So, I Finally Played Cyberpunk 2077

Im playing it right now, i really like the game, i started on Series X, but only played for like 10 hrs or so.. now im playing it on PC, and im much more into it.. idk how much i been playing, i think im like 30 hrs .. i really enjoy the game (isnt perfect, but is really good).

Bought it during the recent sale and I agree, it is actually a lot of fun and plays great now. And I think it's possible to acknowledge that it is a good game now and highlight the improvements, while also remembering that they messed up hard at launch. I think it's important to keep in mind how they screwed us over (be it because of Sony pressuring or not), and that we don't just forgive and forget. Because if we do, they'll take it as a sign that they can release Witcher 4 (just as an example) half assed, and keep working on it a few years before releasing the finished product.

It's still a lifeless city and the cars handle like scaletrix. The ai and bugs are up there with starfield too.

I tried it before the revamp and found it boring, to many junk items. The dialogue was cringe
The gun play was alright, but the cons out weighed the pros. I spent about 20 hours playing it on the steam deck.

Now they've revamped the game, I just have no interest at all to try again. I feel I am going to be missing out, but I think it's too soon to start again.

I found that everyone tried speaking tough, and it missed the mark. Some of the things said was silly, and it wasn't to my liking.

I don't need to google. I am asking specific things, do you have a quote of what a character said and why that equates to cringe? And a game where the dialogue is not cringe?

I have some issues with the dialogue too, but the whole dialogue wasn't technically unsound.

Part of the problem with the whole "Game X isn't what was promised" narrative in the past ten years or so is that the current generation of gamers seems to have no internal filter when they see a trailer about what is just cinematic marketing and what is representative of gameplay. Until probably about the PS4 era, gamers could see a trailer/marketing materials for a game and instinctively understand based on prior experiences what parts of what they were seeing were just cinematic and which parts were actually going to be representative of gameplay in the final package. Like plenty of 360/PS3 games looked better and showcased abilities, etc that weren't in the final game, and everyone understood. But now if you announce a game with a prerendered trailer that shows a helicopter in the distance and then when the game doesn't have flyable helicopters when it launches 3.5 years later, the game "isn't what was promised."

You have a point with "the color by numbers" mentality that most people have, but CDPR did say that each Megabuilding was going to be it's own unique living system, which is the only promise that I felt was misleading while they were marketing the game. It wasn't until I did some reading to understand (I still don't really understand) they "couldn't" actually do that on PS4 tech., but people with experience knew right away. It was similar to Starfield, when Howard said they spent a ton of money updating their engine and people were going to be able to explore space, except everyone already knew that Howard stretches the truth like taffy. At any rate, now, I have have to separate the trailer and I need some general knowledge to understand the promises of technical possibilities companies might make.
