their 'next game' from a exclusive publisher like Sony or Microsoft, they are in a position to do that now.

I would actually like to see them do a PSN game, thought the quality of their last XBLA was rather good. I myself am not that big of a fan of Gears of War, this has nothing to do with the console its on, just my taste in games. Though Unreal III was fun.

There's always going to be that chance that a Gears can come to PS3, only because the studio that makes it is 3rd party, not for any other real reason.

For example, we can safely say that Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 cannot come to 360 because they are IPs owned by Sony and Sony just won't allow it. But people often wonder what kind of say does Microsoft have in keeping Gears exclusive to 360 in terms of consoles.

This is no fanboy stuff here and anyone who wants to go there, just forget about it, because I'm speaking from my real thoughts. I'm very serious in what I'm saying here. I played Gears of War 2 last Christmas at my cousin's house and while I thought it looked good and action-packed, I personally did'nt see what the big fuss was about. It's nothing I aint seen before - steroid-taking, muscular space marines with big, mean bazookas blasting aliens to pieces. I dont see anything groundbreaking, Gears is just a very good action game but nothing more. I certainly can live without it, especially after playing this years best game - Uncharted 2.

Please note Gears will not be making an appearance on the PS3. Gears is a big 3rd party exclusive for MS, and they won't be letting this go to PS3 easily. Even though Epic controls the Gears franchise, PS3 version of Gears will not happen at all.
Proof: In one of the news reported on N4G, MS is looking for a producer who can help out on Gears. MS will not be doing this if Gears was going to PS3. PS3 fans can read between the lines all they want, this isn't happening.

It's a strong console but it also has its limits.

Quantum Theory videos are alpha's and beta's.

There are some interesting idea's and i think you'll see more decent stuff later on.

If they did bring gears over, they'd have to do both parts on one blu-ray. Heck stick the third in there as well.

I've always been going back to gears 2, i've kept it for the multiplayer, a bit laggy sometimes yeah. I'm glad its not coming to ps3. I've been playing MW2 and UC2 but getting sick of them already. Not as brutal as good ol' gears. (and yeah the acting is a bit B grade)

I still think theres a tiny, tiny, tiny slight chance Gears will see the light of day on PS3 way down the line...like when the trilogy is done on Xbox360 but, will anyone care by then? My prediction is they plop the whole series on a Blu-Ray and call it The "Gear of War Saga". He did say "Any time soon" that's not an outright denial.

Ehh IMO I'd much rather see the Splinter Cell Collection released on a single Blu-Ray...PC ports not PS2 ports like the God of War Collection. Especially Chaos Theory DROOL!

Those are the one's confirmed for 2010 whereas Fable 3 and Gears 2 haven't.

Since when has a Fable game made it's target release date? Fable I and II were delayed at least twice. I severely doubt that it's going to make it's initial launch date.

Anything about Gears 3 is all guesswork. There's no evidence whatsoever. Personally I think that they should wait until next gen. Gears 2 was almost identical to gears 1 in terms of graphics. It's clear that they either maxed out the 360 or they have done all they can in terms of graphics. I would rather have them wait and wow us next gen.

I found funny Epic's behviour.
They've got a cool game formula and have a clear personal character design.
They could take Gears gameplay, change character, story and setting and make a new franchise for PS3.
What's more interesting is that UE works on par with both consoles.

After the timed exclusive experiment of Unreal Tournament 3 on PS3 fails so badly..I doubt EPIC cares about making games on PS3 anytime soon.

Also, Gears of War 3 is coming end of 2010. Halo Reach in September and Gears 3 in November is a lethal 1-2 punch combo.

and Im no where near convinced by Quantum Theory yet. Haven't seen enough to place it above Gears. Gears1&2, L4D1&2, Littlebigplanet, and Uncharted 2 are the most fun in multiplayer I've had this gen. To me, everything else just don't compare... and I also own both Resistance's, MGS4, Killzone 2, Halo 3,... none even come close!

Exlusived are always the best if you ask me. Sure MW2 is great, but not in ever aspect, multiplayer competetiv(sp?) is crap, and this is important to me.

Exlusives are the way to go, so I don't mind I have only can play Gears at my friends place, because I don't thinkt it would have been as good in the first place if it were for both PS3 and X360.
