These are busy times for Square Enix - and profitable ones. Released back in February, PS2 title Final Fantasy XII has proved to be a huge hit with gamers and critics alike. Anticipation is already building for the PlayStation 3 sequel despite the fact that a release date has yet to be announced.
But the publisher isn't just enjoying success on Sony consoles. Last month saw the release of a 2007 edition of MMO Final Fantasy XI on PC and Xbox 360, and a remake of FFIII is due out on DS in May along with Chocobo Tales. In short, this may be the most prolific period in Square Enix's history - at least when it comes to the Western market.
GamesIndustry.biz sat down with Hiromichi Tanaka, senior vice president of software development, and global online producer Sage Suni to find out mroe about the publisher's future plans.
Take it to the sea and start the fishing. Take a look at the best fishing games you can play on the PS2 today.
The Nerd Stash: "Developed by Treyarch Studios, Call of Duty: Black Ops games are some of the best in the series in terms of gameplay, story, and -- of course -- Zombies."
Black ops 4, because it was the last cod of duty I was able to dominate with a +2 k/d ratio. Before all the freaking cheating started to happen. It was nice catching people off guard and shooting at them first and getting the kill. Unlike now, where I shoot people first, but they gun me down with less hits, less time, literally feels like they can kill me in a split second. At times, they are able to run away after me shooting them way more than necessary, yet, the second I'm spotted, I'm dead, there's no me running away to cover. They can do cartwheels, summersaults, backflips and gun you down perfectly. They can shoot you across the map with perfect accuracy. They can jump around like morons and gun you down without even having to correct their aim. They have superman split second perfect reactions. That's the best way to describe it, everything they do is spot on perfect. They can spam and spray (no praying) their gun from far away, because they have no recoil or bullet spread. It always feels like I have to aim and also correct my aim when moving around, while these pricks don't have to do the same.
And yes, I know how to play fps games. I dominated many fps games like: Resistance 1&2, kz 2&3, Socom, MAG, Crysis, Gotham City Impostors, blitz brigade etc. all with 2-4 k/d ratio. Kz2 (lag input controls) and resistance (no aim assist in resistance) being the hardest and were the games I reached either close to a 3 k/d ratio or above.
I truly got to enjoy blacks ops 4 and got my money's worth out of it. Afterwords, I would either stop playing cod games after a while, because of the cheating, or would skip buying cod games for a year or two before buying another.
With these hidden gems to add to your backlog, it’s time to give some bangers the shine they deserve.
Numbers 6-9 were some of my absolute favorite early gen PS3 games. I'm still bitter about Incognito and Japan Studio.
The white knight chronicles and infamous games really need to come to modern platforms. MAG I really miss...poor zipper. The ps3 was definitely a unique console despite it being the worst home console of PlayStation.
FFXIII confirmed for the 360 yay!!I'm kidding Sony fans, please don't come after me :D
But I want another MMO from them! FFXI is pure genius! Love it and still play it today. I want a new one though and please oh please don't give it to Japan a year before anyone else for it creates this animosity that shouldn't be between players. You know seeing that we don't fight each other but fight npc's. I swear when US got it there was about 2 years where no Japanese player would party with an American and vise versa. Man was that stupid when you want to get a party going and you can only find 3 english speaking and 3 japanese speaking players back then... it did get better but it's still there kind of. That's why it would need to be released worldwide at the same time... but that won't happen ><
I just got the new game informer and thats what one of the guys mentioned. Anyhow ,I hope squeenix can make some new and interesting games. When you know people will buy your game regardless thats when you get sloppy. I guess it doesn't matter.
All I can say is that the keyboard attachment will add a lot to the controls, and interaction of the game. Hopefully it comes with the keyboard.
i loved it wholeheartedly. i really liked wow too. but i see where both were attracting me for different reasons. as meantioned above, ffxi required more time, a lot more. as a black mage, or for that matter most any job other than beastmaster, there was no chance for solo play. however, when you were in a good party who could skill chain reliable and have multiple magic bursts, or a great manaburn party, the game was a million times more awesome than wow ever was for me. but, wow was more playable. in wow i was able to log on, play for 45 min or 8 hours. in ffxi it was at least 4 hours or not at all! i'm playing lotro online now, and i think it does a better job of mixing the two. you can party your way up levels, or solo it, it's nice to have the flexibility (although i expect more fellowshipping when i reach higher levels). i can't wait for the next square mmo, it will be innovative, beautiful, and cross-platforming is sweet. it's hella funny when you can tell the galka is on an xbox, and that elf you hang out with is playing on his pc at work *^^*
