Modern Warfare 3 vs Battlefield 3 Comparison Video

As we already know EA and DICE are using a Frostbite 2.0 Engine which will upgrade not only their graphics but also their destruction capabilities as is obvious in the video. Activision is switching from the engine they have been using for the past Call of Duty's obviously for a better look but we will see how it stacks up. "We haven't gone into detail on the engine yet but we've moved beyond the [Modern Warfare 2] engine and added a lot of cool stuff for [Modern Warfare 3]," writes Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling.

You be the judge though, what looks better and/or more fun?

that didn't take to long.
BF3 has so much better lighting and details in characters/buildings/cars/road / pretty much everything.

You not gonna see the same amount of texture in MW3 then you would see in BF3.

Welshy4754d ago

to be fair, this is high end PC vs Console footage

but yeh, even on console BF3 is going to look far superior too.

il play the MW3 campaign (im scottish, we dont get protagonists often!!!) but thats as far as it goes

looking forward to BF3 on PS3 =D

thong_pounder4754d ago (Edited 4754d ago )

even if you compare the pc mw3 footage to bf3 it still isn't going to look that good compared to bf3. Now just waiting to see how battlefield will look like on console but this is a.....

BAD comparison

Welshy4754d ago

yeh i agree thongpounder (lol @ your name btw =P)

the PC version of COD graphics wise isnt quite as huge a jump as alot of multiplatform games, it'll be better but still not at the same table as BF3.

as far as the comparison goes... its kind of the only footage available of MW3 at the moment haha

mafiahajeri4754d ago

Cpt price is irish hi moms scotish...:P

BubbleSniper4754d ago

BF3 will eat MW3 for all meal courses and will not ask for 2nds like the sheep do. *bend over kiddies!*

Pandamobile4754d ago

One looks like a game from 2011.

One looks like a game from 2007.

Nothing more needs to be said.

i_like_ff74754d ago

One game is running on a gtx580

One game is running on a ps3/360 at 60fps

Dumb comparison imo

undercovrr4754d ago

I'm willing to bet you anything that the PC version of mw3 won't fall too far from the console tree.

i_like_ff74754d ago

Yea thats obvious that mw3 will just be a console port but who knows what bf3 will look on console. On top of that the game will be a 30fps game on console.

Joni-Ice4754d ago (Edited 4754d ago )

Im done with COD. It really have to be different gameplay for me to buy it. My friend lent me Black Ops and the gameplay is just boring. I like to play games on the hardest modes but Im tired of getting shot by the guy who has the perfect aim. I know it sounds weird but all COD games play the same. I can't enjoy it anymore.

RBLAZE19884754d ago

this is like comparing a high end directX 11 engine to an old decaying frankenstein engine from 2000...oh wait it is comparing a high end DirectX 11 engine to an old decaying frankenstein engine from 2000...nvm lol

rabidpancakeburglar4754d ago

MW3 looks slightly cooler but that's because it's a trailer for World War 3 and Battlefield's is gameplay. In terms of graphics and gameplay it looks like Battlefield will blow it away.

xtreampro_REVENGE!4754d ago

I think Crash Badicoot 1 looks better than MW3.

rabidpancakeburglar4754d ago

Nah I've got crash bandicoot. The graphics aren't all that great but it's close, very close

Convas4754d ago

LOL, high end PC footage vs Console footage.

Because that's totally and completely fair, right?

Eiffel4754d ago (Edited 4754d ago )

I don't think it would even make much of a difference, it's COD.

Controversy in the COD community feels like it happens within an alternate timeline. Activision will take the piss with something, there will be a momentary fuss about it, and then they will forget about it and carry on anyway. Repeat this cycle literally every year for the rest of time.

They call that a crack head! Thats what this is really about, its an addiction. People who dont smoke cigarettes look and laugh at the addicts that spend $8-$10 a pack, but they cant help themselves, they are addicted. That same analogy applies perfectly to the whole MT industry. Only an addict that was not thinking clearly would spend this kind of money on something so frivolous. A round of multiplayer provides the same high a person gets from scratching a lotto ticket, or putting money on a sports bet. MT in general need to really be regulated because you have a generation of kids becoming adults who grew up only knowing the MT era of gaming. Its normal to them and they will in turn teach their kids the same by just being a gaming parent and getting their kids involved with them in gaming. Thats why no matter how ridiculous the headlines keep getting out of the MT industry, it never seems to fade or go away.

I'm so tired of hearing about what they're doing with this game, its never going to change and it's never going to value the consumer over money, furthermore the people who engage so heavily in the microtransactions I guess allegedly are having a blast and can't wait to do it some more this year when the new version of the game drops.
