Back in the day, this has always been a curiousity if mine. Sony traded 9 month exclusivity for AGENT. Sony obviously got screwed with that deal and I'm sure Sony never went after Rockstar/TakeTwo for it because Sony had more to lose.

Now, Microsoft has too big of pockets to allow Sony to get the headstart on GTA. If anything, there is a background bidding war and Microsoft will not lose. I wouldn't be surprised if TakeTwo has a deal that they get more revenue from GTA compared to other games.

In terms of Microsoft and GTA, are you talking marketing rights? There are a few factors that may come into play beyond financial package offered. Firstly, which system do they stand to make the most money from. The relationship they have with each company and the extent of the deal offered by each.

No doubt that if it is something they could gain, both companies would chuck the kitchen sink at it.

It just feels strange as every little thing in this industry leaks somehow, someway but we've never heard a peep on this topic. I'm genuinely curious.

L.A Noire was going to be an exclusive, Rockstar said "we'll give you another exclusive if you let this one go multiplatform", Sony said yes and Agent never came.

Did they trade the money for something GTAV related back when that came out or got one of it's re-releases or what?

The $20 million was likely waived because Rockstar gave Sony the marketing rights for GTA V, including a branded headset with a custom audio profile. To be honest though, Rockstar never should have "owed" Sony anything. Sony was publishing LA Noire and spent $20 million on it, then they abandoned the project. Team Bondi needed a new publisher so Rockstar stepped in. Then Sony came calling for their money. If you abandon a project you shouldn't be owed anything.

Starfield is the one of the few titles released this entire gen that I've been interested in. Which is why I primarily just play visual novels, JRPG'S and "boomer shooters" nowadays on my laptop. I'd definitely be playing the hell out of Starfield or Atomic Heart if my laptop had more than 128MB VRAM or if I had a current gen console, lol. I've been putting down GTA since I joined this site back in 2011 so it's nothing new. I used to get temporary bans all the time because I referred to it as GTGAY, lol.

I'm curious to see how it runs on Series S, likely look a bit like ass but it will be interesting to see nonetheless, with some PS5 games already upscaling from 720p I don't know how Series S can go lower unless they really cut back on texture quality and even more on resolution.

I doubt GTA 6 would only be a minor visual upgrade over 5 for it to better cope with the hardware either.

My main concern for GTA 6 is whether they are gunna cater to woke liberals. GTA was always one of those things where you could count on them not giving a shit about What anyone thought and just making the game they wanted to make. Remember the GTA 5 torture mission was in every news channel for like a month after launch.

Hopefully the woke brigade doesn't censor their vision, but I have my doubts.

I know they exist, shit some of my favourite characters in gaming have been gay I.e Ellie, Asatarion, Judy, Bill in the last of us tv show, I cried my eyes out at that shit.

I just dislike overrepresentation because it leads to poorly written characters and less immersive worlds in my opinion. Also it's not just that, I think you have to risk being offensive at times to tell good realistic stories, and a lot of games I feel have been heavily censored in recent times due to social pressure from twitter warriors.
