New COD is announced.
Fans pissed over how broken the last installment was complain and pretend, just to seem cool, that they have no interest in this new one.
Gameplay is shown and now all of a sudden "oh wow, that doesn't look bad at all." Even though it is exactly the same as the past games.

So sad. Activision has you bent.

I nearly cried when the sequence started off with blowing up a door and entering it in slow-mo lol. As if they didn't already overdo it in MW2. the rest lokked quite good, but it's still just CoD prettied up a bit

Along with far too many others to name, especially the scripted as hell single player, although enjoyable for how long it lasts.

The video is quite small so it's difficult to say anything with 100% conviction. However, though I usually fall under the category of "sigh another COD game, move along", that video was pretty wild. I don't much mind if they're scripted events as long as it draws me into the environment and the overall feel of the experience.

Who knows, it may end up being same old COD (MW2 and BlackOps looked very outdated to me), but it may end up being a bit of a revival for the franchise. I didn't watch the conference so f*** if I know.

Look... The average cod fan is a 12 yr old noob who does not get what great story in a fps is. They dont understand what PVP and Host advantage is and they dont care... Any game that has dedicated servers and even gameplay moderatly near cods will absolutly destroy it... Homefrount came close but had too many setbacks... will there be any game coming out that has a chance?

on another note, The AA12 are really too powerfull to be in video games... In real life they have a range of up to 120 meters with the right ammo... Why would you replicate that in a video game when it would be total cheeze? why not add the thunder gun while youre at it?

Look like classic call of duty, for better or worse.
The one thing i've never liked about any of the modern warfare games was the level of destruction. You know, cities getting leveled, buildings getting blown up. That just doesn't happen anymore, the weapon systems that every nation is developing today are make sure things like that don't happen.
Minimize collateral, only destroy the objects the pose a threat.

This only appeals to people because it shows sequences that we could only "dream" off in real life.

While bf3 chooses to stay close to reality, this is another thing in a whole and those epic setpieces draw crowds.

Now i'm not defending mw3, bf3->mw3 anyday

The complaint is that they showed nothing different other than the setting. Slow-mo breaches and a boat chase were in MW2 two years ago. The thing that keeps CoD ticking is the big, explosive set pieces and not much else.

Harbor chase = Ending of MW2.
Sub base = COD4
Slo-mo breach = MW2 and many events like that in multiple CODS.
Helicopter scene = MANY CoDs..

Really, none of the video really looked THAT great. When you shoot the guy and McIn examines him, that is scripted, the guy will ALWAYS die in that position. The objective was to launch the rockets, and it did that on it's own, The water making you bounce is all scripted.

Really, I don't know why I keep buying CoD.

That's the thing, Modern Warfare 3 doesn't look different, and, the odds are, it won't play different. The Call of Duty franchise has become stagnant; they tweak the game engine slightly, and add some more set pieces. People who are bored of Call of Duty, like myself, do not hate the franchise; they are simply apathetic towards it. If they implemented a new engine and a more coherent and engaging plot, I would be more interested, but as it stands, Battlefield will likely be the only "modern military shooter" I need this year. I may not enjoy the franchise, but that does not mean I hate it.

As I mentioned, I DO NOT hate the franchise; I simply do not care about it. Also, I never said that you were wrong or that you are a fanboy for enjoying Call of Duty, so why must you do so to me?
I must correct you; Battlefield will be different. It has a new engine, and ,as I said, that is mainly all I want from the next Call of Duty I purchase. You are correct in saying that no war game can change its "core", but what they can change is how they present said "core".

I am not a real COD fan, but the graphics took a mayor leap, especially the outdoor area's look very nice.

I am also impressed with the animation of the soldiers, very smooth.

Emm, i play that gameplay -placing a bomb in front of a door, blew it up, everything looks slow-mo, and we can shoot the bad guy- in MW 1, MW 2, n Black Ops. Even that boat chase sequence looks the same in the end of MW 2. I mean, is there something new that this game can offer?

COD MW 1 was the best of the recent lot of games from the COD franchise. I disliked Black ops the most, closely followed by MW 2. However, MW 3 looks to be quite good if they can hold and build on the cinematic gameplay and scene we just saw in this preview.

MW3 just moved up on my must buy list. :-)

i really dont care, multiplayer is where the masses are, it will have 12-15 new maps reset everyones stats from what ever your on now, give u the fun of looking for new hide spots and places to climb/suprise the enemy. COD is the Coca Cola of the video game market, why change what everyone is enjoying, doesnt make it right or wrong its what works for them. I buy all types of games, no money restrictions (on games atleast) but always find my self playing cod it is fun and im an avg player.

I personally thought it was pure rails though. Swimming part is most likely rails and the boat part is on rails. What does that make actual gameplay - a couple of rooms in a sub where guys pop out and get shot before they can shoot you and a scene on the top of the sub where guys just popped out just to get shot.

I actually bet you can play this whole level without shooting like you could with the first level of the black ops game.

Really? You have to be joking people. What you saw is a boring and overdone slow mo in the beginning with doors getting blown up, and then a 5 minute BOAT RIDE LOL. No nice graphics, nothing new... Just same old cod.

I dare you to watch BF3 trailer, and then the COD trailer afterwards. Then tell me Cod still looks "good". Its all relative, COD has been left behind by other games, and it only looks decent if you dont look what else is on the market. But this isnt 2008, so pardon me if i dont fall over this POS.
