Palworld Has Lost 97% Of Its Players On Steam Since Launch, But You Shouldn't Worry

Insider Gaming writes: "As more updates are released, it should be expected that players will continue to come back to Palworld or try it for the first time. It then becomes a question of when the player base will rebound, not if."

I feel like I'm greeted with one of these Palworld don't worry about the playerbase pieces every week. It's over. The not so Pokemon like fizzled out. It happens.

It isn't over. The numbers dropped because it's an early access game and not finished. Once it leaves early access it will bounce back and then some.

It's a game with an ending. Once you've consumed all the content, there's ot really much to do afterwards. Breeding is fun for a little bit but even that gets old. Legendary Alpha Pals are the best in the game. But you can't breed Alpha pals so the best Pals must be caught wild but tonwhat ends? You cannot fight other people yet.

So you're gringing to cat a Pal with the perfect stats just for the hell of it. Not many people are going to want to keep doing that.

Having said all that. I haven't bought a Pokémon game in over a decade because of how stale they have become. I gave Palworld a try and was completely engulfed by the game until I consumed all the content.

I'll be back once the planned content is released. Palworld has a lot of lessons that the Pokémon company should take to heart and stop being so complacent.

It's not a live service online reliant game, has an end, and is still EA. There'll be updates to add content, fixes, etc but it's not designed to make you keep playing forever hours and hours per day. And obviously the hype is over. There is also an end to the game.

The company made their money and hopefully they keep coming with major updates or even work on a sequel. Very good game.

I think that this has legs if they do it right

I stopped playing Palworld when Helldivers 2 came out. I may return one day if they manage to give the Xbox version a graphical and performance update. I would also appreciate more content.

Why isn’t this on PlayStation yet, was good does it serve not being on the platform.

I’m going to start a Change.Org petition with a goal of a million signatures, I’m sure that will get the developers attention.

Thought it was explained ps doesn't accept betas or some sh

I dont think sony allows early access games. which is what happened to pubg when it came to xb and not ps. After it completed its early access tour... it came to ps. This game will do the same.

Abnor_Mal42d ago

True, the appeal of the game from what I’ve read is already dying down. How long does early access last, cause by the time it’s out of early access the game will likely be a barren wasteland. This is the first article I’ve seen in many many weeks talking about the game.

I mean, they should get flack. They stole designs and art, as well as used AI. They also did the same thing when it came to their other game which was a ripoff of Hollow Knight

Christopher5d ago

All claims of stealing assets were from someone who modified assets to make them look the same AFAIK.

Michiel19895d ago

most games are ripoffs of something with their own spin on it, except we call it iterating. As long as the so called "rip offs" are fun and good, I'm all for it.

Delete all your social media. The majority of people playing your game don't care what people are saying.

Palworld Co-Op: Early Access Preview - Spawning Point

With a budget of only $6.7 million, no one can argue that Palworld hasn’t had incredible breakout success. This isn’t surprising for a cheeky, funny, colourful game that unashamedly lifts gameplay mechanics from big franchises e.g. Minecraft, Fortnite and Ark, along with a very in your face nod to Pokemon.
