Call of Duty Has a “Major Announcement” Coming Soon

Major news everyone. A rumor has circulated the internet over the past few hours that something big for Call of Duty will be announced tonight at Activision’s event later tonight. That’s right, big Call of Duty news will be announced tonight – but what will it be?

Maybe they'll do the right thing and announce dlc map packs will cost $5 instead of $15. $15 is ridiculous for 5 maps! Or, better yet, maybe they'll put these maps ON THE DISC, instead of making us pay extra for them!!

And if it's a new game, it had better have a new game engine. The graphics are SO dated! I mean, come on. Use all that money you're making, Activision, and get that graphics engine up to date with games like Battlefield BC2 and Killzone 3!

@Trunkz Jr
Yeah, I'm just gonna keep playing CoD4 until the servers go down. And that's only once in awhile. Most of my time is with Battlefield BC2 and Battlefield 3 when it comes out. Also, Killzone 3 gets played a lot.

If they offer it for $5 you'd have to assume they'd offer only 2 maps.

I honestly don't know what you expect them to charge when they include more maps in a bundle than anyone else on the market. They are not charging for individual maps any differently than anyone else

And how on earth do they put maps on a disc that aren't even fully made yet?

ZombieAssassin4771d ago

I doubt we'll ever see 5 maps for $5, but it is a rip off, I think it should be at the very most $12.50 since they use to charge us $10 for 4 meaning it was $2.50 a map. It is Activision though and one day they will fall from grace and we can all laugh when they realize they should of took chances with more new IP's because they milked all their big ones.

What, activision going to pull the plug off COD?
Now that's major.

DeadlyFire4770d ago

Better idea blumatt. Give gamers a toolkit = Free DLC maps.

blumatt4770d ago

Agreed! I've love to see that.

Who cares?

After BO which turned out to be BS, I'm never buying another CoD unless they use a complete new engine, I can play the original MW and have just as much fun and save $60+

Battlefield 3 FTW.

kingdavid4771d ago

People say the same crap every year...

After World at War im not buying another COD
After mw2 im not buyin another COD
After black ops Im not buyin another COD

Yet they always seem to end up getting it. Funny that.

AAACE54771d ago

Yeah, I say it too! Also said I hated Black ops, but it kind of grew on me.

It's speculated to be an official announcement confirming Modern Warfare 3

Blacktric4771d ago

Yeah, just like Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops. And map packs are mini DLC's.

newhumanbreed4771d ago

Don't forget World at War!

HolyOrangeCows4771d ago

Don't get your hopes up. This is really just another unofficial inevitable sequel website. They're armed to the teeth with advertisement space and live off of opinion pieces and vague, baseless rumors like these.

DeadlyFire4770d ago

I am betting its a name change of some sort to Call of Duty series.

Hopefully this entry does something innovative. If not im not buying.

Shackdaddy8364771d ago

It has the exact same engine so I'm guessing it wont. Like usual...

SNEEKZ0NER4771d ago

I didn't know you worked for Infinity Ward or Activision.

Kingdom Come4771d ago

No but this guy does and he announced the game'll be using the same engine as Call of Duty 2...

wwm0nkey4771d ago

umm Rock, paper, shotgun said nowhere that it was MW3, they suggested Call of Duty Online.

Son_Lee4771d ago

I'm no CoD fan really, but if it's Modern Warfare 3, I might bite the bullet. Modern Warfare 2 was my first FPS that I beat, and beat on Veteran, so it means something to me.
